There’s an * over last summer purely because of the hectic ownership change and Thomas fucking Tuchel getting to decide what players to bring in. Every single signing last summer was a mess. Since actual recruitment people have come in, most have been fine so far. It’s only pre season but they actually look like a functioning side going forward.
The big signing is still whether or not Caicedo gets brought in. That will change everything. Allows Fernandez to play slightly higher up and he’ll have a field day with Nkunku playing near him. Keeper is still an issue but unfortunately it seems like Poch likes small Spaniards.

The fact they've stayed up for this long, mostly very comfortably - ten years now - is an underrated achievement. That said, they operate at the centre of possibly the leading 10 square mile area for talent production in world football, so maybe less miraculous.
