Koulibaly, Kante and Havertz all leaving frees up £850k a week on wages. The fact they’re also getting £60m from Arsenal for Havertz and £25m from a Saudi club for Koulibaly is the icing on the cake. £35m for Kovacic to City seems like it’s done and I assume Man Utd pay around £55m and get Mason Mount. Yeah, so there's not really any point/benefit to them now. You'll still need to give a player a new/better contract if they turn out to be good, even if they are on a long one, and if they're shite you're just stuck in Bogardeville for longer.

He hasn't been very good for Chelsea, he's not really a striker and even if he were he'd still not beat Jesus (or, arguably Nketiah?) to the starting spot. And even more importantly it's not really what they need? Meanwhile they are haggling for 20m here or there for Declan Rice which is exactly what they need. What am I missing?
He's an absolutely class player who is bypassed by modern elite tactics. He should probably go and play in the Championship or something and score 50 a season and make another 50. Actually, he could just stay at Chelsea and do that.
