The only reg I'd ever shell out for is 'BEN 316' and because of all the vain cunts that'll be at least £10k.
My Dad had "MAD 2" which was apparently meant to be mine but he ended up selling it.
I'd have sold it myself tbh.
The worst ones are B055 etc. Could you imagine working for someone like that.
There's a 2011 Megane Trophy with low miles on autotrader I really want but I can't (whilst maintaining any pretence of fiscal responsibility) afford it yet![]()

"I assume that's a joke" was the wife's response![]()
Practical family runaround.
It even fulfills her 5 doors and not yellow/orange criteri.

The hatchback STI is my favorite version.
That was the shape when they ruined it.
That's a honking price for the generation of Impreza that ruined Impreza's forever. Not to mention shit mods. If the person manages to shift that for >£15k then they need to be a politician where their conman skills can be put to good use.
What I actually want is something like this:

Fun.
Those photos make it looks like if cars could cosplay as Trinity from The Matrix.

Bought a new car battery. Why are they so bloody heavy?!
I'm a twit
Why on Earth do headlight bulbs get volcanically hot? Burnt my thumb.
Worth it though. MOT place wouldn’t put a blue one in to replace the one that had failed, but the mechanic gave me two he had spare and told me how to change them. Made me promise to do it cos “it looks poxy with odd lights.”

I've not long spent an absolute fortune on my Clio Trophy. Had it since 2014 when I bought it for £5k but their value has only gone up in recent years so it was either sell due to the rust that had taken hold (thank you Scottish roads in the winter) or bite the bullet and go all in. Went for the latter as I know I'd be kicking myself in years to come if I got rid.
Almost ended up at a full respray but the budget meant it had to stop somewhere, only thing not painted was the front bumper and roof. Major expense was replacing the two rear quarter panels as the rot had well and truly set in. Threw in a new bonnet as well. Biggest surprise for me was the state of the inner arches that's not visible until you've hacked off the outer panel, can only imagine a lot of 182's are in a similar state but hidden from the outisde. Here's a few photos-

Awesome.
I've just bought a '67 Astra Tourer Elite Nav Diesel for work, £13,500. Getting rid of my disgustingly uncomfortable A200. Cost me nearly £15,000 and nothing to show for it. Fuck leasing ever again.
Mazda just quoted me £500 for an MOT and service, apparently it needs a 'major' service despite me buying it from them 12 months ago![]()
A "major" service is usually when they change things like transmission fluids and other lubricants, in addition to the usual engine oil and filters. If you haven't done over 20,000 miles tell them to swivel and get a local garage to do a regular service for about £200.
For automatic transmissions I'm not aware of any manufacturers who say to change the oil at all given they're 'sealed for life'. Utter bollocks of course.
Are those diesel claim adverts a scam?
I took the Fastra to get remapped and it had already been done.![]()
I wanted to do that but got told I need to declare it to my insurance and I don’t want to. Bet my Fabia would love it too.
I'm a twit
Yeah fuck declaring it.
If you were to play daft what could they actually do?
If it got to the stage of analysing the ECUs post crash I think I'd have bigger problems than invalid insurance.
My Fiesta's power steering slowly died due to a leak about a year ago and I had a few months of just continuing to drive it like a go-kart without oil. I took it in and my perserverance had fucked the pump so spent £400 replacing it. About 6 months on and the power steering went again. Another few months of driving like an F1 driver in Monaco and a more competent mechanic has finally seen it was an issue with the rack that was causing the problem so £350 for the rack and £250 for a new pump. Gonna miss that sweet sweet handling and the gains I was getting in my back muscles.
Test booked for end of July as I attempt to take my first step into adulthood. Would really like to pass before going away at the end of August but not feeling too hot about my prospects. Can hopefully squeeze another test in if I fail the first one.
Narrowly failed in 2017 and didn't drive again until about two months ago. Thought I'd have retained most of the tekkers but the first few lessons were fucking grim. Only having two hours a week of lessons which doesn't feel enough but every instructor seems to be booked up until next year.
Pretty tempted to buy a used piece of crap and nag family and friends to sit in the passenger seat for hours at a time.
As someone who didn't pass until they were 35, I can't imagine life as a non-driver now. As soon as I moved from the city centre it just became a nightmare to get anywhere.
Convinced I got caught doing 60 in a 40 the other day. Going to get the Mrs to take the points if I did.
I thought I got done coming home from Wales a few weeks ago but not had a letter so think I slowed down just in time.
What’s the usual timeframe between being caught and receiving your letter?

My mate just started driving again having passed his test about a decade ago. Got in the car with him after he'd had it a week and he was worse than me.
I passed a year ago. I was always told it’d be one of the best things I could do and assumed that was nonsense, but it really is. Good luck James.
Awesome!
Hope you’re as fortunate as me.

I got done a while back for doing 35 I believe in a 30.
Got a speed awareness course on Wednesday that I have to go to.
Yeah, but with the state of the postal service/everything in general you'll probably get the letter in 4 months [somehow dated within the time period] and have already been prosecuted/fined/whatever in absentia in the meantime.
35 in a 30 [saw the Archbishop got done for 25 in a 20] seems harsh to me, I always thought you got more leeway or has that been clamped down on?
I know someone who got two letters arrive on the same day from the same camera![]()
Let me know if there's more to that course than, "Just slow down, yeah?"
I think they show you a bunch of 'the consequences of speeding' images/stories/public information videos.
They ask you questions like "HOW DO YOU KNOW WHAT THE SPEED LIMIT IS?", "WHICH ONE IS THE 'FAST' LANE" and other shit which if you know how to drive is simple.
I went on one about 10 years ago.
