Spurs 9-1 Wigan
Spurs 9-1 Wigan
I'd 8-2 be an Arsenal fan. (Vs Man Utd)
Edit: reread the question. Never mind.
Chelsea 8 - 0 Villa
Newcastle 8 - 0 Sheff Wed
Man City 8 - 0 Watford
Didn't Liverpool beat Palace 9-0 at some point? Was that in the Premier League.
Also remember them smashing Fulham but that may have been league cup.
Let's talk more about that 10-0 loss.
There's not much to say. We were in the 3rd Division, Liverpool were the reigning league champions. Just one of those things.
Didn't Middlesbrough put a shitload past Sven's City? Might have only been seven though.
I recall Poyet getting pumped when he was in charge of Sunderland. Who and by what score is beyond me.
Middlesbrough 8-1 Manchester City
Was that the one with a legendary own goal [or was that by a Southampton player against Leicester]?
In my mind Vergini's was an absolute corker. Youtube confirms.
Was that the one where he smashed it in from the edge of the box? One of the best
So many bad memories from this thread. Can we talk about Poyet's great victories over Newcastle instead?
No. No you can't.![]()
8-1 was the correct scoreline, and yes it was on the last day of the season, in Sven's last match in charge.
Dave is of course correct, and I'm glad we got to revisit these thumpings together.
Full list is as follows:
Manchester United 9-0 Ipswich Town
Southampton 0-9 Leicester City
Manchester United 9-0 Southampton
Liverpool 9-0 Bournemouth
Tottenham Hotspur 9-1 Wigan Athletic
Newcastle United 8-0 Sheffield Wednesday
Chelsea 8-0 Wigan Athletic
Chelsea 8-0 Aston Villa
Southampton 8-0 Sunderland
Manchester City 8-0 Watford
Nottingham Forest 1-8 Manchester United
Middlesbrough 8-1 Manchester City
Keep an eye out for Southampton v Wigan next season.
Just a quick one this morning.
This season Casemiro became the 8th South American to score in an English domestic cup final. Can you name the other 7?
Ricky Villa
Aguero must be one, as must Willian. Surprisingly low number of players who’ve done it.
Edit: Tevez too.
Edit 2: Missed the word final there, so at least the question makes more sense now 😄

Sanchez has probably scored in at least one final as Arsenal have been in quite a few.
Ramires scored against Liverpool. David Luiz I think only scored in a European final. Maybe not even that.
Luis Suarez?
Coutinho?

Gabriel Jesus, Diego Costa if he's not officially Spanish
Fernandinho scored against Liverpool once.

Not to brag, but I'm fucking shit hot at only connect these days. Me and my mum (who isn't great) outscore at least one of the teams most weeks. Got a 5 pointer musical connection this weekanyone fancy setting up a TTH team?
It’s not on for another half an hour?
I like the first half of Only Connect, but the word wall does my nut in.
Here we go. Big fan of “Dennis” having no surname. Who does he think he is, Seal?
If there was a version of it that was just the missing vowels round and nothing else I'd walk it.
Only eight Englishmen have scored a hat-trick in the Champions League. Name them.
Rooney
Rashford
Assume Kane too
Pretty sure his former partner Shearer has one too, but for Newcastle
Rooney, Kane, Newell (damn you Wullie) & Shearer are correct.
