Pretty reasonable that, albeit I'm touching cloth on the fodder now. Had to open the 82x25 and 83x25 yesterday.
I won’t be doing the hero. I have main shitters (Ricken, Ljungberg and Dempsey) already.
Crossplay is nice to see.
Lol at how they keep trying to push women's football.
Looking forward to them adding more interview questions in career mode while leaving all the existing bugs as they are
Is it too late for a phwoar?
Fi-Phwoar.
TTH Pro Clubs Cross-Play
Am I right in saying the only benefits of standard vs ultimate edition is all FUT related?
I'm a twit
Pretty sure that's the case Baz.
It's going to be weird seeing the women footballers do men footballer things.
There's a video here - no idea if it's still got loads of gamebreaking bugs though
Looks like more shit (like why the hell add more cinematic sequences, they are annoying as it is!) and less useful stuff (like better transfer menus, better player development, etc).
They've got to be thinking about pulling a Konami with the rebrand. Free to play but it's only Ultimate Team.
You know when a tech guy comes in to fix issues within some software that your workplace has been using for years? Well they tend to find that the people who replaced the replacement for the replacement of the guy who originally installed it, have all left. What you get then is a system that nobody really knows how it works any more and as such cannot really fix, more than enough to bodge it and everyone carries on. The only way to make it fully better is to start from the ground up, but then that is extremely more expensive than just bodging it.
There was a Twitter thread from a guy that's worked with EA for years and has said that this is essentially what they have going on now. They've built on top of previous versions so much that even simple things, the example given was cross play on pro clubs, take an absolute age to implement and even longer to do properly.
As such FIFA 23 is in a mess apparently. The big wigs dont want to tear up trees and rebuild the game as the current way of doing things earns them £1bn+ each year.
The hope is that EA Sports FC once that launches will be that chance to start anew, but I'm not holding my breath.
You can tell it's the same code they start with each year as every single search bug in the transfer market always comes back.
They could make a fresh break. The cynic in me says they'll just cannibalise '23, especially if they just want to release an Ultimate team only package. However, if it's no longer going to be an annual product, EA has the incentive to make sure they have a framework they can work with for years.
Konami changed engines for eFootball but that was entirely out of support for the FOX engine being shuttered. EA will still be using Frostbite and the one year turnaround probably means they'll pick the quickest option.
They'll carry on doing what they've always done, just with a different name.
Loads of new info here: Pitch Notes - the new chemistry system seems complex but allows for loads more variation in teams. Being able to switch players from LB to RB etc. looks mega too
Officially pre-ordered it despite saying, for maybe the fifth year running, I wouldn't get it this year.

Some on Xbox have been able to download and play the game already.
Rating leaks everywhere. How have they fucked this up that badly.
True but this a new level.
That'll absolutely fuck however they intended the economy of the game to work on launch too. Top effort all round.
Now issuing copyright takedowns on all media revealing anything from todays game leak. Streisand effect anyone?
Have EA met the internet before?
If they're still planning to do their ratings reveal, well, lol.
Web app release schedule:

Web App available this evening
Last 2 days of the 85 pack.
I have now packed every one a minimum of twice except the following
Neymar - 1
Ronaldo and Mbappe - 0
Granted the packs from the SS pack have made me enough coins to buy both a couple of days ago and have 700k left over so I am no that fussed but I would like FO
Pitch Notes for 23
They're doing something for Icons to upgrade them (like they did with Heroes) so they will actually be usable towards the end of the game
WebApp is up. My welcome back packs were terrible. Probably for the best really since I haven’t bought it
Guedes (who looks pretty decent for a starter striker) and Kasper Schmeichel as the best I've got so far. Did get a loan Vinicius who will surely come in handy
IF Palhinha
I got Phil Foden. Looks ripe for an SBC at some stage.
I haven't any plans to pick the new one up, but apparently from the web app release alone, the new chemistry system is absolute hell in SBCs.
I did wonder how they were going to cope with that. At this stage, and having got back into FM, I really wish I hadn't bothered pre-ordering it.
The main thing is that there isn't an equivalent to a "yellow link", so if you put a CM at CDM it doesn't add to chemistry. As long as position modifiers are abundant it won't be a problem, but EA will probably balls it up.
It's much better for squad creation, just a ballache for SBCs
Greetings from New Zealand
Seen a lot of that on Reddit. Wonder what the ‘population’ of NZ is today
How was the flight? Surprisingly speedy?
