Watching Napoli and beside this Gerogian kid looking like the best young prospect in European football, it actually sickens me we could have had Osimhen. Napoli a proper proper side.
Ollie Watkins was absolutely sensational today for us. He is one of the best hold-up strikers I've ever seen, yet he still has the pace to play off the last man and stretch teams right and left. He must cover so much ground, and he efforts bring other players into the game too. We played really well today, even if City – inevitably – made some decent chances.

What's happening here then? At the time I linked that all it said was this:
The Premier League is to review the operation of VAR with referees' organisation PGMOL as a matter of priority.
Because they got so much shit wrong yesterday.
In particular the West Ham equaliser at the death which should have stood.
Just watching MotD now and fuck me, what a shitshow. In a rare moment of agreeing with Alan Shearer, the thing shouldn't be anywhere near to being used unless it's a clear and obvious error.
That West Ham goal being chalked off was one of the worst decisions I've ever seen. The ref coming to that conclusion after seeing the replays has me convinced they were either cheating or brain damaged.
Antony rumoured to be starting against Arsenal.
I wonder if there's a psychological thing at play where if you have a toy you have to use it and if someone's referred you to look at something you're going to be pre-disposed to assuming you've made the wrong call.
Thank God VAR ruled that out, I hate it when football matches are spoiled with tremendous goals.
Brighton look good enough for Europe.
Yeah I was reacting to Alexis' thunderbastard being ruled out. What a player he is. Actually on reflection it was clearly the correct call, I just don't know why it took them half an hour.
Danny Ward has got to be the worst first choice prem keeper in a while.
I don’t even give a fuck about either of these but I think that’s me done with any game that has VAR in operation. Makes an absolute cunt of the sport.
I don't even think the biggest var problem is the clear and obvious aspect, it's just that they keep making incomprehensibly bad decisions.
It’s how long it takes to look back to see if someone committed a foul last Tuesday. Can hardly even celebrate a goal any more because you’re waiting for this bullshit. The NFL had completely destroyed itself with the same rubbish too.
Gabriel Jesus' natural resting face always looks like he's about to burst into tears.
Should have shown a yellow for that dive.
Some right scumbags in this Arsenal side.
Cry more.
Ramsdale diving out the way yet again![]()
Rashford's second very good pass in a week. Unbelievable.
Is there any prospect VAR can just go in the bin and we can all go back to moaning about the on field decisions?
Nah, keep VAR but have it posted on Twitter like "retweet for goal like for disallow" and let the Nigerians sort it out.
Rather than recommending the on field ref to have another look, why don't they just overrule the decision when an error is made?
There'll be some bullshit about not taking away/undermining the authority of the on-field ref.
VAR is clearly a good thing in principal, it's just people assumed that if you took away the split-second half-viewed nature of the decision-making refs would make better decisions. Unfortunately it seems their incompetence was not tied to the fact they were being asked to do a difficult job.
Abolish referees.
How on Earth is that not at least a monitor check?
Arsenal have been incredible here. Knocking it about for fun and passing United off the park.
Rashford was born offside.
Ramsdale gets smaller every time an attacker is running at him
Shame Bruno is finished now.
Such a good pass from Fernandes.
Feed the kids and he will score.
Sir Rarcus of Mashford.
