Can't see it happening. The move would be detrimental to THE BRAND.
Man U is a fun thing to watch unravel. They are one of the few clubs (unlike provincial curiosities like Newcastle) where the fanbase is large enough, organised and plugged-in enough that they could do serious damage if they wanted to, e.g. getting games called off or blockading the training ground or whatever else they felt like doing.
They probably need to get Mick Lynch on board to do the comms and promote a message beyond 'waah waah I want expensive new signings', mind.
A rolling campaign of getting games called off would be such good CONTENT that the Premier League would probably donate to fan groups on the sly.
They should hire a plane to display a message of discontent over the ground. That always works.
One of the De Telegraaf journos (not Mike Verweij unfortunately) reckons United are going to make some all-out last-ditch attempt to sign De Jong next week and are convinced they'll get him.
I'd like to say let's hope United know something we don't but I mean...
Eighteen million euros in carrier bags.
Any truth to the Morata to United chatter?
I'm a twit
Maupay to Forest for £15m.
Whitwell, who's very good for United, reported it's more the case that a load of agents have offered them strikers after seeing them go for Arnautovic.
Signing Morata for a "good deal" of a price and then have him come in and do nothing but it be fine cus he was cheap would be well in-line with out current transfer dealings.
Chelsea bidding £43m for Anthony Gordon has to be some money laundering scam
Aye they won’t but Everton should be absolutely 100% ripping the money out of their hand. He’s an English Dan James.
That is truly wild. Freuler to Nott Forest and Lookman ending ul at Atalanta are both very out there too.
The owner is going for the whole big dick Greek Business owner show off shit and I love it.
The Athletic reckon United are looking at Vardy. Presumably Teddy Sheringham is next on the list if that doesn't come off.
Brighton lining up Estupinan to replace Cucurella. Lovely business.
Man Utd have paid almost $750m in interest payments alone since the Glazers took over
They've also probably still spent the most over that period on all other aspects that fans want money spent on [perhaps not the stadium]. Live by the sword, die by the sword and all that.
They’re still rubbish, and that’s the main takeaway.
I'm a twit
A dogshit United dominating the narrative for another season might just turn me off football for good. Fans and journalists wanking themselves into oblivion every weekend. No thanks.
The time is definitely coming when we need to stop thinking of them as Fergie's Famous Man United and start thinking of them as just another regional club, like Everton or Aston Villa. City are now the main side in Manchester, even if the red lot have more fans.
There's been a fair bit of 'crumbling Old Trafford' stuff recently, never been so didn't know it's apparently a ruin.
The problem with Old Trafford is that they've just been building on top of the same shite structure that was there in the 1970's. I've been there a handful of times and it's evident they need to upgrade it significantly, but they're probably between a rock and a hard place with that now because instead of modernising it as they go along, it's still the same shell of that 20,000 seater they completed over 50 years ago with 50,000 extra seats piled in.
Even when I got in the home Stretford End for a cup semi final I was shocked by how shit it was.
How ramshackle can it really be? Or is the lack of a cheese room letting it down?
Beyond being a concrete structure with some seats in it, what does a football stadium need to be?
That's true but the only thing that signifies it belonging to a huge club is the amount of seats. It's very dated.
Contrast that to Westfalenstadion (similar size, similar age) which has actually been modernised with each regeneration.
If Wolves get Nunes we riot.
Having Joao Gomes and Joe Gomez in the same team will be funny though.

Chelsea should try convince Anthony Gordon to declare for us. Could get him on a free next summer after a year long loan at Preston then.
Apparently Frenkie is off. What odds are United to be relegated?
It was never on.
He would have to be thick as pig shit to leave his deal. Especially for United.
Losing 4-0 to Brentford really isn't a good way to entice those extra quality players through the door, is it.
If he does leave that deal for anyone then you can only assume some of his family members were played to him on a video from a warehouse somewhere.
Sarr to Palace would make that attack filth.
We missed the window on having David Edgar and Edgar Davids.
The peak was John Collins announcing the signing of Collins John.
Am I the only one who remembers Portugal having Joao Pinto and Joao Pinto 2? Or maybe I've imagined it.
I liked Mali having two Adama Traore's at the last AFCON.
Both were 27 (having been born just 3 weeks apart) and they both played for Metz too.
Having committed the last ten minutes to researching this, there was a stretch in the mid 90s where there were two Joao Pintos (the forward, and a right back) playing for Portugal. Why the fuck my brain has committed this to memory with one of them being Pinto 2 is anyone's guess. Maybe it was in a game or something, but I didn't even play games at that time.
I like 90s Brazil, Ronaldo being originally called Ronaldinho because of the defender Ronaldo who was then called Ronaldao so Ronaldinho could become Ronaldo which paved the way for Ronaldinho to come in and play alongside Ronaldo.
The opening paragraph on Ronaldao's wiki is cracking.
Ronaldo Rodrigues de Jesus (born 19 June 1965 in São Paulo, Brazil) is a former Brazilian footballer, initially known on the football pitch as Ronaldo and then as Ronaldão (big Ronaldo) to differentiate him from his younger compatriot and teammate, also dubbed Ronaldo, who was nicknamed Ronaldinho (little Ronaldo) before this was adopted by Ronaldinho Gaúcho.
Man Utd really shouldn’t waste their time with Pulisic. Not sure another fast player cutting in from the left is what they need.
Think of the shirt sales, though. They could put his face on the burger bottle and make gazillions before siphoning it off to the Glazers.
We need to sign everyone and anyone because it's part of a well thought through plan.
