Absolutely haemorrhaging money.
When do we get out 50% back, Baz?
Absolutely haemorrhaging money.
When do we get out 50% back, Baz?
How does Barrington explain this to his Mrs and dad?
The comeback is on!
Back into the 3s now. Bazbot going to be lolling its tits off when it banks its daily 100 later.
This is the ultra conservative settings remember.![]()
Christ, some of Baz's bot bro's are going to be sleeping under bridges tonight.
Probably been the biggest single day [not even that] run in one direction all year, in fairness.
I just want to remind everyone that they gave Mellin 2 rolls of the dice. Be fair dickheads. Same stakes again, minimum. Crank the settings to 100.
"We only have to get lucky once."
The thing I want to know is would the bot be running riot if it had decided to back the Euro when it kicked off today?
Not by the same amount it’s lost but yes we’d be hundreds up.
I love a shambles.
Can someone bump the link? I fancy some rubbernecking.
See, this is what I was trying to get at. It strikes me as being similar to an approach I took towards cash out betting on the Ryder Cup years ago. You make a bunch of random selections and then either back them more, or cash them out depending on how things are going. The temptation was always to take your winnings early [which is I guess what the bot does] when you were on the upside, whilst you leave your bad picks to fester and either wipe out your initial stake or accrue more losses as they go down.
I'm sure there's a similar thing with stock picking where you just end up with a bunch of meh if you are always selling things that do well and/or cutting your losses on shit stuff at the earliest possible opportunity.
Hundreds up v thousands down doesn't sound a good deal, which is why I was wondering if it was better to let the bot back itself into a corner and then hope the market turns before your balance does.
If it drops to 1.03 you'll be laughing. Does the bot just hold and hold until it either dies or wins?

It's not just interest rates really, we're in a prolonged bear market with incoming recession. Running a bot is as risky as just straight up trading right now and will be for a while.
You're gonna have some calm days when you'll see your 150 quid gains, but then it's just gonna spunk the bed and lose ya a few grand. Gonna be like this for a while i think, prob til 2024.
Accumulate and hold end of this year/through next year if you wanna make some good money.
Always surprises me how many traders actively trade cash/cash pairs. Spikes can be glorious even if small relatively.
Hopefully this isn’t the akehurst retirement fund.
@ds - throw me some signals of what to buy/when. I’m interested in slinking some money into this bear. Max £1k in crypto, other companies open.
Bitcoin going to bottom about $15k?
I'd see BTC bottom around 15k, 10k or sub as max pain. Most alts will prob drop another 50% or so.
As for what to buy, besides the big lads (BTC, ETH, ADA etc) it won't be clearer til nearer new bullrun. Every year has its flavour thing 2020 was Defi, 2021 first part of year was crypto gaming (which was when I traded) latter part NFTs.
I wouldn't touch alts for a while. I'd just stack BTC_ETH, no matter how small the buys are but when you have free funds, then research and switch some around as general economy returns to a norm and it starts to climb consistently.
Don't ever try to buy the absolute bottom, or sell the absolute top. And sell along the way. Profits are profits.
I'm looking to have minimum 2k in the market before 2024.
Yeah I sold all the eth I had at $3300-3500 so I could just buy it back if it gets back to $1000 or so.
I think I originally bought Bitcoin in the $10-12k back in the 2018 or so would basically just be resetting that.
I wouldn’t do much, just £1k or so.
Gotta be something you’re willing to lose right? And If I’m willing to lose £300 on TTH I might as well lose £1000 on pretend money.
As one person said, most of the altcoins worth investing haven't been invented yet. Most of the ones there today will die soon.
Group chat got renamed to “Martingale simply does not work *”
I think we’re cooked.
I'm a twit
I just want to see the conversation barrington is gonna have with his dad.
He had better stream it on Twitch.
Right strat to follow mate. If you're prepared to put in tens, even hundreds of hours of research into alts, that is where you can make ridiculous gains. It's just way riskier.
90% of alts from 2015/16 are essentially dead, same will happen this cycle.
New ones will appear, most will make you money, 5-10 of the thousands that pop up will make you rich.
Last cycle it was shib, doge, axs, bnb, sol and luna (lol). One of those is already dead, three may as well be.
But this should be in the other thread, really.
Also, as spikey/offy will remember: CHR 4 LYFE #ONEBROS
Lad I work with bought one full bitcoin a few weeks ago.![]()
It's made a few hundred back up in an hour. It was working yesterday and the day before, so put it down to a wank event and kill the stream until December (or it runs out of money by Tuesday).
Going down again.
I've still got GME...
It doesn't need to be any more complex than buying and setting a stop-loss. The worst that could happen is that you get stopped out and then it rallies and you miss it. No biggie.
Stop loss is for. fannies. There's no way I didn't set one and lost 500 overnight on LTO. Not at all.
Yep, I’ve fucked off stop losses from 7ombot. Only takes a run of a few stops being executed and you’re down terrible.
Nice of 7om to get his excuses out before we pile in.
Like anything, you've got to put the time in to reap the rewards. I do at most a couple of hours a week so I've only made very modest gains over the years. I'd need to do like 16 hour days if I wanted to replace my salary.
At the moment, yeah. Back in 2019 you could have bought dog shit and trippled your money. We didn't know how good we had it.
Close the clubs.
only down £1300 now.![]()
We'll end up £4 up for the week and celebrate like we've won the Euromillions.
I reckon that might well get into some decent profit once the US wakes up.
