It’s ridiculous how far above and beyond Britt Baker is from the rest of the womens division, in every single aspect of professional wrestling.

You must mean other than Stephanie McMahon, who invented womens wrestling though, right?

Should be fun, yeah. I assume it'll be more games than trivia to give it a chance of being even.

Ember Moon confirming (not in so many words) that in Vince and Bruce's NXT they basically wanted the women to all dress tartier and wiggle their tits more.

    How utterly unsurprising.

I've not watched NXT since the days of Bayley/Nakamura, but isn't there a woman on there now that wears a skin tight green thing, tits popping out of it and her gimmick is a sexy pin?

    Vince will never change.

If it's what I'm imagining then there's a proper name for it, isn't sexy pin just what the OSW guys call it?

Showing up how little NXT I see now but who even is that?

But yes, that feels very Vince / Bruce / Johnny Ace.

NXT releases have happened. Biggest names are Dakota Kai and Malcolm Bivens.

They clearly didn't have a clue what to do with Kai. And Bivens can do better.

I know gus current gimmick was shit but Boudreax is an odd one given he seemed a much hyped PC prospect for ages.

Lumis was only a so so worker, or for the style WWE had him doing anyway, but I thought his commitment to and command of his character was incredible, even if that character was a bit meh.

"Dexter Lumis" was always the name you simply don't give a guy you ever have any intention of doing anything proper with.

No spoilers but Wrestling Dontaku was pretty great if anyone is in two minds about checking it out. Lots of American/AEW involvement if that helps those who aren’t too familiar with the product.

The main thing I've taken from this is how fucking jacked he was before he got to the Fed.

EDIT: Oof. This gets kind of exploitative at the end. A bit like the Gazza documentary but with no domestic violence. Although he does seem to love the work they give him.

I think this is my favourite Twitter account.

His timeline is well worth a scroll. Clearly loves AEW as watches it every week but absolutely hates it at the same time.

I watched some of this while I was doing something else on Saturday morning. Not sure if it was new or not (though a once McMahon looked like a corpse) but in the whole hour I think there was only the one “fight” right at the end, and it was terrible even by wrestling standards. Is it expensive to get in to those things because the place was rammed to end up seeing very little.

You know how sport coverage in the US is littered with ad breaks? Imagine if you could do away with the sport bit. That's WWE these days. At least that's the impression I got.

Google tells me they're anywhere from about $30 to $120 for a Raw ticket and I assume Smackdown is the same. But yeah, not unlike them these days to not actually have many matches on their TV shows, it's a bit of a pisstake and having been to a Raw in Glasgow can confirm just makes it even worse for the live audience when it's already not a show catered to the people who're actually there.

And yes, Vince looks basically dead and should have stopped appearing on TV about five years ago.

If they had their way they'd probably do away with the matches altogether and just make every segment a crap soap opera / sitcom "bit" with some product placement tie-in.

Do you get ITV in bottom Ireland? Search All Elite Wrestling on the hub and get Dynamite on.

Also if AEW ever comes to the UK (Craven Cottage) I better get tickets.

The WWE doing better than ever financially despite putting out absolute dross for years is a great argument against free market capitalism.

This was on Virgin Media 2. It normally shows repeats of the chase from various countries and UK tipping point, which is why I wasn’t sure if this wrestling was new (a lad in a suit with a neck tattoo and a long haired man in a pyjamas seemed to be what the show revolved around).

I don’t know what all of your other words meant, but this experience hasn’t whetted the appetite for any more of it or other forms of it.

I’ve never watched NXT properly but surely there is no way back for them to be taken seriously after doing a storyline where a guy wanked so much he could return from injury quicker.

I saw a bit where the narcoleptic girl in pyjamas turned someone's sunbed right up so they got horribly burned. Skin cancer is a dark route for such a bright show.

Just getting around to this and Tana / Ishii was something else, what with his gravely knees (and weird WK ladder matches) it's easy to forget just how good Tanahashi is.

So a 13 year old Family Guy joke and a 16 year old Final Destination reference? Vince with his finger on the pulse as per always.

TBF there was a long running storyline where Big E would carry round his testicles in a jar and he got stronger by drinking the testicular pickle water.

The Dark Side Of The Ring bit on Dynamite was very good.

Great spot fest between Darby and Jeff Hardy too.

Probably one of the only people in the world who wants JAS to smash BCC.

Watched some bits and pieces of wrestling from the last week.

Alexander vs Ishii - There wasn't an awful lot of selling in this but I do enjoy two hard blokes just smacking each other about. Can't quite get on board with Alexander's headgear though.

Rollins vs. Rhodes - Was surprised that Cody won but they're still doing the 'bury the new guy in an endless initial feud.' Thought it was a really good match though. These two have really good chemistry. They really need to give Rollins some wins though. Just checked and he's not won a PPV match other than by DQ since June.

RKBro / McIntyre vs. Bloodline - I mean it's a house show match, isn't it? But it was a lot of fun and while it's a classic trope in this sort of setup I thought they did the thing of Roman dodging McIntyre until he fucked up a tag and ended up in the right with him quite well. Not really sure why the finish wasn't McIntyre pinning an Uso though.

Hardwood vs. Cole - Hardwood wrestling as a singles babyface is odd but he did it really well here and it was a decent match. He also does a really good Sharpshooter and the pop for that was mega, but Cole still looks like he's in the bottom 5% of pro wrestlers I've who I'd expect to win a real fight.

The MJF contract signing was fun. MJF is great, of course, but his "heel in his hometown" schtick was awesome. I got a big chuckle out of "people in the cheap seats, you're poor but you're still beautiful."

Tanahashi vs Moxley vs Ospreay vs Juice from last night is well worth a watch. They went absolutely all out and could have easily done an extra 5-10 minutes. Moxley and Ospreay have tremendous chemistry.

Enjoyed Cody's Broken Skull episode. It doesn't have one top anecdote or funny moment or anything, he just talks about wrestling in an interesting way.

I only know of him from one Quizzlemania appearance but yeah I can see that being a bit of a personality mismatch.

Sounds like Naomi and Banks walked out on RAW last night, due to Banks' disagreements with creative and feeling like they aren't being respected as womens tag champs.

Naomi was booked to win the match to name a #1 contender too.
