It would be very WWE if they went into the night halving the number of world champions and managed end up with non active for a bit.
Unless they're going to do another new belt which would be absolutely baffling.

The only reason I don't think Reigns can be injured is because surely if it was.... you call an audible and let Brock win. Unless of course Brock is done (but that doesn't seem to be the case).
But yea... that didn't seem like the planned finish, at all.
I think they would've announced something by now if his arm was crocked. Unless he's going to drop it in a squash on Raw or something.
He should drop both belts to Veer tonight.
I really liked Mania and thought it was the best in a while.
I also called that the Zayn/Knoxville fight would be the best match of the event and for me it was. It was everything I wanted and more.
The PPV/PLE might have been low on technical wrestling (and when they tried it with Edge it was boring) but it was really entertaining.
I don’t like sports entertainment really. I only come in here because it doubles up as a general wrestling thread.
I think wrestling is at it's best when it's doing both hence why I liked this era of AEW prior to Punk and Daniel Son coming in. You'd have Ray Fenix and Pac have a banger and then you'd have Matt Hardy being dumped in a swimming pool and being baptised and reborn as his various characters up to and including various Matt Facts popping up on screen or Jericho and MJF doing a broadway show. It's dumb. Wrestling is at it's best when it's Panto meets big blokes smashing each other.
edit: When I got into it a big spooky undead man was having a fight with his brother who wore a mask and spoke through a voice box because the spooky undead man had killed his parents in a fire and a guy who wore a gnarled mask because he was a freak was also a 70s hippy and Stone Cold Steve Austin was hitting vince mcmahon with a piss pan and asking for a 'price check on a jackass' while bowling Booker T through a pile of melons. Wrestling is dumb. That's why its great.
I'll agree with that. They can't kill each other for our amusement any more so I'll gladly take the dumb. Not that I watch much these days.
Can I have my gimmick of being the most miserable back soon?
It should be clear by now that you don't watch WWE for great wrestling, it happens occasionally but they're much better at all the mad pantomime stuff.
I'm not interested in Jackass so I skipped it and that was the extent of my comment on it.
Specifically because I don't want to watch something I know I'll not enjoy and then whine about it. (I'll concede the point on the Edge match because I was really hoping AJ would get something out of him and for about three minutes I thought he was going to.)
Why Ben is tuning in if he hasn't enjoyed a Mania in a decade (or why Browning tunes in for 95% of it) is beyond my ken.
The biggest disappointment across the weekend was the unfulfilled promise of Shane-o-Mac.
If they were doing it on purpose (it's so hard to tell with WWE, sometimes they're capable of masterful stuff) then I thought they did a great job of creating just enough doubt over Rollins facing somebody who wasn't Cody.
Unless it was just me but between the lights going down and the "wrestling has more than one royal family" there was just a moment where I was waiting for the gong.
Imagine if they'd done that and had people going "oh well no Cody but at least we've got the Undertaker" THEN Here Comes The Money had hit.
Glass shatters, Shadowboxin' Shane sweats his way down the ramp.
I only watch the Rumble and Mania these days, I don't bother with anything else. Even those are normally shite, but this mania was an exception.
Someone pointed out to me that Cody has all his people in the front row while Seth was in the ring, so there wasn't any doubt for me, but going into the event I think they'd created some, especially with the "reports" Cody didn't want to do Mania.
All this is irrelevant anyway. Veer is coming. It's all going to be okay.
Five pounds on him being billed from Planet Funk.
I'm going with "Russian supervillain."
How did I miss the Great O Khan getting a sweet certificate for beating up nonces.
Of course Ben is a wee mark
He tuned in for the same reason we all did.
The rumours of The Best in the World making an appearance.
This was great, gutted the gif doesn't have Austin laughing about it afterwards in.
Elias being repackaged as his own kid brother is very WWE.
This is the version that was shown in RAW lol.
It’s got Sandow vibes, this. He’ll be on AEW Dark by the summer.
Just listening to Wrestletalk's night 2 review.
They were really excited for Raw.
Some folks don't learn, I guess.
Nash Carter (who just won the NXT tag titles with Wes Lee at the weekend) has since been released.
There was a picture of him doing a Nazi salute or something as well, sounds like they had a cracking marriage. Bloody hell
Bit hypocritical of them on a weekend where a wife beater was in some of the most prominent moments of Wrestlemania.
Two more NXT name changes on Smackdown I see. Raquel Gonzalez becomes Raquel Rodriguez which is at least her real name.
However Marcel Barthel becomes "Ludvig Kaiser."
That's atrocious.
It’s pretty bad but I’m not sure it’s much worse than Marcel Barthel in all honesty.
Butch being jobbed out to Xavier Woods though....
Marcel Barthel is at least just a normal sounding name. It's not cool or anything but it's not fucking Ludvig Kaiser.
"Butch" will be doing absolutely nothing on main roster.
WALTER's music has gone from one of the best to generic wrestler 87 too.
Moxley / Yuta on Rampage was pretty great, I really like what they're doing with Big Willys Bad Lad Club.
Yeah Rampage sounds like it had some good stuff on it so I might need to check a bit of that out.
I see it's gonna be Nakamura losing to Reigns at Wrestlemania Backlash: The Revenge. That could be a fun match but it'll probably be the template they have Reigns wrestling against most opponents but fingers crossed the Rollins match is a sign they're prepared to mix it up a little especially when we know Nakamura is definitely losing.
An hour of wrestling on a Saturday morning is just right, and if they start putting bigger/more prominent matches on it then even better.
I'm a twit
Yep, just watched this and liked it a lot.
And Baz I think at this point we just have to put Danielson's style down as Not Your Thing. The Rampage match wasn't a classic or anything but it was solid and did what it needed.
I also watched the Elias / Ezekiel bit from Raw (and very little else) and that's a very silly thing that's probably going to work on KO's comedy chops alone.
I see Tony Khan has seen the riproaring success of Omos and has debuted a very tall man.
Just what AEW was missing.
Yeah what a way to kill the end of that show.
Kushida has left WWE.
Meltzer is saying that he's going back to NJPW in June.
Did he ever get to turn heel like he wanted? I can't help but feel he made the move at the worst possible time so this is hardly a surprise.
Nope, it did look like they might turn him at some point but never went through with it.
I don't blame him. I reckon if NXT hadn't gone Dayglo he'd have got his shot eventually because he'd been in some good matches. It just felt like he was in that holding phase a lot of NXT guys went through waiting their turn.
Though as Disco said his timing was pretty unfortunate as the TV deal and the top of the NXT card stagnating didn't help him.
That said, nor did putting him in fucking "Jacket Time."
