Nothing can prepare you for the smell. The homeless problem is right on show. One of them had a hammock setup. The landscape is awesome. Canny weather.

If you drive and don’t mind paying up the arse for gas, consider taking a day to rent a car and driving up to Marin County or Sonoma. Beautiful there, Muir woods is outstanding and Sonoma is gorgeous wine country. Or hit the Marin Headlands or one of the beautiful beaches there. It’s all great. Plus you get to drive over the Golden Gate Bridge.
Your petrol prices are nowhere near ours. What's high for you is still very cheap for us. In your money we pay about $8 a gallon currently.
Muir Woods [and the drive over the Golden Gate] is definitely worth it.

I liked a few places I was in before like Austin and Portland but I’m very much at ease with the fact I’ll probably never be in the country again. At one time I’d love to have went to a Packers game but I’m not as pushed on that now either.

Orlando is good because there is a LOT to do, especially if you are only there for a holiday. We usually do a couple of weekends a year down there and rotate the parks we go to. It was Universal last year, during the height of COVID so there was no fucker there
If you do end up doing Disney most hotels have shuttles to get you around so you dont have to fuck about with traffic and parking. Well worth it tbh.

In Orlando I'd recommend having a look around Celebration, the creepy town Disney made. Proper Truman Show stuff wandering around there.

I used to work with a Disney fanatic. All of her office clothes were Disney, all the music she listened to was Disney, all the films she watched were Disney, and her fairytale-happy-ever-after-marriage that lasted less than a year, was at Disney World and the Honeymoon at Disney Land.
