Anyone bothered with F Is For Family at all? I'm tempted to dive in now.

I've been advised by a LAD at work to start watching Archer. Thoughts?
Do you like cartoons?

Watching The Americans season two:

Phil.
What a fucking man he is. After I had watched that episode the first thing I did was hit Youtube to find that clip.
The daughter is so fucking annoying as well.
It's that initial "....we help you", combined with the "is this little bitch fucking serious" look that makes it. You know he's about to go on one then.
Phil is hands down one of my favourite characters on TV at the moment. Elizabeth not so much, she kind of of annoys me a lot of the time. The Americans is great though. In fact it should be back on soon, I think.
Should I dive into The Americans then? I dropped it at an episode where someone broke into their garage and failed to find a dead body about episode 4. It seemed awful.
It gets better.
Season 1 took a while to really grip me.
Yeah, I would say it;s definitely worth persevering with. Especially now there's quite a lot of it to be getting on with. The premise in general is pretty ridiculous, but once you get past that it's pretty gripping stuff.
S3 is up there with the best seasons of TV I've ever seen. S2 drags a bit, but overall it's an amazing show.
And I actually find Paige to be somewhat understandable in her annoyingness (plus she's actually a capable actress). And she has the best scene in the entire show so far.
And Phil, “Which year? Because ’64 to ’72 were pussies, they didn’t even medal.”The intro scenes with Tusk playing are so good. Actually, the music throughout the show is stellar.
Was talking about Making A Murderer to someone I sometimes work with the other day. She couldn't decide whether to watch it cos she didn't really get what it was about. After I'd gone over the basic premise she thought for a bit and then said "you know what it sounds like, only not as good, and you should definitely watch on Catch Up... Silent Witness. It's brill."![]()

Netflix are, apparently, close to ordering a Punisher series after they like Jon Bernthal's portrayal in the upcoming Daredevil season.
Is that any good? I don't think I've seen you mention it before.
We discuss it literally 5 posts up.
Ugh, forget it.
You're wasted here Boyd.
Whoosh and a half.
I've just noticed that The Fall is coming back for a third series. Talk about flogging a dead horse.
I'm three episodes in to Making A Murderer and my blood is fucking boiling.
Brace yourself, we've just got to the fourth and it's comfortably the most infuriating yet. Almost everybody involved is a cunt of previously unimagined extremes.
"A cunt of previously unimagined extremes."

Quite accurate.
While we're on the subject, since I'm watching too slowly to dare open the dedicated thread, minor spoiler up to episode four of Making a Murderer:

All caught up with Endeavour and it's still really good. It's a pity that

because everything else about it is bang-on. Setting up stuff that ties in to Inspector Morse, the cast are great (Allam) and it's just nice to watch a good detective in a different sort of setting.
Okay just starting episode two of making a murderer. Looking forward to understanding the hype.
Less than a minute into the first episode of Angie Tribeca and I've lolled four times. This is going to be Naked Gun with Rashida Jones in it.![]()
I reckon this might top 30 Rock in terms of punchlines per minute. Every single line is either a setup or a punchline, and less than ten minutes in it's already gone deep into surrealist territory.
Rashida Jones can't act.
She can. She's not a great actress and she won't elevate material, but she has a very good deadpan delivery and makes an excellent straight woman, both of which play perfectly into what's going on in that show.
I loved Naked Gun and have great affection for Rashida Jones thanks to Parks, so thewas more for the intersection of two things I like than the effect they might have on eachother, but I've watched two episodes and it's justified on that basis too. It's really funny, and a lot of that is down to her ability to play ridiculous things completely straight.
Is it just created by Steve and Nancy Carell or is it also fully written by them?
Aren't most female actors usually straight? Just seems a little weird to note as a skill playing "straight" when almost every single role is a straight person. In fact, most gay people in TV series and films seem to be token gay dudes, for some reason.
He's not talking about sexuality.

Lost in translation![]()
Rashida Jones is not funny and a terrible actor to boot.
I still believe Karen was royally screwed over by Jim.
Err guys whether Rashida Jones is funny or can act is kind of irrelevant.
What's relevant is her sexuality.
Boydy, Bob's Burgers was back this week. Guess when the next episode is? 14th of fucking February.
27th September
11th October
