My wife is suffering a bit with covid currently and it's a reasonable view (if not guaranteed) that she would not be suffering as much if she had the jab.

It was "officially" recommended for pregnant women to get vaccinated as early as August 2021, when this fatty was preggo, and any continued hesitancy was identified as misinformation. It's her own daft fault. Hopefully existing pregnant unvaccinated women realise and go get jabbed, because having covid in the third trimester is bad news.

The twat I know is my cousins best friend and I binned her off facebook a year ago. My neighbour spent the Christmas period back home in Lismore, Northern Rivers and he told me the worst story so far and that is parents not jabbing their 13/14 year old kids even though the kids want the jab.
They're all alcoholic no hopers and there would be thousands of them done there.
If the 13 year old books an appointment with their GP and demonstrates that they are mature enough to have made that decision, the GP can overrule the parent and go with the kids wishes. That’s how it works here anyway.

Girlfriend tested positive this morning on a PCR. Has had pretty minor cold symptoms and tested negative on an LFT when they first appeared, but positive 3 or 4 days later.
Not seen her since the 17th though as she’s been down south with her family.
Double vaccinated and boosted but this is the first person in my little circle to get a confirmed positive.
Was due to play her at monopoly on the 31st but she’s isolating down there until the 3rd so I’ve already claimed victory.
I just can't help but stand by in disbelief as they both sit there feeling vindicated in their decision when one of them can't smell or taste anything 18 months later (which whilst only a quality of life issue is a pretty major one) and the other almost certainly has permanent lung damage because of covid.
On balance I think I'd take the lung damage over not being able to smell and taste. What a miserable existence that must be. You might as well have broccoli on pasta every night with Molton.

My unvaccinated wife has lost most (but not all) of her taste and smell. Apart from that she's really perked up today. Seems fine now compared to last night.

Most people seem to go up and down like a yoyo with Covid. Feeling absolutely fine one minute, then knackered again. Just make her rest, they reckon Long Covid is caused by people trying to power through.
Yeah, I'm double jabbed. Haven't had the booster yet though. Was going to see how this omicron played out.
Also worth noting I've not tested positive...yet. This is despite me sharing a bed with her, trying to fornicate, etc.
