Went partying in Omicron land for a week, got back, tested, clear. I swear it's been 3 years and still not had it.

I don't think the British state has ever instructed me to test. Just asked nicely.
Actually, I guess I should have taken the PCR when I came off the plane from Spain. Cuff me.
Jesus, if the ship has lost Jim it's in more than choppy waters.
Test 16 just came up negative. I'm going into the office today which has had an outbreak. As you do.
Paging @Giggles. Jimmy admitting to never testing and willing to have a pozzed up party must be somewhere on the shame-o-meter.
Anecdotally, I now know three separate people in work who have covid. Theyve been completely knocked for six despite the vaccine. Sorry, the baccine.
My wife has a PCR test booked for this morning after a very faint positive line in the LFT. Shes feeling a lot better today, she was a bit rough yesterday and started to cough. We need to be careful as she's 28 weeks pregnant. My LFT was all clear. Hopefully its just a false positive, I don't think I'd need to isolate but it wouldn't be much fun over Christmas.
Congratulations! (On the pregnancy part)
I'm pretty sure the lft is much more likely to give you a false negative than positive unfortunately. Hope she's ok 🤞
I don't have it in me to either lie about testing or vaccine. I don't see why I should even though my life would be so much easier.
I know I moan about our response a lot, but fair play to the government and scientific advisors for bringing this in.
Maybe, just maybe sense is winning over here. Meanwhile, in Europe...People infected with Covid in England can stop self-isolating up to three days early if they test negative twice, it has been announced.
They will now be able to end quarantine after seven days instead of 10 by providing negative lateral flow results on day six and day seven.
Health Secretary Sajid Javid said it would minimise disruption caused by the rapid spread of the Omicron variant.
He said the change was based on the latest guidance from health experts.
Germany announced that from 28 December limits would return that restrict private gatherings to 10 people and nightclubs would close. Football matches from that date will also be played behind closed doors.
Meanwhile Portugal ordered bars and nightclubs to shut from 26 December, and made working from home obligatory from that date until 9 January. Outdoor gatherings will be limited to 10 people.
Bars and restaurants in Finland will have to close at 22:00 on 24 December, as the Nordic nation sees infections at a record level. For three weeks from 28 December, restaurants will have to close at 18:00 with limited seating. Travellers coming from the EU's border-free Schengen zone will have to show a negative Covid test.
“Meanwhile in Europe…”
DRINK!
Finland's a cracking country, but they've run mad with closing restaurants at 6. Maybe as we did they need to try it to realise it does absolutely nothing.
Got me booster this morning. In and out of the new vaccine centre they set up for boosters in 20 minutes, good stuff. Got Pfizer this time. Felt like shit with the first two (AZ) so expecting to feel like crap with this one too.
How did you manage to get AZ first time round? Didn't it get 'not recommended for under 40s' status quite early in the roll-out?
Was it not under 30s that was the cut off?
I booked as soon as they opened it to 30+ in NI and that's what they were giving.
I think it was (is?) "not to be used on under 40's unless no alternative vaccine is available".
Got my booster Monday. Didn't collapse.
Had pfizer for all my jabs and had no other reaction than a sore arm, which is fortuitous. Nice to be able to go to the vaccination centre at the bottom of my road this time as well, instead of the 45 minute drive I had for jab 1.
The number of people I know with Covid at the moment is obscene. My wife's work has been hit hard, but she's off now so fingers crossed she's avoided it.
3 people from my work have it that I know of. Slight concern it is now transmissible via email. Watch those attachments lads.
Literally just spoke to one of my team who was in London over the weekend and started to feel rough yesterday, LFT's confirmed it, he's got COVID.

That was probably the worst possible time to be in London. Signs are that it's probably peaked yesterday or the day before.
The Welsh government has run absolutely fucking mental. Dishing out fines for going to work at the office but don't worry if you want to go to the pub that's ok. I thought the mentalism of making the supermarkets only sell essential goods last year and sticking plastic over anything things like CD's and DVD's was crazy but what they have done here is new levels of batshit.
I can even get the fines in general even if I would never agree with them but not if you have other sectors of the economy open relatively normally.
I’m clearly absolutely immune to this virus if so.
Indeed. It takes some going to top the YOU WILL NOT SELL HOUSEHOLD ITEMS nonsense of last year (which only served to screw with those who don't know how to use the internet, or old people as they're otherwise known), but they're really trying their best.
Remember RL tried to convince us there was some sort of superbovid and there was loads of kids in A&E?
What was it called now? PISS?
Pimms o'clock.
No chance I'd take a test unless hit by some serious symptoms. We have plans and I'm not arsing them up by testing for no reason.
I tell ya, poor Muzzies haven't had about 4 proper Eids and you got this dirty gammon lot mixing like they just don't care. Sickening.
Back to Wales, the nonsense has arrived and Drakeford is talking tough.
Yep, much better to disrupt daily lives and businesses ourselves, before the virus does. Must not let it win."This new form of coronavirus could infect large numbers of people in Wales, disrupting daily lives and businesses and could cause an increase in the number of people who need hospital care in the coming weeks."
I saw the restriction was like ‘no more than 6 people in one group at the pub’ I haven’t been to a pub with more than a group of six in a decade and a half.
Fales.
Fagic
I genuinely don't understand how Drakeford is worried enough about the virus to piss people off with further restrictions, but doesn't actually bring anything in that will make the blindest bit of difference. I mean, look at this shower of shit:
If it's to be seen to be doing more than England (while using old and shit English measures) then fucking lol.Groups of no more than six people will be allowed to meet in pubs, cinemas and restaurants in Wales from 26 December, the first minister has said.
And two metre social distancing rules are to return in public places, Mark Drakeford said.
Licensed premises will have to offer table service only, face masks will have to be worn and contact tracing details collected.
Outdoor events will be limited to 50, with 30 indoors.
Advice has been given to limit household mixing and use lateral flow tests beforehand, with a specific offence for having gatherings of more than 30 people.
Spectators at community sports matches will also be limited to 50 people.
The level of nanny state in this Welsh stuff is staggering:
"A day between social events" I don't even. The Welsh government has urged people to take lateral flow tests before socialising, shopping or visiting people and not to go out if it is positive.
It is advising meeting outdoors where possible and to make sure indoor meetings are well ventilated.
People, it said, should leave at least a day between social events.
The Welsh government are experts in giving guidance that nobody will follow. At the start of the pandemic they made a rule about not driving more than five miles from your home. How do you even begin to police bollocks like that?
I'd forgotten about that one.
When this is all finally over I can feel a COVID awards ceremony coming on...
Nothing will ever beat what Derbyshire Police were getting up to in lockdown 1, using drone cameras to spot countryside walkers and fine them.
It actually baffles me to this day that I spent 70 days being legally barred from visiting my parents three miles away.
Remember when people tolerated things like being stopped for a coffee with friends? Shortly afterwards Sarah Everard happened. That's solely on them.
Nobody said it was supercovid.
It’s superbovid.
