Are we sure there wasn't just a Best of Foreigner album released or something?

Sorry for posting links from 9 years ago.
I didn't even question how old the article was I just assumed something had gone over my head.
2012 was a great time to be alive. I think 2007 was the best year of my life, but 5 years either side of it were mega.
Fuck I'm old.
So Queen Latifah starring in the Equalizer has reverberated backwards in time and caused men to be violent twats.
Makes sense.
I also love the notion that anybody sane would think James Bond, a man who beats up and kills people for a living, is the sort of role model to stop men doing a crime.
*googles* 2019 intake. Yeah, thought so.
He's objectively wrong within the first few seconds so I assume it doesn't get any better.
This twelve year old girl being murdered by teenage boys is failed state stuff, and the sort of thing, rather than social media abuse, that we ought to be having moral panics about (see also: that lad who got shot in Birmingham by feral cunts). When Damilola Taylor got killed it was the biggest thing ever, and they had us writing about it at school. Now it's just meh.
Social media abuse is a much friendlier topic for middle class moral posturing, which is what people in power are interested in doing. Difficult questions are only allowed to be asked of lower-educated sectors like footballers and the police.
The David Amess thing suddenly turning into a social media abuse debate despite having literally nothing to do with it should be studied in sociology departments, and would be if they weren't part of the problem.
Remember when teen pregnancies were a big issue? That is sort of related, being at the thinner end of the paying retards to produce more retards wedge. Maybe if you rolled knife crime into school meal discourse you might get some results.
Whatever happened to teenage pregnancies being a big issue? Seemed like it was in the papers all the time in the noughties. Did they fall or what?
Think they've plummeted (along with drink, drugs and everything else) since the advent of smartphones. Much less boredom these days.
It presumably rose through the nineties and beyond as kids started shagging more but there wasn't any free contraception or 'education' about how it would ruin your life. Once they got that in place it appears to have tumbled. That sort of thing seems to inform the knife crime debate, since people think a youth club and the EMA coming back would stop sub-intelligent cretins getting into fights and escalating it.
Sex, generally, is down massively.

That credit bubble just keeps on growing.
This is proper lol.
They made 5% of the cladding that was put on Grenfell and Michael Gove - of all people - is calling on Mercedes to end the deal?
Mate, Mercedes made half the shit the Nazi's used during WW2. They've got UBS that were balls deep in the 2008 market crash and Hewlett Packard who made the worst printer I've ever owned. Truly an evil organisation.

"I am writing to ask that you take the same principled stance in relation to the decision by the Conservative Party to take millions of pounds in donations from property developers responsible for flats that have been covered in the same dangerous ACM cladding since the fire in 2017."It's almost like he has an ulterior motive."It also includes personal donations to the Prime Minister, including a donation of nearly Ł25,000 from a major shareholder in Arconic, the company that made Grenfell Tower's combustible cladding in 2017 - the year the fire took place."
These people are beyond shame.
You left out Petronas who are probably the worst of the lot.
The Tory party can get away with it. The UK system is now endemic for corruption and sleaze.

What a daft question to ask him.
Does anyone take money off the fire brigade who killed the people who might have got out? You could end up with your head right up your arse going down that road, so hopefully Mercedes start publishing crank letters about every shitty government/opposition decision.
The Fire Brigade got off far too lightly for their part in that. Sticking to a "stay put, we'll come and get you" strategy in a post 9/11 world is criminal. Especially when they couldn't get past the first few floors, but the people on the phoneline were still telling people on the top floor to stay put as their rooms filled with smoke. Only the people that ignored them survived.
I thought about this a lot when watching the 9/11 documentaries, but if I was in a situation with any hint of fire there is not a chance in hell I'd stay put.
There's a Dispatches on Channel 4 about it that I'd recommend. The Fire Brigade barely even accept wrong doing. It's mental.
I assume it's to stop clogged stairwells during any rescue attempts. I'd be out like a shot, though.
The official line is that each of the flats are cleaned cement structures in their own right and that fire transfer between them is basically impossible, so staying put SHOULD have been the right response. But that kind of falls apart when you can quite clearly see that the entire fucking building is on fire and it was getting in window by window.
There was just nobody willing to deviate from the fire pla that was in place, even though the fire plan was for an individual flat being on fire. Not the entire bock.

It was a very interesting dynamic how the fire brigade got zero criticism for basically doubling the death toll at Grenfell, compared to what the police get in situations of much lesser seriousness. It's a media narrative thing of some sort.
I suppose when people die because of the Fire Brigade it's usually a failure/accident. When people die because of the police it's it's usually through an act of violence.
It's hard to spin a shooting in the same way as you can people dying in a fire. You can't just say "we did our best" in the same way.

Stay home, protect the LFB, erm...

Genius. Problem solved lads.Other planned measures include using drug dealers' seized phones to message their clients to discourage drug use.
I always get reminded of this scene in the Wire when policy wonks start talking about drugs.
What an absolute pervert."Last time I did [this] I cried," Mr Garg told the staff on the call.
I love the idea of there being better and worse ways to fire someone. I mean, don't laugh in their faces (or they might come murder you), but if I am going to be fired, who the fuck cares if it is through a Zoom call, a meeting in the office, or a fucking letter?
I've been sacked in worse ways. "We just need your badge. We'll replace it tomorrow." And then I get a call from the agency as soon as I've clocked out.
Logically it makes very little difference whether you lose your job via text message or a one on one meeting, but from a personal stand point it definitely gives you the measure of the man. In this instance my measurement tells me he will be a manlet. 5' 8" maximum. I bet he loved it.

Boom.In centimeters – 178 CM approx
In meters- 1.78 m
In Feet Inches – 5.8
One on one meetings with 900 people? Nah, fuck that. They were probably all WFH wankers anyway.
He'd have various underlings that could have done it. There's no reason for a CEO to muddy their hands with it.
So he does it because he wants to and no doubt had a raging below average erection whilst doing so.
Being let go over zoom/teams is brutal tbh. The awkwardness will stay with me forever.

Wonder where that leaves LGBQT+.
In a call that large you could probably shout 'fuck off you twat' and get away with it.
