Now I’m wishing I didn’t bother half arsing Kante since his brother Dante’s Rulebreaker card looks very sexy. Shadow or catalyst on him and you get 90 acceleration
I think I am going to do that Dante. Probably end up with Nkunku too.
Made some upgrades defensively with Kante, Marquinhos, Donnarumma and Kimpembe replacing Valverde, Militao, Alaba and Oblak.

I keep eyeing up that back line as I have Kimpembe untradeable already.
Kante is tremendous fun. I’ve not used one of his cards for a while, but this certainly feels like I feel a Kante card should (running with a shadow).
Not so convinced on the centre backs or Donnarumma, though - which Is surprising.
Really? I have seen so many people run them. They seem like to 'go to' these days. As explained by their prices!
Finished off Antonio last night. Had to go back to the PS4 version as I'm just too far through this season/game to pick the other one up without a nobbling myself. Beat two previous weekend league qualifiers in the last two games, which was nice, but also annoying given I haven't made it yet.
Think I'll pass on Dante. Don't have an Uber Eats setup to go around him and don't think he's worth the 100k in assets without one.
I think it’s me adapting from Militao/Alaba who are more my kind of defenders with the ability to stride out of defence with the ball. Kimpembe and Marquinhos simply don’t twist and turn as well… but I’m getting used to them. The body types are definitely more suited to blocking everything in drop back, but I rarely drop back or drop below 55 depth.Originally Posted by Danny

Might try a second squad around Ligue 1. Dante gets a nice link to IF Atal which is handy. It’s a shame Marquinhos is still rather expensive as that’s another strong link.

Ended up with Robbie Keane and he's pretty good. Also just hit Division 3. I realise everyone else is also moving up all of the time, but seems ridiculous to be there and not be able to qualify for Weekend League. Hopefully this weekend is the one.

Doing these upgrades saw me get a dupe untradeable Ramos. So he went into Nkunku. Out of the two Nkunku packs I got RB Zakaria, Aguero and Aspas.
Rinsed what I had left and got Sterling from the last one. I can’t see him getting into my main team over Vinicius (he gets Mendy the chem) but I am liking him as an impact sub/maybe start off chem on the right over Traore

Got a bit bored last night (and no one was on to play COD WZ) so I ended up winning 5 of 6 rivals games. I think I am 2/3 games away from being promoted to Div 1.
I think that leaves me at 44 for the season. So finishing this weeks 7 and next weeks 7 will see me clear the 50 mark.

I was going to save you all from seeing me moan about weekend league playoffs until I'd gone 3-fail again, but game 1 has just finished and I think I'm in shock.
Naturally I come up against someone who has previously qualified, as that is my lot it seems, but having seen a red pick on the loading screen I couldn't have imagined what would follow. Not in my worst nightmares.

Game 4: Comfortable 3-1 win.
Game 5: Oh look, it's another previous qualifier and a 6-2 defeat.
It was super swingy for me too this week, Yev. Went 7-2 in qualifying last week, took me 8 games to get qualified this week with a couple of absolute trouncings in there.
While being battered in game 6 (we somehow scored 2 on the break and managed to take it into extra time, only to lose 4-2) it dawned on me that this (attempt 4) is far harder than the first attempt I had a mere fortnight ago and probably harder than actual weekend league last year. Thinking about it further (and combining it with it taking you 8 games to qualify, which is frankly ridiculous), it's because the people at my level and below will have largely run out of playoff attempts by this stage of the season.
My best chance to qualify will be in the first week or two of a season and I'll have next to no chance by the time we reach this stage - Which makes this the dumbest system known to man.
Oh and 2-4, I need to win 3 games in a row now. Not gonna happen, but one win to get rank 3 would be nice.
3-1 loss in game 7 and it's all over. 2-5. A game I perhaps could have won, but he was a much better defender than I am attacker and his 3rd had some major league bullshit in the build up for good measure.
EDIT: 6-3 win in game 8 and it's another 3-5 finish. I would give the last game away but as someone who can't qualify it's actually in my interest not to.

First had IF Gulasci and Aubameyang with the second having Rulebreakers Ripart, Mahez and Foden.
Third was shit though.

That makes sense, actually. I’d been putting a lot of it down to having played post-midnight, which I always find harder than earlier in the evening or casual friendly weekend afternoons.
