Batman trailer looks good.
I don’t like comic movies. However, Not sure what it is about them but I will watch and enjoy all Batman and Spider-Man properties.
It is a good trailer. Though if they're introducing this main big name characters this early (Penguin, Riddler, Catwoman) I'm a bit concerned it'll be too busy (you don't want to start a reboot with Spider-Man 3 after all) but fingers crossed.
I also keep looking for even one shot of the Penguin where I'd think "Ah yes, I'd have recognised Colin Farrell there."
Watched Home Alone 4 with my eldest son. It was shit and good in equal measure.
Looking forward to watching Home Alone 5 (think there is a 5).
I’m watching La Haine. This is the perfect movie. It never ages. People are even wearing Fila and Champion again.
New Batman trailer is a bit meh for me, I still worry they are overcooking it a bit. The initial trailer where they ask who he is and he punches someone 4 billion times before saying 'I'm Batman' just seemed a bit much. Hopefully I am proved wrong.
Much more hyped for The Flash featuring Keaton's Batman which is mad because Ezra Miller is annoying as fuck.
Watcher There's Someone In My House or whatever it was called on Netflix last night and it was piss poor, the critcal drinker would have a field day with it put it that way.
A bit late to the party, but Judas and the Black Messiah is a top, top film. Incredible performance from Kaluuya.
A Quiet Place P2 is a nonsense.
Dune has leaked, btw. 1080p.
Dinner In America was strangely wholesome, DS.
Titane has now pipped Dinner in America as my film of the year, though. Absolute masterpiece of a thing. Brutal, confident, stylish, French. All the best things.
Recently I have watched:
Slaxx: a horror comedy about a pair of killer jeans. It was ok, I went in with low expectations.
The Texas Chainsaw Massacre: feel like I had never watched it in it's entirety, worthy of it's cult classic status.
Night of the Demons: everything I want in a trashy 80s horror, good effects, decent kills and plenty of skin.
Slumber Party Massacre: despite what I said above, this actually leaned too far into the skin and not enough into the horror for me. Maybe this was the absolute tops when the alternative was going into a newasgent and asking for a copy of Razzle, but these days the overly long random nude scenes are boring and the violence doesn't redeem it. Not sure why it is held up as a classic to be honest.
The Fog: somehow a John Carpenter classic that I had managed not to see until now. It's good fun, the intro especially, but doesn't reach the heights of The Thing.
Saw Dune yesterday. It's been a while since I've read the books, but I think it keeps a nice balance between staying faithful to the book and moving the plot forward.
The visuals are great, as expected. So much so that I sometimes would have liked the film to linger on some shots a bit more instead of cutting to the next scene. In the same vein, I feel the Hans Zimmer droning is sometimes a bit much; some of the scenes I think would have been enhanced by just using the "natural" soundscape.
Those are minor nitpicks though, for two and a half hours it really flew by.
Watch it on a big screen if you can.
Sure. Tried to stay away from the more Hollywood and gore horror fare, of which has been a decent year.

I've been meaning to watch Saint Maud for some time now. The trailer had the mrs shook so it'll have to be a solo venture.
Saint Maud is excellent but not exactly terrifying.
I watched Sator today, can't decide if I liked it or not. Definitely in the more unique end of horror, especially with the production stuff.
No Time to Die was really good...

No Time To Die was really good and the ending was really good. A massive improvement on Spectre.
I sort of like the Uncharted trailer. It's got the tone right of being a brainless action adventure where the hero survives improbable bullshit. Because that's all the games are.
On No Time To Die.

From reading these I think I’ll be giving this and any future films in the series a miss.
Was damn good to be back in a cinema tonight. Was for The French Dispatch which isn't one of Wes Anderson's finest but it had its moments.
Where do you rate it amongst his films?
I saw the rest of Kingsman: The Golden Circle tonight on tv having turned it off early doors on first viewing: that decision was correct. Is it the worst film ever made to star 5 oscar winners?
Wes Anderson looks like somebody who only isn't a sex offender because his cock is deformed.
I wasn't prepped for the pace of it at all but it's not up to Moonrise Kingdom/Grand Budapest Hotel/Royal Tenenbaums level. Darjeeling Limited I can't remember much of so probably at that mediocrity.
The greatest strength of the Bond franchise is that there is something for everyone. I prefer the films with closer links to the Ian Fleming novels (the first two Connery films, On Her Majesty's Secret Service, the two Dalton films and some of the Daniel Craig films) while some people prefer the comedy and escapism of the Roger Moore films. Some people say Connery is the original and best. There is no right or wrong answer here just different opinions.
I would still give NTTD a viewing. There is comedy, horror, action. So much happens over the admittedly long running time. I would also watch any future films as the series could go in a different direction (it has done in the past depending on the strengths and weaknesses of the actor playing Bond).

I can't put my finger on what makes it inferior to the original but it feels like all the stuff that worked in the original is turned up to 11 but somehow misses. Maybe too much CGI for my taste?
It's definitely not as good or even close but I don't think it's a bad film.
Didn't like the stuff with Harry really but it does have Pedro Pascal who's very watchable.
Dune was so boring. A 2.5 hour first act.
Just back from seeing No Time to Die:

The Green Knight is excellent. Quite fancy rewatching after reading the wikipedia article on the source material.
Watched Pig last night, I enjoyed it for the most but it’s hardly a classic.
I enjoyed No Time To Die.

Completely agree with all of that Ian.
Thor Ragnarok is probably the best marvel film I’ve watched.
I feel like the line you always seem to see when a new Wes Anderson is out is that if you like his previous stuff you'll still like this one, but if you've already taken against him then there's nothing in *film* that'll change your mind. Which I think is particularly true of The French Dispatch, as there really isn't anything by way of plot or meaning in it even by his standards. It's just a vehicle for how many interesting and inventive ways he can find of presenting a shot. Which I think he does really rather well in it and kept my attention throughout, but I can definitely see people really not liking it at all.

Giggles' movie of the year, surprisingly.
Willy's Wonderland. Can't tell if that was so bad it was good.
I found the Bond film a bit dour. Competently made, nice scenery and all that, but I don't think I had much fun watching it.
