White or Henry then?
I'm struggling to make sense of that Taz post.
-
Bench boosting when you don’t know who’s fit/nailed is madness. The kind of madness that separates you at the top.
I was gonna triple captain Havertz but after playing 120 minutes against Villarreal I think I’ll wait for a double game week Salah TC.
-
One of my pay leagues is offering the £20 registration back for highest GW1 total (chips included) so that's also a small incentive even though some cunt will no doubt triple-captain Tsimikas and run away with it.
-
Sanchez, Steele
TAA, Digne, White, Tsimikas, Livramento
Barnes, Salah (c), Fernandes, Greenwood, Benrahma
Ings, Antonio, Forss
Is my current thinking.
-
I have this
Sanchez, Meslier
Alex Arnold, Chilwell, Targett, White, Henry
Salah (c), Soucek, Mahrez, Armstrong, Dallas
Ings, Antonio, Cavani
Couple in there I'm unsure about, mainly Cavani at the price, but we'll see.
-
Cavani is still sunning it up in Montevideo, I believe.
-
I just checked and it's twelve degrees in Montevideo but you get the idea.
-
Yeah, I'd read Cavani is definitely out so Martial could be on to start up front for United.
-
My teams fucking atrocious.

Bookie
Someone fell into the "Dallas got a lot of points last season = must be good" hole.
-
I dunno, I've seen plenty of chat about him still being a decent value choice in midfield. It was his goals/assists as much as the clean sheets that made him value last season.
Not sure I agree, mind. There are better options at or around that price.
-
Bookie
Actually that is true. If you convert those defender clean sheets to midfielder clean sheets, he is on par with Traore, Grealish and Foden. All of whom cost more. Maybe Jimmy is on to something.
-
Considering going DCL over Antonio, although it means having to draft in a total no-hoper like Obafemi to free up funds.
-
I had Dallas all last season so I'm just remaining loyal absent of better options, though with this Cavani news we're probably looking at wholesale changes anyway.
-
I, like usual, will not be revealing my team until after the deadline as I don't want you fucks copying my amazing selections.
-
Sanchez - Steele
Shaw, VVD, White, Ait-Nouri and Tsmiskas
Salah, Bruno, Havertz, Sarr and Gilmour
Ings, Wilson and Antonio
Haven't moved it around for a few days now.
-
Sanchez - Steele
Keane, Livramento, Bertrand, Ait-Nouri, Tsmiskas
Salah, Bruno, Havertz, Son, Buendia
Ings, Toney, Perica
Changed the team for the 100th time to get 5 good midfielders

Sanchez - Steele
TAA-Bertrand-Tsimikas-Veltman-Shaw
Salah-Bruno-Greenwood-Mahrez-Brownhill
Ings-Toney-Obafemi
0.5 left for the inevitable transfer of Tsimikas.

Sanchez - Foster
White-Dias-Wan-Bissaka-James-Coady
Son-Sancho-Saka-Martinelli-Havertz
Antonio-Toney-Calvert-Lewin
3.5m remaining.

Antonio 'Toney' Calvert-Lewin, notorious Birkenhead drug kingpin.

I think I've settled on this:

Starting with a 4-3-3 and moving to a 4-4-2 once West Ham start cracking under pressure from playing in Europe.

That's almost the same squad as me, I have Raphinha instead of Benrahma and Coufal instead of Digne.

Final tip with an hour to go. It looks like Balogun (5.0) is going to start up top for Arsenal tonight.

All in on Brentford defence?!

Vamos

In the final tinkering death throes. The worst of times.
Greenwood has gone.
-
And now I read that Everton are having a covid outbreak after green-lighting two of their players.
-

Very happy with my squad.
-
What made you choose Lowton over Taylor?
-
He had more points last season.
He's also beaten Taylor's best points haul (of 84 in 19/20) four times.
They're both bargains tbh.
-
I had Smith-Rowe in my team for a bit before taking him out and I wish he hadn't.
I think he's going to be big this season.

Toney robbed off an assist.

Should’ve been awarded to Chambers.

El Capitan

Havertz better not come off the bench

10 points from 5 players so far.

Big mistake not taking one of Benramha/Antonio.
-
105 points. The only way is down.
-
Are first weeks typically high scoring? Obviously both Salah and Fernandes having good weeks makes this a bumper no-brainer week, but does the 4 weeks of fretting usually add up to good first weeks for most people?
My nearest rival from last years dads' league has gone with Sigurdsson, which I thought was a bold gambit.
-
First week is usually high scoring I think. Probably helps Salah always does well in the opening game.
Son, Fernandes and Salah all in my team and I didn’t captain any of them. Heh. 71 points, I’ll take it I guess. Should have been nearer 90
-
Who’s that in our league who used their bench boost and got 38 (more once bonus points) from it?

100 points after bonuses for me. A great start.
-
That bench boost only got me 12 as my bench would have been Schmiechel, Digne, Lewis, Raphinha. I just stuck the West Ham boys in there for pretty patterns. Still, only a Bruno ACL/regression to the mean away from the promised land.
-
78 for me.
I'd have been up to 89 if I made the right choices regarding subs.

106 points. Only Sanchez, Shaw and Havertz let me down. Easily my highest scoring first week.
Think ill stick with Havertz and see how he gets on against Arsenal, I think I'll need to get Son in for him pretty quickly though.
