It could have been Baz for me too, actually. Those first two albums were great. And definitely much loved by the music contingent of TTH at the time.

No one is saying this way is 'fine' - it really isn't. Some people have used it as an opportunity to ask the question 'is there a better way?' but so far as I've seen, nothing comes even remotely close.
How would you have made grades roughly equivalent to 2019? Without blind marking, exam boards putting out the same papers and then paying examiners to mark them, you can't ensure any sort of consistency nationally - hell, we didn't even have consistency within the Humanities department. And this is why results are so skewed.
The teacher assessments massively favouring girls could probably do with some sort of official explanation.
That first album is proper mighty.
Even the second one hits a special place in me cos of nostalgic association.
But yeah, dumb change.
I'm a twit
It's especially dumb when you consider the songs they write.
Yeah British Sea Power are probably THE TTH music thread band. I got into them off here as well, felt like everyone that posted in ten songs was into then.
We should really make a concerted effort to bring back the "ten songs" format. It was great.

An interesting story all told but what I love is the journalistic pomposity around things like this:
As if he's going to answer an email to a BBC journalist: "Hi mate, thanks for the email. Yeah, been a bit busy of late but happy to chat on Skype, I can do any time after 6 tonight. Thanks, Dmitry."A military analyst told the BBC that some of the weapons technology would only be available from the Russian military. Another expert, a specialist on the Wagner group, said the list pointed to the involvement of Dmitry Utkin.
He is the ex-Russian military intelligence man believed to have founded Wagner and given it its name (his own former call-sign). The BBC tried to contact Dmitry Utkin but has received no reply.
At least the MH17 bloke answers his phone.
I don't think it's pomposity, it's showing an attempt was made for comment.
British sea power are one of those bands that nobody really talks about anymore on account of them being pretty crap.
Be like if someone told you they were really into cooper temple clause or something you'd be like wow really? Why?
I gave it a listen last night and just thought it sounded like your mate's shit band in 2006. Maybe you had to be there.
They're fine but from experience most fans are just REALLY into that specific brand of 90s-00s British guitar music. Sort of like genre fiction, e.g. like how my mum will read any old shite if it's a detective novel by one of about 4 authors she likes, and nothing else.
Cooper Temple Clause were cast-iron wankers.

. The High Court has refused a special leave request from lawyers for a four-year-old girl from Biloela who is seeking a chance to apply for a protection visa.
Tharnicaa Murugappan's Tamil parents have been fighting a long legal battle to remain in Australia.
The family is now in Perth after Tharnicaa became ill on Christmas Island where they were being held in detention.
Despite the High Court's decision today not to hear the case, supporters of the family are hopeful Immigration Minister Alex Hawke will use his discretion to clear the way for her to apply for a protection visa.

I've got Ł50 on Geronimo in the 2nd.
Don't make livestock into pets is the lesson here, then nobody would care.
Apparently someone in Plymouth has went around shooting people.
A completely understandable reaction to living in Plymouth.
So erm .... imagine being such a tart you have to act all billy big bollocks in front of a copper when there's a body right in your line of sight.
Imagine being so desperate for content you post someone's still warm corpse on twitter whilst describing the events as tragic.
If only it was like America and they would have had guns to protect themselves…
The guy that did it looks just like Igor.
Our first mass shooting in 11 years is one hell of a stat. Going postal in a British sense is usually a strong-worded letter of complaint.
Your reference point is about 50 years our of date with that one, Shinners.
These days it's more likely to be stabbing, a woman on the warpath with a high-heeled shoe or a gammon ramming people with his car.
I reckon we can pretend this one didn't really count, given the guy was American.
Apparently a screengrab from his youtube channel. Of course he does.
You could see it coming, really.
The real crime is that accent. What the fuck is that?
Plymouth, born and raised.
It's like a Farmer shagged a gangster and that's what was shat out 9 moths later.
Watched about 5 minutes, the issue seems to be a heady mix of expecting his life to be that of the top 1% and ranting into his webcam about his problems instead of solving them. Have a wank and a walk and crack on you fucking nugget, don't compare yourself to elite athletes because you did a course of roids once then sprained your ankle.
Ah, ‘life is hard’ rants at 22. What a dumb sod.
This 'shooter' business has to go. We're not American. 'Gunman', please. 'Shooter' implies that guns are a thing.
He certainly packed a lot into six minutes, he's had to reload at least twice too, assuming he only had the one gun.
Just watched one of this dickhead's videos. What an absolute loser, which is exactly the way he should be portrayed everywhere.
There will be a CLAMPDOWN on firearms licences now to cover for the local authorities somehow overlooking the fact he was a mentalist with a video blog full of shit.
Is there a video showing him on the rampage?
