If it stays like this for longer than 2 weeks, there's a good chance I can approve your membership Keeks

What a fucking night, comin out the sauna, saw a couple of BLM strippies with booties the size of [insert fat TTH member's name here]'s mum who were heading to their stripclub for their first shift of the new era. And then saved countless lives off my own bat by wearing a muzzle in waitrose. God bless freedom day.

The local pub is closed after a fairly hefty outbreak apparently. All staff isolating.

The local shop and hairdressers both have OTT signs advising that masks are still required and they will throw acid in the face of any rule breakers.

When’s big nic dropping our masks?

I only really ever go into a supermarket or gym and majority still using. I bloody hate having to wear one in the gym though (when wandering about, not actually exercising) and the thing is near suffocating once you’re done a decent workout.

Won’t be upset to see them go.

I found myself inside a gay spa in the depths of Soho today. Was not expecting to see the amount of cock and balls that I saw this afternoon.

Taste and smell gone now. That's the only thing I was concerned about but it isn't that bad. Marmite still works, thank god, but everything else is just meh.

I went to my local for lunch yesterday. Gone were the Argos pencils and scraps of paper to put your contact details on and there were even people stood at the bar.

    It was amazing.

Well quite, but no one else is doing anything to demonstrate against lockdown so I’ll take their conspiracy wank motivations over everyone else’s apathy.

I’m not quite sure people appreciate what a ludicrous and terrifying precedent it would set if we’re put back into lockdown this winter.

So you're worried about the "terrifying precedent" of another lockdown, but not vaccine passports to get into a club (...or potentially a pub)?

That latter is far more worrying imo. Especially when the f ing vaccines do not stop transmission.

But it doesn't stop it and it isn't 100% effective at stopping people dying so get it in the bin. There's no room for partial effectiveness in my binary world tyvm.

It does (slightly) reduce it yes, but it certainly doesn't stop it. Look at the figures doing the rounds at the mo.

If it was a magic bullet that stopped transmission in it's tracks then I could understand it, but this Delta variant is just as rife amongst the vaccinated as it is the unvaccinated.

It's a carrot dangling over the youngsters who aren't that bothered about getting vaxed.

The youngsters that aren't bothered about getting vaxxed aren't arsed about catching it, so how does that work?

Our deaths are <10% of what they were during the last wave with a similar case load. That's all that matters really.

Because the absolute numbers of fully/partially vaccinated far outweighs the totally unvaccinated. It’s the ratio that matters. I keep telling you this.

Which is fine, but Quince seemed to be implying that the vaccine reducing transmission was the carrot.

It is very transparent why he's insisting on 2 jabs for club entry, yeah. I don't like it, but I do get why they're doing it.

Well, apparently Vallance misspoke and corrected himself to say 60% of all hospitalisations were in the unvaccinated.

The more I think about this vaccine passports for clubs stuff, the more I'm against it. Why are these measures needed amongst the least vulnerable? Wouldn't they be more useful at Bingo halls and knitting clubs or wherever old people go?

It just feels like another excuse for old cunts to kick young cunts.

They're obviously massively unfair (and probably discriminatory - especially when it turns out race is a major overlap factor with 'vaccine hesitancy'), and it's such a blunt instrument to try and force people to do something that I wouldn't be surprised if the idea goes in the bin fairly sharpish. Not least because by opening the clubs now aren't a massive number of these currently unvaccinated people just going to contract covid (and thereby develop immunity) in the interim anyway?

I think it's Johnson's version of the Macron heavy handed approach. Get the youth to take up their vaccine then pull the idea and pretend it was never an actual policy and just advice/guidance.

The youngsters want to hit the clubs though. But they can't if they aren't jabbed. Here lies the carrot.

I do feel for the young uns. They've had it far worse than anyone else throughout this, even including the old and unwell who've died from it. When you're 16, two years of your life is 12.5% of it and they've lost all that, not to mention an education during it as well as learning vital social skills.

Those who were partying on the beach during spring break last year absolutely had the right idea.
