UPDATE: they've all got it
For anyone that cares....Yev?
The below is in reference to the Delta variant only.
Based on figures from 9th July. Of the people who died from covid, that being a positive covid test in the previous 28 days, 118 died who had received 2 jabs (i.e. fully vaccinated) and 'only' 92 died who were unvaccinated (No even a single jab). The single jabbed people amounted to a further 47 deaths.
But when you look at people below 50 yrs old only, 2 died who were double jabbed and 21 died who were unvaccinated.
The data I've taken this from is PHE.
Asda only offering a 3 month return on goods at my local store as the woman behind the counter said that they have been told to expect the store to be closed in another lock down soon after.
You heard it hear first folks I've been reliably informed by Debbi an Asda employee that we are all doomed.
*Sigh*
What a time to be alive..
Asda was on its way out anyway. Sainsbury's won't be far behind it. They offer nothing and don't seem bothered about adapting. When Aldi/Lidl roll out express stores they're done.
Just to add on the death numbers, looking at England's rolling rates gives you an idea of what ages are dying.
Per 100,000 people
90+: 4.6
85-9: 3
80-4: 2
75-9: 1.5
70-4: 0.6
65-9: 0.6
60-4: 0.3
55-9: 0.3
50-4: 0.2
The increases on the heatmap are a good indicator of how slower deaths are rising this time around. For the 90+ the increase began 18th May from a rolling average of just 1 per 100,000. During the second wave, it took 3 weeks for the same increase to occur in September.
It's a lot slower but it's happening to the same age groups. Bear in mind we've got an ageing populace so the double vaccinated making up a majority of the deaths isn't surprising. In some areas, the rate of infection in the over 60s is at the same level of the second wave but these haven't translated to second wave numbers just yet.
Asda is just Aldi and Lidl without the magical middle aisle of random shite.
Sainsburys fulfills a purpose as the slippery slope between Tesco and "No, honestly, you get what you pay for. Waitrose Tomatoes have an acidity that you just don't get in...""
I love how Shindig has developed into our resident epidemiologist. Keep up the good work mate.
I just like numbers. It should be Ital's job, really.
Yeah, to be fair, if you're not a mong and possess basic strategic knowledge of German till operations, you can get in and out pretty quick regardless.
As for you Spike, I think Aldi and Lidl beat Asda on quality and price and also throw in some random shit all over the shop to make it a far more interesting experience.
Sainsbury's do fill that gap, but it's not a gap that truly needs filling so they're going to have to wind it in a bit. Co-op is better than Sainsbury's too, although a bit limited, however they make the best onion and garlic dip. Not really sure how they're still about either, though.
It'll be a very Aldi/Lidl v Waitrose/M&S heavy future with Co-op and Tesco filling the gap imo.
Sainsbury's is the absolute go to supermarket for veggies & vegans. It's popularity will only increase.
Back on topic, I feel much worse today than yesterday. Second wave?
There's a bunker party two days after I'm free. Let's go.
What's Israel like?
Weren't they well along the covid roll out with a smaller and denser population then the UK??
Lots of Jews, but quite sunny for most of the year.
2nd jab completed. 8:40 on a Sunday morning
Had mine Sat am. Sore arm but that's it. I've never had a reaction to any injection ever, tbh. Stuck about five pints of cider down my neck a couple of hours after the jab so I assume I'm immortal now.
Avoids the queues though. My mate had to queue 2 hours for his first jab.
In other news...funny how only the MPs get to take advantage of the daily testing pilot scheme to avoid isolation.

Rishi is gonna come down with it, isn't he, the dirty delta cunt.
Have Israel gone into another lockdown since nearly vaccinating everyone though?
Also are the deaths there rising along with the cases?
Not yet. They confirmed 2 yesterday and have an average of 1.28. They're reinstated masks and that's it, although I'm not sure about any other measures. 66% of the population have had the first jab.
I went to the shop this morning and it was the first time I've seen anywhere around here where a whole host of people (as opposed to the odd skanky-looking scumbag) were not wearing masks. People are declaring it over.
Yeah it is more rife and I will be fucking it off from tomorrow unless somewhere where I am explicitly told I have to wear one or leave. I can't see them getting this back in the box if they tell everyone to wear masks again later this year too, seems like there has been a steady increase of people not wearing masks for months.
I refused to go into a customer the other day because nobody was wearing masks and got away with it. Had to go back the next day and they were all obedient
I travel into London most days, unlike you home working melts. I'll continue to wear my mask on the train if it's busy, otherwise won't bother.
When I'm next in the office, it'll be on for public transport and nothing else. Taking it on and off for trips away from the desk felt really tedious. Especially when I tested negative every couple of days.
On my recent train trip loads of people were sacking masks off, not just the delinquents.
I'll be fucking mine off immediately when in the land of the free. Also will not wear it where I can up here.
I went a garden centre yesterday and, obviously, most of it is outdoors. Everyone left their masks on.
I'm a twit
I wasn't playing anything. My minimal rule following will continue to serve me well.
I have not worn one in at least a month.
EDIT: That is a lie, I had to wear one when I took my daughter to the doctor.
Came back from Newbury races people masked up going in lasted about 10 mins there where more masks being flung into the air than betting slips...
Me personally I haven't worn a mask in 2 months and not once have I been stopped and asked to put one.
You have on the one side now people who have binned this off completely and the sheer melts who are walking around alone in a park wearing 3 masks with rubber gloves on and a face shield over the top.
Those people are completely broken and I can't see them coming back from the fear filled abyss they have sunk into.
Why? They're not damaging you. They're just looking like twats in public.
They were probably broken before but it's more visual now. No doubt COVID has broken a few extra people but any loons you're seeing were likely loons before or ticking time bombs at least.
The counterpoint is also equally true: all the wannabe Bad Lads / people who are a bit simple watch a load of gibberish on YouTube and get red-pilled into some conspiracy theory nonsense and then get emboldened thinking they're sticking it to The Man by getting unnecessarily sick and endangering OAPs.
Youtube comments are a minefield. I suspect you've got a few conspiracy twats but they're egged on by trolls who just want to stoke the fire some more. It's really, really hard to see someone come in and reason with them because they descend in greater numbers. The very epitome of a vocal minority because they're never off the internet.
It shows how macho you are if you don't wear a mask. Viruses don't respect betas.
That's why magic has it.
Masks were brought in to maintain a level of fear amongst the public, unless your wearing those n95 masks then theres hardly any point.
Majority of people that are wearing them have had them on their chin in their pockets messing with then with dirty hands etc.
The cloth facemasks that have become popular are nothing but safety blankets for the scared.
