Oh I know on paper England should win easily tomorrow. I just have a feeling it'll be different and less comfortable than the last couple of games.

Which is completely at odds with what you've been saying up to now. Bottled it. Unbelievable.

What I've been saying up until now has been the apparently controversial take that England would win something eventually, not that England were likely to win x or y match/tournament.

They are correctly favourites to win this summer but it's still only about a 4 in 10 chance and I suspect I'm partly anxious about the awful takes that will result if something goes tits up.

I never said that. I just said that they are, and deserve to be, bookie's favourites. I said that pre-tournament as well and was lolled at.

I think it was pre last world cup that the prevailing opinion on here was that that England would never win a tournament, when it was clear that there was a decent crop of players coming through.

I mean, if they do they do and so be it. But we've knocked a team out with historical standing and battered another one, so as long as we give a good account of ourselves tomorrow (and not shit the bed if we go ahead) it's progress. Next step is to do what we've already done here on forrin soil.

    This is so fucking dull.

Of course they could very well win it. However, I never made that prediction.

Why aye so serious. You can't ask for transparency whilst Newcastle's accounts aren't published yet. Everyone involved is a snake.

But you were much more positive about our chances before we'd played a game than you are now we're in a semi-final, against Denmark?

And I know it's dull, I've dealt with it all tournament.

That was a very shit German team mind (although I still did think they'd pump you) and the tactics Low has been employing recently have not played to the team's strengths.

I thought 6/1 outright pre-tournament was about right, and I think 6/4 outright now is maybe a touch on the short side. So no, more positive now.

I still think England are very likely to beat Denmark lol. I just said I was feeling nervous.

I suppose I should be grateful for small mercies, like Spain not being in all red, a truly egregious option.

It's run totally mad hasn't it? Since when do Italy wear dark blue shorts? The exact dark blue that Spain would wear with a home kit! It's either all the same blue, or blue with white shorts no? It's almost as if it has been specifically concocted so Spain have to be in all white. Have they worn these dark blue shorts already in the tournament?

Wales v Italy they both wore proper kits, so I have no idea why we're in this predicament now. England v Ukraine was brief respite too with England's dark shorts.

At least a Pedro or something.

So far I only recognize Azpilicueta, Alba, and Busquets.

Luckily Italy still keeps it sensible by fielding a 50 year old looking Chiellini

Spain have been brilliant, by far the better side, but everything they've done has come to a stop with Dani Olmo. He's miles behind the rest of them.

They all seem to suffer from a lack of composure when they get close to goal. Olmo has been the worst for it, but it applies to Oyarzabal as well. Even Pedri's passing seems to get worse up front.

Is Jurgen Klinsmann a fraud? I really can't remember. Around the time of World Cup 2006 he seemed like a serious manager.
