It's all hypothetical. It's not like our waves have been like-for-like. We've had limited testing, widespread testing, vaccines, etc. All that will factor at some point. Hopefully it just suppresses whatever the new variant (and whatever the next dominant strain is) gives out.

My local shop is pretty close to me so I can be seen leaving my front door wearing mine, despite the fact I’m not remotely doing so to protect me in the street.

I’m probably being charitable, but maybe it’s something like that.

Scummo couldn't organise a root in a brothel.

Aged Care Minister Richard Colbeck has made a stunning admission over the bungled vaccine rollout in nursing homes admitting he doesn’t know how many workers have got the jab

That's not nice. If someone took offence they could chokeslam you through the nearest shop window. And the police won't catch them this time around because of the masks.

Alot of these people could be immunocompromised and unable to have the jab. I'd probably be hyper-cautious in that situation too.

I sometimes forget to take mine off. I'm so used to wearing it all day every day at work I hardly realise it's there any more.

Weren't we told the masks don't protect you, they just protect the apparent spreading? Load of shit and utter noncery.

We've been told alot of things. The obvious point is that there are people that Covid is very bad news for and some of them aren't able to get vaccinated. They are probably pretty justified in being a bit ott.

Level 2 can already drink indoors, think Glasgow was the only place in the UK that couldn’t as they’re still Level 3 until Saturday. Think the main difference is just more people are allowed in your groups and soft play areas are open. Maybe no more 2 hour limits indoors but can’t really find anything that confirms that

Oh, my bad, I thought it was level 2 you were asking about from your post rather than the places being moved to level 1.

So yeah, I think it's mostly just more people doing stuff, maybe for longer.

Just picked up 6 midwife's that have just returned from Portugal.

They were all in agreement that they won't go abroad again and the only positive about it all was the airport's were quiet.

180 on tests they spent each, to top it all off one of the ladies tests came back inconclusive so she had to fork out for another test so she spent 240.

We need to wait and see what the data shows about this Delta variant tho. I don't know why but a few prominent scientists (usually of the Delta variant themselves) said so.

We should be rolling back the current freedoms we have. Fun is not a risk worth taking.

Zero Covid deaths in the UK and we have been dumping vaccines because Federal Government sent them to the wrong states.

The Prosperity Gospel is really doing a good job running this country...

And Melbourne has extended the lockdown. Lol

Edit: NSW will have a nervous 2 weeks as well.

You're just doing exactly the opposite to us. You did the right thing by shutting the borders, but you are completely fucking the vaccine roll out.

The States are screaming for the vaccines but roll out is at Federal level. It is as simple as Scummo and his mates playing politics.

It is the same with quarantine and returning Australians all at Federal level

Israel's published their myocarditis findings. 245 mild cases from the Pfizer jab. All linked to the second jab and appearing mostly in the under-30s.

I must have missed the huge swathes of teachers ending up on ventilators because they hadn't been given vaccination priority.

Is there a reason Teachers are more vulnerable than their counterparts working other jobs? Supermarket staff, people having to use public transport, etc?

This fixation on teachers is weird.

Teachers is a purely emotional argument, nothing to do with facts. JCVI have nailed basically every aspect of this.

They don’t have 30 people, highly likely to be asymptomatic, firing disease-riddle droplets directly at them for 7 hours a day, who are mixing constantly with others.

I’m a Data Champion and it’s easy to see that schools have contributed largely to the high rates the UK have experienced.

Even if I take your word for that, why does that mean Teachers should jump the queue? Doctors and Care Home staff were prioritised because they have regular contact with vulnerable people. Teachers (largely) do not.

The vulnerable are mostly jabbed now so fuck those fatties/biddies. Priority should be preventing the spread as much as possible and the biggest “hot spots” (locally, at least, but I imagine nationally too) are schools.

The number of teachers that haven't had the offer of a vaccine by now must be vanishingly small. We're on everyone over 30 now, right?

I guess but I just think they should have been offered it earlier, regardless of age. I know of "NHS staff" who work completely from home, who had their first dose of the vaccine before my nan.
