Smart TV means the 'box' part is incorporated into the television. I find TV user interface to be the simplest to use.

Get the latest FireTV. The 4K one is lightning fast, the interface I'm sure she'd learn, it keeps your most used things at the start anyway, and then you can set which show first too.

How old is the TV? Haven't they all been 'smart' since about 2015? For recording we just have a USB stick plugged into our TV.

If that's not an option at all then there's a few good options here:

Just looking for something simple that allows her to watch Freeview tv and record tv shows. Amazon firestick with additional recording features is easy enough for me but sounds like if it goes wrong. It will be a headache for my mom to figure out.

The TV itself is smart, but the interface is slow now. It's about 7 years old. An addi9tnal smart box which does it all in one interface, incorporated is what im looking for. I'll have to check youtube.

Ye something like that. One device, one interface that does everything. If it loads custom apps, even better.

Decided to give The Great Escapists on Amazon a go and I couldn't even get past the first episode.

So scripted, unfunny, unrealistic, shit dialogue etc etc.

It's the worst parts of the Grand Tour/Top Gear mixed with a tiny bit of Mythbusters but missing what made that show great.

Started on What We Do in the Shadows last night (although I haven't watched the film yet) and I love it.

I'll probably finish off the series before watching the original film at this point though.

Is this the first week that House of Games has broken their ‘Two women, one black’ lineup rule?

There are two women and an ethnic still, albeit the ethnic is lighter than some, and one of the women looks like a man. It's an unbreakable rule of television.

Been watching the US Office. Never watched it all, but it's obviously great. It's really starting to pick up now it's on its own two feet.

    What series are you on?

I’ve been rewatching it for about the 15th time and it still as good. You just know which episodes to skip, not because they’re bad, just because they are cringe.

3, I think. They've just united the two branches and Karen is still in the picture.

They've just started filming season 3. The film is a classic, but at this stage I'm happy to say the show is the better product now.

Are fatuous Holocaust/Nazism comparisons anti-Semitic (as the BBC link says)? That's most of the online leftist toolkit down the drain if so.

I haven't seen her tweets other than that one, but if that's the extent of it then she clearly isn't a racist. Just lazy, a bit thick and apparently unaware of Godwins Law.

If you don’t really know what you’re on about, don’t spout off.

Fair enough, educate yourself, but ridiculous statements like what she said, especially when you’re a dummy, are just asking for trouble.

Unfortunately the "thick" and "prone to spouting off" zen diagram is nearly a perfect circle.

No, it seems if you're using the holocaust as a basis of comparison from the perspective of the left that's absolutely fine, but from the right? Nope. Not on our watch.

I'd personally rather no one did it unless it was actually warranted, which I'd estimate it never is, but people would be upset if they couldn't accuse Farage of being a Nazi so we are where we are.

Finished the second series today and it was even better than the first.

I can find Matt Berry a little OTT at times but he's absolutely perfect in the role.

Nope. It’s terrible. The plot just lurches from one disaster to another. And without wanting to spoil it, after a while the premise of the show fades away and then it’s just a really bad The West Wing.

She has been giving it the big one online for a while now, I think she made the mistake of thinking her attractiveness would protect her. Unfortunately her inability to act didn't help. Hopefully she is blackballed from Hollywood and starts an OnlyFans

I quite liked the disaster stuff. But you're right about it becoming a really bad West Wing.

    Wandavision is incredible.

I saw a lot of negative reviews based on the first three episodes (I personally loved them because they were intriguing and there was a lot of mystery behind them) but episodes four, five and six have been amazing.

MCU TV series haven't been all that great (other than Cloak & Dagger and the Netflix ones bar Iron First & Defenders) but this is some quality stuff and if they finish off the series with another 3 big episodes it will easily be the best.

I’m also loving Wandervision. I wasn’t huge on the first episodes, the bits right at the end where enough to keep me viewing though, and they weren’t long episodes. It’s really gotten good since though.

I thought two episodes was a long time to stick so hard to that set-up for Wandavision and I didn't really know how I felt about those, and you shouldn't have to say "give it x episodes" about stuff but it is very different from about mid-way through episode 3 and I'm enjoying it now.

I really loved the first 2 episodes of WandaVision. It wasn’t as interesting as it is now but it was still incredibly watchable and just fun. It’s better now though. Fantastic series.
