My knife purchases have lost all sense of perspective nowadays. Luca will see you right.

Baz, for 50 quid, get this and this. Learn how to use the honing steel on YouTube (ideally for a quick 30-45s every time before you use the knife, but honestly once every couple of times is fine) - it's pretty easy.
You could honestly then take it to a knife sharpening place like once a year and you'll have a great, sharp edge.
Scissors are probably the best things to cut up raw sausages, but I assume Baz doesn’t just eat sausages.
Although, on second thought...
I have Victorinox knives (rosewood handles) and get them sharpened once a year and they keep their edge fine. I use them everyday for all sorts of things.
I could probably look into how to sharpen a knife myself as I have to do my chisels at work every so often and have the stones but genuinely don't see the need for kitchen knives.
I’m thinking of getting an Air Fryer. They any good?
I'm a twit
I love mine. It's better than the actual oven.
Very handy. Smaller faster oven.
Got mine about a week ago and it's great, I'm never more than a few minutes away from having 'too many' roast potatoes.
Speaking of gadgets, I was doing a tidy up and clear out the other day and I’m not sure if my Pressure King Pro was a massive waste of money because I only use it to cook rice, or if it’s been a bargain because I can finally cook rice.
The chicken one is weird because even if you do get it cooked through, once you make it edible looking with a browning in the oven then you’d have one cooked in the oven in around the same total time anyway. Maybe if it’s frozen then yeah, but I’ve never felt the need to freeze a whole chicken anyway.
Ribs were a good job in it from what I remember, but they had to go in the oven after too anyway.
Shoved some supermarket bought pakora in my air frier and it was ready in 3-4 mins for lunch. So good.
Great for healthier chips, but also great as a quick reheater.
The Rick Stein Bradford curry is going to be made tomorrow but with brisket instead of lamb.

I’m making corn dogs to reheat tomorrow for the superbowl. Beef ribs marinading also, which will go in the slow cooker.
Had a bacon egg mcmuffin today for the first time in yonks. WHy do they not sell those all day?
I don't think I'd want a muffin outside of breakfast.
It’s not really a muffin. I’m going to get one in the morning now it’s in my head.
One of the main reasons Airports are great is that I can get a BigMac at 8am. Fuck McDonald's Breakfasts.
Worth it for the hash brown.
They don't do hash browns over here. Brexit was worth it.
I went for one in Spain and the best I could get was a standard bread roll with a slice of pork loin in it. The Europeans really don't do breakfast.
Crossaints are lush, to be fair. Buttery bastards.
We have proper options in the western extremes of EU, though double sausage mcmuffin or breakfast roll are the only two required.
Is there a bigger win going than accidentally making too many roasties?
Is too many roasties even a thing?
I pretty much always make more than I need but I find it hard to consider that 'too many'.
By "too many" I mean "in excess of what polite society would deem gluttonous".
My brother in law eats desert before dinner and there's no way he's a serial killer. It is the most (and only) exciting facet of his entire personality though.
Crisps last because they’re better.
For reasons best known to herself the wife bought some cheese and marmite hot cross buns the other day.
They are every bit as horrifyingly bad as they sound (and I say that as a marmite fan).
Avoid.
My wife brought some of them home yesterday and you have confirmed my suspicions.
I can’t imagine how they’d be bad considering the marmite and cheese thing but I haven’t heard a good word about them.
The cheese isn't really noticeable, they end up tasting a bit like a wholemeal hot cross bun that you've put marmite on. The dough still has that initial hit of sweet, then the bitter saltiness comes through at the end. They also have an odd odour (that could be the cheese).
I've had Marmite houmous and that's actually quite good.
Couscous is literally the last food I’d want on my plate if I was on death row and didn’t get to choose my final meal. It’s the worst.

Vegemite and cheese scrolls are good stuff.
