Mason Rudolph starting against the Browns.
Garrett v Rudolph II
I missed it at the time but I was reading an SI article after the Haskins release and it said that he got a lot of heat (and rightly so) during the pummelling WFT took against Baltimore because he found out he was on 300 yards and the whole bench heard him celebrating that.
That's not something that's unfixable but it doesn't say much about his priorities in this stint. Release might do him good though I dunno who'll pick him up just now. Anybody got a settled but old first choice who might fancy a project?
He wont get picked up this season, especially with the Covid restrictions.
He'll have to get a job as a third/fourth QB at a team during the off-season and hope to impress enough to take the backup job.
Bookies have the Steelers as the favourites to sign him which I could see. Rofflesburger is out of contract next season and Dobbs is gone at the end of this season and Rudolph hasn't looked great.
From what I’ve heard it sounds like he’s always been hyper confident, to the point of Urban Meyer actively refusing to praise him at Ohio State so he didn’t get even more big headed Seems like he’s just always thought he was good enough & would make it without any effort, but hopefully now he’ll knuckle down a bit.
Does kinda seem like he’s in the dying QB archetype of guys who can’t move or play off script though, so I’d be surprised to see him end up any better off than a Josh Rosen type run.
CFP semi finals are tonight, so looking forward to a good game between Clemson & Ohio State and Alabama dicking Notre Dame & pulling their starters in the fourth quarter.
My sky threw the towel in inexplicably yesterday when I returned. Ironic given I specifically returned to record and watch these games.
Hoping for decent games and spoiler free re runs tomorrow I can pick up.
Bama should absolutely smash notre dame.
Please tell me someone else just saw that harris hurdle live?
Jesus Christ.
Game over.
I’ve watched 2 college football games ever and I’ve just realised both of them have been this Trevor Lawrence kid having his shit pushed in both times. Are we sure he’s good?
I believe this loss takes him to a 34-2 college record, which is still outstanding. The first loss he did admittedly stink it up, but this one isn't so much on him. He can't help being flattened and seeing his defence concede 50 points.
He was one of the best ever rated prospects out of school. Sometimes it doesn't translate over to the NFL, but I think he'll be good. He's going to a team that's essentially starting afresh anyway, so they can build the franchise around him.
Tua has absolutely imploded today.
The dolphins might have actually made the playoffs had they just stuck the course with fitz.
Trevor will be just fine in the NFL as a #1 overall pick.
Justin fields is the more interesting prospect. Will be be Kyler murray levels of good dual threat. Or manziel levels of failure.
What he did to Clemson with his arm over the weekend makes me think he’s legit.
Would have been a fitting end to the NFC East there if the Giants had turned that over with that idiotic fumble there.
Untold levels of shitness.
Being lazy, how is a 7/14 team play-off going to work?
One team from each conference is on a bye next week.
1 more team and 1 less bye. Extra wildcard game essentially.
The Giants are stupid though. Eagles are tanking the Washington game hard to ensure we pick at #6 or better. I believe now only Houston winning would improve our pick. As for the Giants they were picking inside the top 10, but now they'll be around 11 or 12.
At this point should I just be watching the Football Team v Philadelphia game as it basically decides the NFC? I can't tell which games are important.

This gives you the live scenarios for each team.
Texans lead!!!
If the Colts win too we're playing them next week.

This game is batshit.
Knowing this game the kicker will push it wide.
Edit: I thought he fucked it.

So the playoffs...
AFC:
Browns v Steelers
Colts v Bills
Ravens v Titans
Chiefs - BYE
NFC:
Rams v Seahawks
Bears v Saints
Buccaneers v Football Team OR Giants
Packers - BYE.
Playoffs start today for all those interested.
First game must kick off at 6, coverage starts at half 5.
One ref thinking that Hilton caught that
That defender is a fool for jumping.
There's absolutely no chance that ball is being snapped.
Refs are on the take, he clearly got back up and then fumbled it.
Is there anything more frustrating than the good stream that goes down constantly but with just enough of a gap between going down that you go back to doing what you were doing?
Outside of the great TD pass, Russ has been dogshit.
Incredible.
Refs were on the take, but mostly in favour of the Bills. As much as the refs can decide a game with about 2 penalties in the whole thing. All those sideline catches at the end of the first half with the ruling on the field standing, then the microscope coming out to rule out that interception (I appreciate this is the somewhat morononic way the league has gone with that issue). I was amazed that non-fumble didn't get overturned, but even the mechanism for that, and giving Buffalo back their timeout seemed stacked in their favour. Was a good game. Glad the Bills got it done, but the Colts probably deserved the win, they just left too much on the field. Allen's attempted game losing sack/fumble effort deep in the 4th was quite funny/traumatic. Are you allowed to put your foot through the ball when it's on the ground like that and chase it?
Those stats Sky Sports just put up and incredible.
589 teams have made the playoffs.
This Titans defence is ranked 588th for PPG, 586th for total YPG, 583rd for pass YPG and 585th for sacks.
Marcus Peters!!!!!!!!
18 carries for 40 yards with his longest run being 8 yards.
"King" Henry has been dethroned.
I mean he rushed for 2k two years on the trot taking the rushing title on both occasions.
That was a pretty weak Tennessee performance though and they didn’t deserve anything out the game.
Would like to see a Raven chiefs game and a bills steelers matchup.
Yeah totally made that stat up, two rushing titles on the trot though.
Lamar is so fucking dangerous wriggling out the pocket. Needs to keep getting better with his arm though, some real dodge throws again today.
Obviously the pick was a terrible throw but outside of that? He went 17/24 which is perfectly acceptable and I can only remember 1 that was thrown a little low in the endzone which was almost picked.
I think the biggest thing in this game was that Greg Roman didn't panic when Titans jumped out to a 10 point lead. Last year the same happened and he basically stopped all running plays which took so much away from us.
Wims with that drop...

Yeah, that was a shocking drop.
Yeah I don't care who wins this but I still let out an "Oh noooo" when that fell through his hands.
This game is, unsurprisingly, shit.
Although slime is exactly what NFL needed.
Great start by the Steelers
This game is mental.
lol at the Steelers.
Got what they deserved. Should have put the Browns to sleep last week.
The Browns.
And the Bills winning a playoff game the same weekend. What a time to be alive.
Happy for the browns.. and the eagles shit show creates a qb and coaching quandary.
Wentz, hurts or the #6 pick. Who’s the starter and who’s the new top brass.
It seems that Doug wanted rid of Wentz but Howie was adamant that Carson had to stay.
Doug all season said he wouldn't bench Wentz because it was a sign that they'd given up on the season and on him. I suppose the move makes sense from the owners point of view. He's tied to a relatively large contract he's I think 1 year into. That said it has been reported by a couple of beat writers that it isn't actually all that bad if they shift him.
It does bring up a good "where do you go from here?" situation now. Jalen Mills, Jason Peters, Vinny Curry, Alshon Jeffery and DeSean Jackson are all likely out in the summer and it looks likely Ertz will follow too and they're all starters. The latter was hopeful of a deal last summer but either sides valuation of him didn't meet and he was told negotiations would not continue during the season.
The QB situation is interesting. Hurts looked good every game but the one we didn't want to win, but is that enough to decide to go with him? We know Wentz has the talent in there, but what's stopping it? He was the bomb under Frank Reich so maybe look to a coach to get the best of him as well as a HC?
It also depends what we get for Wentz. At pick #6 there's scope for getting involved in this years QB debate if they really wanted to. Getting rid of Wentz also pretty much gives the new HC a clean slate to build from.
Personally I'd keep him and see if we can fix whatever was wrong with him. There's early talks of DeVonta Smith being taken at #6 and if we can get in some other WR help, that can only be good for the offense. But we could go a hell of a lot of ways from pick #6.
