Played 1 game on Squad Battles and the patch has absolutely nerfed constant pressure. Completely ruins your players.
On its own that's a good thing, but as far as I can see it'll just make drop back, 1 depth even more effective as it's taken away one of the tools for dealing with it.
This game was good 6 weeks ago.
I always think the base version (extending into a patch or two) is usually the best.
The game seems to play a lot more free flowing and it's usually actually a joy to play. The more patches they put out, the more restrictive, defensive and soul sapping it becomes.
The packs are shit though.
You get a Premium Electrum for doing all the Madrid objectives (10 goals with La Liga players in SB, score using La Liga players in 3 separate matches with the Madrid kit, 3 rivals with 1 Madrid player in the team while using the badge and 5 assists with Madrid players in SB) and a premium gold for the team shit.

Ben Yedder is great - same as last year really. He's come down enough that I wanted to pick him up. Cost me 20k ish. Similar to Williams but the added 5* WF is better. Stronger shot too.

Doing the Saudi league and if you're opening enough bronze packs it looks like the most grindable thing ever. The prices for the few cards I have needed have been so low, presumably due to the packs being utter shite, but they will give you a near endless supply of silver cards.
