Can't imagine it'll be discounted as they're selling like hotcakes. There were rumours of a new version coming out soon with upgraded hardware
Nintendo doesn’t do discounts.
Asda had the Switch on at 239.99 yesterday. None of them near me seemed to have them in stock though so I asked Currys to price match. They replied this morning saying Asda sold out last night at 10pm but because I'd requested it before that they gave me a discount code for the same price so I've just ordered one.
Need to get some games now. Obvs getting Zelda. What else is good?
Mario Odyssey, Mario Kart, Animal Crossing: New Horizon, Hollow Knight and Smash Bros all seem to be very popular.
Animal Crossing, Untitled Goose Game, Streets Of Rage, Skyrim, The Witcher, Outer Worlds plus all the Mario shizzle your heart desires. FM is pretty decent too.
Worth picking up a case, MicroSD card and screen protector too: https://www.nytimes.com/wirecutter/r...h-accessories/
Is the new FM coming out on it?
Don't bother with animal crossing, its very niche. Get the mario games, fire emblem three houses, smash brothers, legend of zelda link's awakening. Pokemon too if you're into those.
Yeah, I treat it like a Nintendo box. And maybe if something on sale takes my fancy.
It arrived today. Haven't bought any physical games yet but bought Hyper Light Drifter on the eShop as it was on offer. No idea what I'm doing.
Golf Story is good, isn't it?
I fucking hate the disc golf though.
The disc golf is the pits.
FM's out now.
Am I going to spend thirty quid on it?
Probably.
This looks cool: https://www.kickstarter.com/projects...nki-shadowcast
That shitty ad told me nothing. So it is 7 inches, what is the size of the current one? Having an ethernet port is good, but definitely not worth a new console. Is the hardware better, or will all non-Nintendo games still look blurry as hell?
As far as I can tell, the dock now has a LAN port, the unit itself now has an adjustable flap style stand.
The current display is 6.2 inches so this is slightly larger, but I think this will be the first Nintendo product to offer "1080p." It's actually still 720p until you connect it to the TV via the dock.
Screen is also OLED over what was LCD.
64GB of internal storage, up from 32GB, too.
White dock, no thanks.

That is definitely not worth the upgrade.
If I didn't have one and were buying one, I'd get this new one. If I already had one, there isn't much point.
Grabbed Tony Hawks today. Kids might have to go to bed at about 5 so I can play it. Buzzing.
So Zelda is properly out now. I hear it’s top!
Anyone playing it? I am aiming to finally get into a Zelda game with this one.
It is genuinely on course to be the greatest thing I've ever played.
Absolutely phenomenal thing.
Everyone I know who has played it so far is calling it the first proper 10/10 game in quite some time.
Nobody else playing the GOAT then? Lads.
I was set to pull the trigger on a Switch but then the washing machine offed itself.
Do you need to have played BotW before getting onto this one?
Not really. Story is average at best. There's a couple of mechanics in BotW it doesn't fully reference in this, apart from that nah.
I'm completely hooked on the thing. Tops Elden Ring as best open world.
I am 2-3 hours in. Really liking it so far.
Whoever it was delivered to brought it back to me. Legend.
Can't go into too much detail because spoilers.
Thr vastness of scale, scope, and trust from Nintendo.
You receive four powers at the start. Two of them are literally game breaking. Like end of game stuff you'd get from any other dev. You can use them anywhere, anytime, any way you like. It's insane how they've balanced them to work from the off.
The game is probably the largest SP game made. Insane sense of size. But it's not barren, dead land. There is stuff over every horizon, stuff to always head to. And each thing is a joy, complete trust given to the player. Nintendo saying "here's your tools, discover".
Everyone I've spoken to has different results for every area. Every puzzle or fight. There's a myriad of ways to do everything.
I've had more joyous, surprising moments with this than any game before. Its outstanding to play, explore, discover.
I’ve played about an hour (bloody work and kids) but that post makes me want to run away and play for a week!
Gave it about half an hour and didn’t enjoy a single second. The controls are retarded, the character sounds are basic, your sword breaks within seconds of starting, Zelda is annoying and ultrahand?
Safe to say the GOAT is not for me.
I'm a twit
Genuinely think that's the worst take I've seen on this forum and we used to have Henry as a fucking mod.
I need to sit down and marathon Breath of the Wild. I got into it but it's so easy just to not play that game right now.
If you didn't like Breath of the Wild you will not like this, Mahow.
I’m at Center Parcs this weekend, evenings will be for Zelda
Unlucky.

A Switch purchase is on the table now and I'll likely be ordering one soon. The question really is which one do I get?
Lite - My favourite form factor and colour options of the Switches, however the inability to connect to a TV really kills the appeal.
So that leaves the standard v OLED debate. I myself up the page said the OLED is the one to get if you don't have one.
They now offer that Mario Odyssey edition which seems to be great value. The OLED models are ~£60 more expensive than that and they don't come with a game. However they do come with a better, larger screen and ability to play at 1080p on my monitor. I do also have some CeX credit that could get me a few games. The special edition OLEDs also look much better for the most part.
Annoyingly as said up the page, Nintendo doesn't do discounts and so there isn't likely to be one until their next gen hits. Though we have no announcement or rumours of an imminent one really, so I reckon we're at least a good year or two away from it.
You can however get 10% off with student discount if you go to Nintendos store direct. It'd take the Mario bundle to £234 or the OLEDs down just below £290. Assuming I can find a student to give me their code that is.
If it's like in BOTW weapon degradation shouldn't really be an issue because the combat is so meh it doesn't really matter.
I'll play this at some point and probably think the same if it as I did of the first one, which is that it's an incredibly impressive thing that leaves me somewhat cold.
Get the OLED
