When would be the best time to buy some RTTF's? (I want Zakaria and Klostermann), today?

Very nice thommo, BF looks a cracking card.
Got a Klostermann for 340k.
Zakaria 207k.

Nice @thommo! He is one I really want to get into my team at some point
@Mahow I think you bought well there, looking at graphs they havent been cheaper than that. They both have tough groups though.
They do but Leipzig should be fine for third at least and Gladbach have 2 home games (Shaktar first) so could very well make it through.
Would have been nice had they not conceded late goals to Madrid and Inter ofc.
Also, I've only played one SB game with them and Zakaria has a very similar build to Vieira. He's an absolute tank.
I saw Fnatic (Hashtag) Harry using his normal card at CB and swearing by it in one of his cheap build teams.
Just did the Silver Stars.
3 games, fairly easy with 2 of them being rage quits.
Will be nice to get Adam Armstrong out of the team for Che Adams.

Looks like UCL players are about to go up by a lot.
Same with the lower rated gold PSG/Bayern guys.
Wish I'd bought every UCL cad when they were cheap. Only laziness stopped me.
No Marquee Matchups either...?
I just got Lewa from the 75+ SBC
What a result!
I wasnt looking. Then I saw "Polish" and assumed Szczesny.
Those UCL SBCs are a nice touch. Gives them some worth.
The final has a tradeable pack reward.
A load of them do. The problem is is that it'll cost around 300k+ to do.
Didn't check the others.
Although the Final has the best pack and looks like it's the easiest to do.
Figured I could build a decent team with the UCL Cards I have if I buy Llorente so I started that challenge with a 4-0 RQ win.
MM are late but out
I did the "final" SBC since it was easy. Got the Messi bait which wasnt bait when I thought about it since he is IF.
Thiago Silva and some 84 from red player picks. Martial from the packs made it a good weekend.
I wonder if Silver Pack method is a way to grind these CL SBC's.
Unlike the bronze to silver upgrades you're getting three golds per silver to gold upgrade.
Ok, did 4 silver packs and there was easily enough in 3 of them to make back 2,500 coins and probably enough in the 4th too.
Plus the potential league SBC cards that come out are going to boom massively when required if EA carry on with League SBC's in this manner. Might sink a couple of hundred thousand into it.
Sorry to interrupt but how are you supposed to be good at this game?
Assume I’ve played every FIFA except the last couple and know the controls.
What should I be doing to get in/create scoring positions that isn’t just dribbling past people and using triangle to through ball?
How much of the meter should I be aiming to fill on a shot from range? L1+pass/cross seems crap now?
No probs Phonics.
My two cents worth... and please bear in mind I'm crap.
Get used to custom tactics and switching between them. You'll need a standard one (Balanced, medium other settings etc.) and a balls to the wall all out attack one. Particularly if you're playing the AI and want to break the fuckers down.
Pressing is overpowered, with constant pressure very effective (and it doesn't drain stamina anywhere near as much as it should), but even Press When Possession Lost is pretty effective.
Drop back and 1 depth, with 4 players told to stay forward is also very effective, but for me, it's fucking boring to play.
My preference is now a high defensive line, pressing when I lose the ball and fast(ish) centre backs to stop counters raping me.
Player wise dribbling and pace is massively OP, all over the park really.
You'll need to learn some skill moves, but just knowing what the buttons are won't be enough. There's a technique to each in order to pull them off well and even the ones I can do, people I can come up against can do them so much smoother, which makes them far more effective. The best analogy I have on this is if you've ever played pool or snooker. I'm quite good at both, at least still half decent at the former, but good enough either way to know that anyone telling you just to hit the bottom of the white to screw back has no idea what they're talking about - there's so much more to it than that. You have to pull the cue back properly after you strike and there's a timing to that too which brings it all together. As far as I can see Skill Moves work in exactly the same way. When you nail one you'll know, just like when you hit a white cleanly, you know the outcome you want is happening, even before you see it.
Some people swear by doing the skill games, but they're largely crap at replicating what you'll come up against in an actual game. Likewise the arena I find useless too. It's a different camera angle to the one you'll use in game and therefore just confused me when it came to learning skill moves in it.
When defending DO NOT drag your centre backs out of position. It's less so this year, but the AI will still do loads for you (getting them into position etc.) when you're not controlling them. Unless the opponent is right on your backline you're better off controlling a midfielder and bringing him back to cause chaos.
Jockey defenders with LT and speed jockey with RT held as well. Often you can just run into a player to get the ball back rather than actually tackling them, which has an annoying habit of conceding a foul if you time it badly.
Does any of that help?
Another thing to consider. Being good at the game and having fun on it do rarely go hand-in-hand.
There is usually tactic or exploit "X" that is the new thing everyone is doing. You can usually have fun playing your own way, but unless you do "thing X" then you wont win as much. It's just about finding what it is for that version.
Opened about 30 silver packs now, stored all potential SBC cards and have only lost about 30k in coins. If you're prepared to sit fortunes will be made. Most of the major league silvers are already going for decent money.
Back on:

Securing Squad Battles Elite 1
Marquee Matchups
Some more silver packs
Maybe some friendlies for objectives too
I can see why EA have done this "look, we're a responsible company", but as with putting odds on packs (still lol at how they did that), it's another thing that tacitly connects their game to gambling.
They're digging a grave for themselves here.
Thanks for the post Yevrah. Largely confirms what I thought. I was always a passer and one on one defender often as I was a beast with that lunge mechanic when they first made the whole jockeying thing key.
I find dribbling really boring so that’s a shame but I’ll see.
Did that UCL SBC Final and got Robinson. I'm kinda tempted to run this as my back four:
Telles - Robertson - TAA - AWB
Accidentally went into a SB game on legendary with my silver side. Won 11-0.
Che Adams is lethal but I have no idea why he's ginger in game.
I have done the 500 goals with an 85+ rated squad now and have decided that the pack saving for TOTY starts NOW.
Jumbo rares could be big in January.
It might be considered so in some countries, but it isn't in England. Children wouldn't be allowed to play it here were it so. Just in case you're not clear on my stance, it absolutely should be considered gambling as that's what it is.
As for their inclusion of the odds, the way they did it was a huge fuck you to all those who have a problem with their 'surprise mechanics' and won't remotely save them when this gathers the legs it needs to see it banned.
Right. Listings promos as odds of >1% when in reality that could be >0.000000001 if they saw fit is nonsense
The European version is exactly the same as the UK version. It's to satisfy other regulators.
In case you haven't seen it:

Shambles.
2k are worse.
They list the odds but in some countries to get around regulations they've just banned those countries from being able to use the auction house.
EA have always maintained it isn't gambling, they even sent one of their suits (a Mumsnet version) to speak to parliament here, in which they defended their position with a load of shite, that sadly our suits didn't understand enough about to challenge properly.
The things they've done so far is to take heat off themselves in a a self-regulatory way, which is exactly what they're doing with that additional shit above. If they were behaving like an actual regulated gambling company does then the limits and spend summaries wouldn't need to be converted from FIFA Points into pounds and pence, they'd just be displayed in pounds and pence.
Any country that's taken this seriously has either banned it (Belgium) or is fining the shit out of them (Holland), the rest just haven't looked into it properly enough to see it for what it is and put sufficient controls on it. If they had, said controls sure as shit wouldn't be satisfied by disgustingly vague odds, a spend limiter that doesn't display what you're spending in an officially recognised currency and those things wouldn't be wrapped in a PEGI 3 rating.
EA are exactly the same Mahow and are being rogered by legal instruments in Holland as we speak. They simply can't admit it's gambling. It's the thing that annoys me most about Jim Sterling actually. He's been on a very laudable lootbox crusade for years now, but (presumably) because he doesn't understand or like football he hasn't a fucking clue how egregious EA are when it comes to FIFA. It pisses all over that Darth Vader Star Wars controversy and they do it every year.
That video is worth a watch, it's fascinating. The Mumsnet dressed legal rep even compares them to Kinder eggs. With a straight face.
And as far as I understand it, you get much more for your money on 2K games as well.
So far this year Nepenthez still hasn't packed an icon, on either his FIFA Point laden account, his free to play account (that he/his staff are on for 12 hours a day) or any of the hundreds of viewer accounts he's opened rewards for. There must be tens of thousands (if not pushing/exceeding a hundred thousand pounds) worth of packs there and not even a Pippo Inzaghi. It's absolute madness.
POTM for the Prem is out - 89 rated LM Son. Needs an 85, 86, 87 and 88 rated squad. Extortionate to me, but I'd check your investments, could be time to sell?
That Son card is giving me serious flashbacks.
Looks like a cracking card but I won't be doing it. 5* weak foot makes him a lethal striker though. I had his TOTSSF last year and he was immense.
Oblak up to 58k.
That's 800k profit if I sell, but I'll hold while this clears a shit load of him off the market.
And that is an astonishing rip off.
His base card is 100k and this is basically +2 on that in the stats where it matters.
I didnt realize his base card was down to 100k. Might have to look at picking him up.
Thinking about it I dont think 500k is that bad. His normal card is two IF's away from matching this. So you are looking at what, 2 months time before its even matched. Even then it will probably cost the same if not more.
I still dont think I will do it but I think they have prices it very well.
Not Mbappe, should he win, will be a shit show.
