Astrobot's whateverthefuck looks nice. The Playstation nostalgia might do me in after an hour but it looks like it really shows the controller off well. Also, one of these won't fit in my office (I guess I can call it that now) space. Arf.
I've had to re-evaluate where I'm going to put mine. No laying down for my one.
The delay of Cyberpunk into December does me a bit of a favour. I'll likely not get it now until into 2021, so I'll be working through something of a backlog. I still have Horizon and Spider-Man physical copies and I have some of the PS+ Collection to get to grips with. Mainly, God of War and The Last of Us(part 2 later on). I'm told Bloodborne is also a must-play, but I confess I know little of it.
That should take me nicely through until the big new releases start to come, early 2021. There's also Novembers PS+ games to be announced tomorrow. I've no idea what games are coming, but another big game I've not played wouldn't go amiss.
The place I can upright it is occupied by my PC tower. I might have enough space to lie it flat if my 360 goes. Or I could move the PC tower ... somewhere.
Bugsnax becomes a "free" game on release day. One for the kids definitely, but looks cool.
Is Shadow of War the second one? I played the first but can't remember which one's which.
Also want to try Hollow Knight so this is a good month.
Second.
Shadow of Mordor was the first.
Shadow of War is the 'oops, microtransactions might've ruined the endgame' sequel. Hollow Knight finally comes my way, then. If I wait long enough, Superhot will do the same.
A lot of people seem happy about Hollow Knight so I'd suggest they've done well there.
They've also now got a complete list of everything you'll get for "free" if you get a PS5 this month and PS+ membership.
That's a good list. The Last Guardian's another one I've almost picked up a couple of times.
You also get Astros Playroom free too, which looks like a good wind-down game or another thing for the kids. It's pretty good to be fair. Definitely makes up for a lack of many launch titles. It also probably shows we're being ushered into a digital era, but I'll keep my disc drive until they pry it from my cold dead console.
I've been off this week and being devoid of a console has been annoying, so I'm quite looking forward to this now.
I'd still rather slap a disc in and deal with a lengthy patch than download the whole bloody thing.
Given most games come with a hefty day 1 update now, it's not far off.
SSDs
Demon's Souls without the loading screens just isn't the same, man.
2010: I wish I didn't have to stare at the same game tips while the game loads all the time.
2020: I miss those loading screens with the game tips.
There's an NPC in Demon's Souls that I've only ever seen on a loading screen.
EDIT: My erm ... PS5 library's picking up. Witcher 3, WRC9 and Dirt 5 all have free upgrades and NBA 2K21 will offer an upgrade. A polished turd is still a turd, gentlemen.

And now we've got our first PS5 code in. Warhammer Chaosbane. I already played it on the PS4 and liked it as a Diablo clone. They've been pretty silent over whether there's an upgrade path from PS4 to 5. I suspect there isn't one.
Releases over here tomorrow and yet my order hasnt shipped yet. FFS.
Some of the retailers are going to have some online tomorrow so I will be trying to get my hands on one that way.
Oh it’s another week over here. I’ll be back.
I'm a twit
Argos seem to have sent most of their stock to DPD in advance ready for delivery.
Mine hasn't budged yet since my pre-order in September, though it still says delivery on or before the 19th.
I'm going to have to wait for stocks to get replenished. Luckily I've only got the PS5 updates on the slate in terms of reviews. That'll get done when it gets done.
What is the actual price of this? $500? Not that I am interested.
399 (digital only) or 499 (with disc drive)
I have my first PS5 game (Miles Morales), agony not being able to play for another week.
1 week to go over here now. The demand > supply over here at the least is mad, even for a normal console launch. x 100 for the pandemic making it even harder. I'm still waiting for mine to go wrong or go missing somehow.
I'm going the whole 9 yards on this. Full new setup. I'm looking for a good 4k monitor to boot. I have found one that is pretty much perfect in my price point, but no USB on it is a little annoying.
I'm also ready for a wireless headset. If I'd had my act together I'd have been on the hunt for the 3D Pulse one. It's reviewing very well and looks hard to beat for the £90 price. It's almost as popular as the consoles themselves though so another alternative might have to be found.
My disc version will be here Saturday. Trying to see if I can get my hands on a digital one that I can pick up before that or get the same day as its always been my preference.
@Gray Fox I have heard good things about that headset and wireless is the way to go. I currently have the Logitech G933 Artemis and they have been very good for years so I am likely going to just upgrade to the Logitech G Pro Wireless but thats because I am a logitech sucker.
It seems almost unbeatable on price for performance. A shame they just aren't available anywhere at all.
It does seem any decent headset will benefit from the PS5s new 3D audio tech and not just their own version, but I have a £100 budget and getting better than that seems to lead towards the £130-150 range.
They keep popping up in stock here and I keep being tempted but I think I am going to stick with what I know.
I've created space for it so I'm just hoping the emails from Amazon / Game and erm ... Argos come in to let me know they've restocked. Given how shit the pricing is on Demons Souls, I might skip that or just download it once the PS4/PS5 touch-ups are all dealt with.
I'm half expecting Amazon to send me an email saying mine has been delayed.
@Danny Most here are getting very limited stock that goes almost instantly, but 1 by 1 they're all now listing December as the nearest estimate for more stock.
The monitor I was reading up reviews on has just gone completely out of stock so people must be having the same idea as me. Might have to be a black Friday job now.
Yeah from the looks of it we got a finite number of product shipped over here for launch and it's all pretty much disappeared. A shame really, but there's probably hundreds of people that want one per 1 that comes available.
Given my failure to find the 3D Pulse anywhere outside of freedomland, I took @Danny s advice and looked at Logitech. They seem to have gotten bored and finally delved into not just making everything black thing.
The G733 lightspeed looks good(stupid RGB aside) and seems to review well, so I'm looking at that right now. It is again showing me that the Pulse is well priced as this would be about £40 more.
Digital Edition is here.
As anticipated the console is huge compared to the pro. The controller is going to take some getting used to having used a PS4 one for however many years. The 'handles' feel much smaller when holding it.
Added Bugsnax and the Dirt 5 / WRC9 upgrades to my library. If I could remember my US account details, I'd be getting the NBA upgrade ready as well. All I need's a console now.
NBA sorted. That makes my PS5 library as such:
DIRT 5
WRC 9
Bugsax
Astro's Playroom
NBA 2K21
Ride 4 - patch pending
Witcher 3 - patch pending

I managed to get the 3D Pulse headset and Charging Station when they briefly popped up on Amazon. Both have now arrived so I get to look at them until Thursday.
I have a question. From what I've seen from the coverage, the console looks at your library and recommends stuff on your first boot. I know the console likes to poorly list the PS4 and PS5 versions of the same game in the library so is there a way I can just have the PS5 version listed there?
EDIT: The data transfer from PS4/PS5 looks really quick.

I'm not sure. I suspect it will just show you the PS5 version where possible.
I will try and check when I finish playing tonight.
I think it'll be fine. Looking at some of the earlier coverage, the icons didn't display what version was in the library. Now they have PS5/PS4 on them, by the looks of it.
Think there's a problem with that.

Looks like you can filter by game "platform" in your library.
That'll do me.
Are you chancing your arm getting one on release day @Shindig?
I'm watching to see if anywhere comes in stock. The sooner I can get one, the sooner I can work on the reviews I've been pencilled in for.
