It's a bit unreasonable of you to expect them to have thought about this beyond the "world class" soundbite, Yev.

It's why I also questioned the army handing out tests in Birmingham. If there's no wider plan then there's little point.
They have outbreak information at their disposal as well. The weekly flu / respiratory reports from PHE (or whatever they're called now) detail origins of outbreaks. It's like they've gone beyond track and trace and now would prefer to see one number go so high as to diminish all others by comparison.
There are always going to be people who argue that those who have children should look after them and those that argue society has a duty of care for children who aren't provided for, regardless of the reason. I think it would be wise to consider, regardless of political stripe, that leaving kids to fend for themselves if their parents are feckless is likely to have negative consequences for society in general further down the line. It is probably easy to quantify the costs to other services as a knock on effect which might be easier for the government to swallow.
In the grand scheme of things though when we have been spunking vast fortunes on absolute bollocks recently it should have been an easy win for them, but I agree with Jimmy they're all too insulated with their own bullshit.
Florida deaths since OPENING THE CLUBS are down.
Unusual for Florida.
Don't fucking just post that without a good read to back it up and lead me to desperately scowering the web for evidence ffs.
Interesting thread.
Yeah... that doesn't look good at all. Potentially 6 weeks from ~600 deaths per day. Sheeeeeit.

In case anyone else doesn't fancy having to consume their info through eye-bleeding twitter threads, the tl;dr of it is set out below:
Intersectional feminist says we need a lockdown and better track and trace to prevent deaths.
Interspersed with some incorrect assumptions but I covered that with intersectional feminist hopefully.
She makes good points on the lack of a strategy beyond periodic 'hide & seek'.
But she's clueless if she thinks a two week lockdown ("circuit breaker" can fuck off) will buy the time to sort all that shit out.
At this stage our entire long term strategy is based around how quickly lab boffins can complete their outstanding efforts.
Someone made the fair point on twitter than surely Level 0 is back to pre-Covid normality?
I can't remember whether I've already posted this and I'm on my phone so cba to check, but the occupational health lady who gave me my flu jab the other day said that they are being geared up behind the scenes to start a vaccination campaign from January.
How much you can read into that regarding how confident they are a vaccine will actually be available by then I don't really know.
Do we know the model of the plane that will carry the vaccine?
He predicted the Swine Flu pandemic and penicillin.
It's coming home.

"We may actually have to ration surgery and it may be that you end up with a broken arm or a broken leg that we do not have the time or space to operate on, and it will heal with a deformity and potential disability."
Cool, sounds good.
How will you tell any difference?
That makes no sense, can't I just go 'I don't give a shit about COVID' sign a waiver and have them put my leg back together?
You're not protecting the NHS then are you.
This is hilarious.
I'm sorry but if you've got corona and you're in hospital you're a fucking melt. You should only be in hospital if you're at the ventilation stage. Same with the flu. Nation of cowards.
Magic, listen we all want the clubs open but I don't even know what you're spouting recently. You can't be letting the seethe overpower you.
Extra hour in the clubs tomorrow night (with the clocks going back at 2am) if we manage to have an early win
Ah yes, the famously non-essential and frivolous item that is the winter blanket.
That is fucked up.
There are a few people justifying it on the grounds that it prevents the closed 'non-essential' shops losing business, because obviously they live in 1996.
Should those people with the polythene really be that close together?
Is there some sort of 'official' take on why this is being done?
Small, local business amazon.com surely will feel the benefit of that decision.
That's literally batshit crazy.
They're only losing business because you've forced them to close, you ridiculous people. Now no one can have pillows.
Not content with our three tier system, I see the Scots have gone for 5 tiers.
I have a feeling we need 7 tiers to crack this, so I am disappoint.
