Potatoes roasted in duck fat
Proper fat or lard then rough up the outsides with a fork to make them extra crispy. Sounds like the bicarb does a similar thing.
It is good, especially when you cook the pasta in Marmite-infused water.
But they'll jump on a man eating a part of the sheep that isn't to be found in their nearest franchise restaurant. Fucking white people, man.
We're just saying it's not worth the CJD risk, fam.
Listen, brav, fucking cheddar cheese has a higher death count let alone that thing DS posted. We're all out here taking the knee so that you people learn to concede defeat when you're wrong, come on man.
Just out of curiosity, how come you switched from preaching plant-based to eat sheep brain?
Because they're both contrarian positions and that's the most important thing in anything Taz does.
And using a massively convoluted way to tell us.
Calm down lads, fucking hell, you can all have a nice turn on my piece.
On the topic of promoting reduction of meat consumption, the sheep brain was a novelty meal. I'm not a veggie but all of you should still reduce your meat intake (mine excluded).
It's a good job that wasn't contrarian and convoluted or you'd be looking pretty silly right now.
Keep calm and post about your beans on toast.
On the subject of plant based diets, and in a rather lol turn up for the books, my wife who is a vegetarian of some 20+ years standing is giving serious consideration to trying to eat fish as the drive towards veganism has basically ruined all non-meat meal options when eating out. Don't think it's going to work out though so it's pumpkin dumplings and winter vegetable stew or vegan mozzarella, lentil and spinach moneybags on ratatouille all the way for her.
Why only fish?
It's always fish with these weirdo's.
Yeah, tell the bitch to get some carcinogenic meat down her and be normal.
I just like the idea of there being moral grounds 'vegetarians' who eat fish because they have something against them or don't consider them proper animals. Fuck Fish Veggies if you will, sort of like how actual fishing isn't stigmatised anywhere near as much as shooting or veal or whatever.
The less of a consciousness something has, the less guilty I feel about eating it. I don't eat pig but anchovies are fair game. You may not poke any holes in my clearly flawless logic.
All people eat animals they don't give a shit about. Call yourself what you want, but ultimately that's what it is. Fish are undeniably crap animals so pesc is probably the best diet about.
I’d eat cat if it was nice, and I love cats.
I'm a twit
Just stick to the Bony-eared Assfish.
https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Fish_intelligence
According to Culum Brown from Macquarie University, "Fish are more intelligent than they appear. In many areas, such as memory, their cognitive powers match or exceed those of ‘higher’ vertebrates including non-human primates."[2]
Fish hold records for the relative brain weights of vertebrates. Most vertebrate species have similar brain-to-body mass ratios. The deep sea bathypelagic bony-eared assfish,[3] has the smallest ratio of all known vertebrates.[4] At the other extreme, the electrogenic elephantnose fish, an African freshwater fish, has one of the largest brain-to-body weight ratios of all known vertebrates (slightly higher than humans) and the highest brain-to-body oxygen consumption ratio of all known vertebrates (three times that for humans).[5
You wouldn't kill something you love for a meal.
It really hasn't. Most places have just replaced the veggie option with a vegan one, badly, and the holocaust of cheese-based things is a real tragedy for the non-meat folk.
She's not an ethical choice veggie, she went fish because the place she's going to with the above vegan options had a much nicer sounding thing with sea bream (hence the trying it).
That's probably a bit unfair. There are more choices now, just most of them are a bit crap.
I liken it to the feminists who have become exasperated with the transsexuals ostensibly hijacking their decades long quest for mainstream acceptance/equal treatment. Non-ethical/non-preachy vegetarianism stood on the cusp of broad acceptance, and then along came the vegans to fuck it up for them/render their plight meaningless.
Jersey's restaurants are really good actually.
Not that I'm from there.
It's not purely a locally observed phenomenon. I understand the effort being made, but the explosion in plant-based/vegan eating hasn't actually had the overwhelmingly positive impact you would think it might for plain old veggies. Personally I don't give a fuck, but I can sympathise.
Jersey and Guernsey may be lacking in many departments, but restaurants certainly isn't one of them.
I could be a vegetarian if I had to be. Veganism just seems like an unnecessary ballache when I already recycle for no real benefit.
Vegetarian is definitely doable if you took the notion and weren’t a twat to everyone about it. Vegan is just a dead loss and should be banned.
You could live on egg and chips, and you've still got all the sweet stuff (I can afford to ditch jelly).
I once went on a banking jolly (to see local lad done good Andy Priaulx racing) where I met a guy who had decided to be a veggie in his 60s and he literally only ate chips and deep fried mushrooms. It was beyond baffling.
Can confirm the potato slurry bicarb thing makes awesome chips as well.

They look serious
How long did you boil them for?
I'm trying this today too. On the boil as we speak.
Got the water boiling with the bicarb in it and stuck the chips in for more than 5 but less than 10 minutes, I think. They were decent sized potatoes cut into eighths. I've tried it with various sizes but the chips need to be substantial to get the benefit.
Image doesn't work for me
Me neither, but I presumed just because I'm on my phone.
The link doesn't take you anywhere either.
Nikos one? Or has someone else posted one?
Could have done with another 10 minutes, but whinging kids necessitated an early dish up.
Can't say we noticed too much of a difference to normal ones hat have been shaken up in the pan before going in the oven.
Woof, they're brilliant.
It was a google photo link. I always find them a bit temperamental. Those roasties look good. Maybe you just always do good ones?

I do make a good roast, was just expecting more of a crunch. They're was a bit of a difference, but I'm not sure I'd have noticed it if I didn't know.
Those chips look good, but they're giving me scale issues. At first I thought you were eating off a sandwich plate with a microscopic glass of red.
I missed the first part of that discussion and thought Niko was accusing Spikey of passing off a google photo as his own roasties. Thought it was about to descend into madness.
