Not sure sorry. Does anyone know if there is a foolproof way to put a screen protector on? The factory fitted one on my Galaxy Note 10+ is pretty dinged up now but in my experience fitting them my self leaves a naff finish.
I got this one for my iPhone
https://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/aw/d/B07GX33WVR
And it comes with this plastic thing for putting it on and it’s perfect. I was super impressed. I’m sure they’ll do them for other phones.
Definitely get a glass one anyway.
Got a Motorola Power (I think that's what it is called) recently. It is way too big, like all phones are, but I didn't have to charge it in a week.
Got one of those for my mum a while back I think and it's a tasty bit of kit.
I got caught in another rainstorm again today and it's led to the power button not working now. Hoping it dries off but the home button never recovered last time and like a tard I turned it off to dry off without thinking about how I'd restart it so this may be the long goodbye as I can start up the boot menu using just the volume buttons but no further progress is possible. Fuck sake, just needed another few months till that new Pixel was out.
If you connect it to the power it should turn on right?
Negative, it needs the power button to instigate it otherwise it'd just show the charging screen. But now I've currently got it on the boot menu and unable to do anything bar hard reset with the volume button to return back to this menu so can't even turn power off now. Even if I let charge run and it turns off, I'd still need the power button else it's back to this cycle.
What's the mechanics behind me using my SIM in my mum's phone to access whatsapp? Will all my dickpics be stored on my mum's phone when I swap back? Will I see all her nudes? Or is it a fairly straightforward ting?
Edit: tried it, needed account logging out and logging in again so bottled it.

4A launch is today apparently.
Anyone noticed a brightness decrease since the android update a few days ago?
My battery life has gone to shit and the iPhone 12 is getting announced next month.
HMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMM,
Same.
I'm a twit
Mine is still excellent, but I’m still going to get a 12.
Phone died for the third and final time last night so rushed to shops today to pickup whatever small android model some cunt pointed me towards. Say hello to the Samsung A20e for a bargain £150. It's an inch longer than my beloved A3 but my cervix can take it. Haven't busted since 1st August due to my hand wounds healing and I've pencilled in a baby oil sesh tomorrow evening for xvids on this new INFINITY V display. It's gonna be like Beirut in my bedroom.
Bought some micro-USB charging cables for my old phone from Lidl that were top-notch for next to nothing. Unfortunately, the new one is USB-C so went and got the most popular one on amazon (why is shopping on this website still so difficult as in no way of filtering by popularity and skimming the best of the results?).

Turns out they don't 'fast charge' like the 5cm cable provided by Samsung on my phone. 14,511 positive reviews and mentions of fast charging being fine leave me thinking I've missed a key step in the complex process of using the cables. Any ideas?
Edit: It's the adapter that needs to be fast charge compatible too, you stupid cunts.

Erm.
(source)Battery capacity
Apple sometimes comes in for mockery when it refers to its latest device as the "best iPhone yet" - what else would you expect, people point out. Technology gets better each year, and if you didn't offer better specs than the previous model nobody would upgrade.
In one respect, however, it appears the iPhone 12 may be a little behind its predecessor. Screenshots from various databases suggest the new models will have smaller batteries.
If the figures are correct, the iPhone 12 Max has a battery capacity of 2775mAh, 335mAh lower than the iPhone 11. The 12 Pro is also 2775mAh, 271mAh less than the iPhone 11 Pro. And the 12 Pro Max looks to be 3687mAh, 282mAh less than the iPhone 11 Pro Max.
That sounds very odd indeed, not just because of the aforementioned expectation for tech to advance every year but also because 5G and OLED screens throughout the range (both expected this year) will mean greater power drain on the new handsets. More power drain, less battery capacity, bad news for battery life.
Well, not necessarily. As the Macalope points out, "we know nothing about what other changes Apple may have made in hardware or software the might affect power consumption". For example, it's been suggested by TSMC that the 5nm manufacturing process means the iPhone 12's A14 chip could offer up to 30% lower energy consumption than the A13 (although much of these gains may be wiped out if Apple chooses instead to focus on performance).
For sure, if the iPhone 12 has half the battery life of the 11, we'll discover that in testing and give it a brutal review. But Apple is aware that people take battery life seriously and we'd be very surprised if it hasn't got a plan.
All signs point to a shorter battery life between charges. Why would that even be a thing?

Smaller phone size? Better camera taking up more room?
Hopefully it's something to do with the efficiency of the new internals and they have it well tested to perform the same on a smaller cell size. Cutting actual battery life for some other new hardware would be a huge mistake.
Starting to look more and more like this tiny iPhone 12 will be the only non Pro model in the lineup. They can get fucked with that.
I can upgrade next month, what are the best Android options?
Currently have a Huawei P20 Pro which I like but with all the shit around Huawei I want to bin it.
Your P20 Pro will not lose Google services so I wouldn't worry. That was only for future phones.
Your options for top of the line these days only amount to a Samsung or Oneplus. Huawei, LG, HTC, and Google are all out of that level.
I was thinking OnePlus. I had a 5T or a 6T a few years ago which I loved.
That's most likely my next choice too if apple do what I mentioned above.
Pretty amazing.
OnePlus are exclusive to Three it seems (I get a discount on EE) so I guess I'm going for a Samsung next month.
Any recommendations for mid-range phones?
The 4A, but what's important?
Nothing, really. I don't ask for much from my phones. I might go sub £200 range.
Probably pick up a Samsung A41 for that.
I'll take a look. Cheers.
My Samsung A20E is doing a sterling job and will continue to be doing so for the next 5 years. £150. No idea if it's the best money can buy though.
ios 14, or whatever the fuck it's called has ruined my battery.
My phone is due an upgrade every September to coincide with the new iPhone but I see it’s not been released yet. Has Covid delayed it?
Yeah. Some announcement due [the week commencing] October 12th, released [wc] October 19th and then the Pro versions released sometime in November.
EDIT:

Do they not reset your settings when you update? Bluetooth and Wifi on by default and such?
I've no idea, but I've had it plugged in for 10 hours now and it's gone from 15% to still not 100%. A quick Google earlier says it's normal after an update (I've never seen it this bad) and should sort itself out within a week.
I'm not convinced. Getting 8 WhatsApp messages in quick succession drained 2% of the fucker, while plugged in.
What Bluetooth will use is negligible. Most likely it's an app.
go to the battery settings and it'll give you a breakdown of power consumption by app. Mine's been fine, FWIW
Mine has been spot on too, even from the first beta release I've had no issues.
Same here, all good.
Got the Apple Watch SE and loving it! That’s me locked into iPhones even further. Want eat pod pros next! But they’re silly money.
I really want to get a watch but the same as that I'm really in then and I don't want to chance it just yet.
The Apple Watch (I have a Series 3) is the best device I’ve ever owned. I’d sooner give up my iPhone 11 and go back to the oldest supported phone than give up my watch.
I was 5 months post ACL reconstruction when I got mine and I’ve lost 12kg and boosted my predicted V02 max from 39 to 53 in the 2.5 years I’ve had it (with ups and downs in between).
If you’re not interested in fitness tracking I can’t speak for how much you’ll like it, but for notifications and messages etc. it is also excellent.
Also, zero battery problems on iOS 14 for me.
It wouldn't be for fitness for me (apparently Garmin, etc are way better if you're mad for fitness stuff anyway. I dunno) but they're apparently way superior functionally to what I've been used to with Wear OS watches or Samsung Tizen ones. I'd love to try one but like I said above, that would be it for being fulling tied into apple and I'm kind of eyeing the Pixel 5 now. If I go iphone 12 I'm definitely going for one though.
I see eglobal central have the series 5 for under 400 euro which would probably be a better way to go if I were getting one.
What has the 6 over the 5?
