    Y'know, having that exact match in pre-season has thrown me. Deja vu with Werner on target, probably.

    Fucking hell, the lesser spotted Ruben Loftus-Cheek makes an outing.

    A rare treat for enthusiasts.

    You forget they've had the most complete English midfielder since Gerrard locked away all this time. That is some midfield 3 under a capable manager.

    We're here for the Lallana masterclass though

    He’s not fully fit hence why he’s not even on the bench. He’ll be first choice when he is, best winger in the league.

    Loftus-Cheek shifting Havertz out of position to put in a non league level performance

    Definitely more a championship player. I know he's young but he's definitely had enough time around the first team not to be a complete headless chicken at this stage.

    Lamptey is frighteningly good, like a wingback Kante.

    I'm doubling down on Havertz, not a chance.

    Lamptey is great. Trossard showing a lot of promise and hopefully starts a run of games.

    That starting XI night was so far removed from Hughton’s team. No Duffy, Stephens, Propper, Gross, or Murray (or Bruno having retired), all of whom were major players.

    Surprised to see that Ryan is second behind Kepa for most goals conceded from outside the box since the start of 2018-19 (18 to Kepa’s 19, which is silly for a top four keeper).

    I'd say he has got worse while he's been here. I still think there's a good keeper in there, but lack of height is a bit of an issue.

    He doesn't chuck the ball in or flap at crosses or anything, he just isn't a good shot stopper, which is unusual for a top level goalkeeper.

    Shot stopper should be Goalkeeping 101. If you cant be used to save shots, then you are useless.

    Top insight from Richard Keys as usual;

    Everton? Anything other than a top half finish would be a total failure. Having appointed Ancelotti they had to back him, but I’m not convinced by James Rodriguez. If he was top drawer he wouldn’t be signing for Everton, whoever was in charge. I wouldn’t fancy him at Stoke on a wet Tuesday evening in November, but he’ll look great when the Toffees are 2-up at home. For Everton to make an impact, he’s GOT to dominate games. If I was Ancelotti I’d be going after Troy Deeney. That’s what Everton need - Reid and Gray again. Deeney would be fantastic around the club. Like Jagielka, he’s a ‘proper’ bloke.

    Do other countries do this, i.e. indicate that Gareth Bale doesn't fancy it on a wet Thursday night in Leganés?
