Not really, the media will always try to find the negativity in everything. Something like this doesn't fit their headline agenda, so they won't stick it on the front page.

We've now got people with barely a GCSE statistics qualification (don't google Andrew Western before you've had your lunch) urging the government to lockdown and send businesses and lives into turmoil on the basis of a 55 in 100K infection rate whilst Pedro Paella is out having threesomes with Scarlett Johannson and Penelope Cruz whilst on a rate of 2,000 per 100K.

Look at Donny Tastebuds happy to sacrifice us all.

Seriously though, We went to a Farm/Themepark this weekend and it was business as usual. Only the staff wearing masks, fuck all distancing, zero fucks given. Yet if you wade in too deep on Twitter you'd think Ebola had gone nuclear.

What is it? Are they uninformed and still assuming things are as bleak as they looked in April ala Giggles? Or do they just love Lockdown ala Baz?

Some people legitimately love lockdown, either because it allowed them to be lazier, or because it suited them in some other way, or because they just love the idea of people being told what to do and not having any personal freedom (Giggles).

I'd advocate the mass extermination of people with those opinions.

I'm just for it as an opposition to all this mental health horse shite. People are bored, we get it, no need to make a big deal out of it.

Plus, people should do what they're fucking told.

It suits me to work from home as most of the people I work with / for are based in other countries. I would like the option to go into the office if my team are there otherwise I see less of a need. We're about to run a week long interactive workshop all online - it's going to be exhausting and a lot shitter than if we were all there in person.

That's a business decision though which is somewhat different to what I meant which is people who are glad when everyone is forced/strongly advised to do so.

I’ve a four week long glorified risk assessment ahead starting in ten days. Done digitally via Microsoft teams as far as I can tell. Which I will have to lead the discussions for.

9 hours of risk assessment every day for 4 weeks, all from my dining room table.

    It’s going to be torture.

I'll find out tomorrow if there's been any efforts to encourage us back into the office. I can take or leave it. On the one hand, I like being able to do house stuff whilst on the clock but I miss having someone to moan at. It's only worth it if there's real numbers in the office.

And the council shouldn't be worried about the town centre being fucked. It's a student town and they're not staying indoors.

It will only need a few home-working remainer nonces to have their jobs outsourced to quid a day twats before the New Normal NARRATIVE gets hastily thrown into reverse.

Jobs could have been outsourced anyway. That ship has sailed years ago.

Threatening people with outsourcing their jobs when they've already had their jobs outsourced for decades isn't a very good threat.

Nah, Lewis is spot on. Anyone who is pushing to work at home, whilst others have returned to the office, will be the first at risk of losing their job.

Unless you work for a company that is pushing to get rid of office space altogether.

It's entirely company dependent. Work from home isn't a new concept.

In respects to the people I work for, they seemed very hesitant to us taking the gear home with us. Preferring to spend on new laptops and dongles which inevitably got snapped up by the health professionals.

As for working from home putting people in the firing line, I don't see it. At best, the old guard that work from home are seeing this as a nice time to retire.

Inertia? This could be the catalyst to change working especially as progress has had to accelerate to cope with virtual workforces.

There you go. They outsourced the easy to outsource jobs, but there will have always been reasons - many of which will have been ultimately bullshit cultural ones - thrown up not to go any further. Now, if their big central office complexes are empty, what, beyond maintaining a token national presence necessary to qualify for state support next time they fuck everything up, is stopping them sending loads more jobs abroad? Nothing, which is why I think it will eventually be easier to wake up and pull the handbrake than follow the logic that any job that can be done from your kitchen table it can be done from a slum.

    Just had a brain tingler.

Pretty sure things aren't supposed to go that far up your nose. Thought having a large nose would stand me in good stead but it just seemed to act as a challenge to try and fit the entire length of the swab up there.

I was listening to a podcast the other day about how they used to do lobotomies, and the initial part of the procedure to break into the skull cavity was done through the nose. Be glad that ain’t you

They still do that for many brain surgeries. I thought lobotomies were done through the eye though.

Yeah the actual lobotomy was done through the eye, but the pickaxe to break open the skull was inserted through the nose

Yep. Walter Freeman got it to a science where they could just enter through the tear duct. One smack and you're done. Walter Freeman is not a surgeon. He did hundreds of them.
