I see Southampton fans on twitter are salty about that. Fans of a mid-table club obviously astonished that other fans remember them losing by a Premier League record scoreline but don't remember their series of thumping 1-0 wins, creditable draws and narrow losses against similar teams since.
Of all the interesting things you could talk about in regards to this Southampton (or City) side, it felt the BBC coverage were mentioning the Leicester game at least once every five minutes yesterday. Punditry in this country is somehow becoming even worse.
And yeah Spurs should be all over Hasenhuttl.
Prior to the City game Southampton had the worst home record in the league. He shouldn't be near a top job.
It's a strange issue we've had for 3 seasons now. That's why weve struggled recently, last three seasons we've won 5 or less at home. This year we are doing a bit better in mid table as we've won 8 away which is our best ever away return in a premier league season..
Next season we need to address that home form if were going to kick on. Hopefully the result yesterday gives them some confidence at St Mary's.
It's part of the joy of being a counter attacking team. It's no surprise that when you do win at home it's when you're the underdogs.
Just had a look and if we lost half our draws and won the other half, we’d be in third with 3 points on Leicester.
Southampton are doing just about right really. They've got some decent players and are hardly worse off squad/player-wise than the likes of Palace, Burnley and Sheff Utd who are all in their immediate vicinity in the league. Everton and Spurs (segueing into tonight's game) are the teams that stand out in that midfield bunch as the ones who ought to be doing better given their resources.
Bremen have took an early lead in the german relegation playoff.
Calm down, mahow.
I forgot the second leg was on tonight
The Fatherland will not be happy.
The fuck happened between Son and Lloris?
I thought the cowbell and horn in the first leg were bad.
There seems to be an orchestra using the worst instruments being played by children and drunk spastics.
Bremen are going to stay up due to the away goals rule but I really think away goals shouldn't count in Covid empty stadiums.
There's really no home advantage right now.
Edit: Doesn't matter, Bremen scored another
Edit: 2-2 so yeah, away goals won it.

What an attractive man Tom Davies is, but I'm pretty sure he gets by on looks alone as hes seemingly never had a good game
Dissension in the ranks. Swoop in Jurgen and sign him up.
A ding dong (Chilterns?) Derby beckons in the League One playoffs as Oxford and Wycombe prevail.
This stereotype that Son is the nicest little chap because he's a cute Yellow Life is lols (see BBC live text for example).
Didn't the successive red cards anilihate that theory?
Wouldn’t fancy either of them to put up much of a fight in the championship.
League 1 having Portsmouth, Sunderland, Barnsley (?) and Hull/Stoke/Boro would be a bit tasty.
He was doing his fucking disgusting handshake celebrations with Dele long before them.
Mourinho's "that's beautiful" is what I live for
I don't think Wycombe would stand much chance. They wouldn't spend much and they've got where they are with a large slice of fortune. As I've said on here they play shithouse tactics a lot - I'm not sure if that would go for or against them in the Championship, and they really are just a bog standard League One club. That said, Ainsworth is doing a cracking job there.
Oxford have been quite impressive when I've seen them. Unlike Wycombe I don't particularly like their manager, and they love a bit of shithousery themselves, but they can play a bit.
FC Dallas have pulled out of this shit MLS re-start tournament (lol at the very idea of this, but I digress) because 10 players tested positive. Surely this is the first domino of many to fall, and they'll end up cancelling the whole thing.
Can see Wycombe shithousing the final (a repeat of the League Two final actually) and going up, but yeah they’ll sink straight away like Yeovil did. The chasm between the Championship and League One is growing exponentially so you’ve not only got to be good enough to get there, but also be well-run behind the scenes with a bit of clout, ideally. See Lansdowne at Bristol City. Pouring in millions for mid-table.
Naby Keita POV is an interesting video to be sticking on the official club site in view of recent allegations.
Was a cracking pass to Mané though.
Billy Goatmour in the middle
Get Pulisic bum implants and nobody will know Hazard ever left. What a plur
Lee Bowyers Chalton
Holy shit that strike by Zaha.
That's an incredible flap from Kepa.
Kepa conceding yet again without making a save
It was in the middle of the goal too. Lol
I see Dawson’s scored again. Another overhead kick?
Also never heard of that Norwich scorer.
I'm a twit
That's a lovely finish.
EDIT - Abraham, not Benteke. That's just pathetic defending from Chelsea.
Chelsea must be one of the worst teams ever to finish in the top four, assuming they do
Christensen
What on earth was that line all about. Things must be bad when Kurt Zouma is your best Defender. Somehow third. What a dreadful league its been.
Is Zaha ever going to be allowed to leave Palace? All this talk of the likes of Traore commanding a massive fee, surely you'd be better off going for Zaha? Much more established quality. Was running the entire defence ragged there, although perhaps that's not the high praise it might have been in days gone by (when Chelsea could defend).
Chelsea are a good side, they certainly have one of the best squads in the league, in that there isn't much drop off in quality between their first and second XIs (if you had such a thing). It's just unusual for the sod the defence all out attack teams to be them and United.
That is total disrespect. Traore is playing at a higher level and is miles ahead of Zaha.
Palace are going down next season. They've fluked it this season having rolled the dice on not upgrading their bad and old squad, so I can't see them splashing out this summer.
