Zucchini and cilantro can follow it to the bin.
The person who delivered by UnerEats was called Kibab.
What else would you call cilantro?
Yeah i’ve always defaulted to coriander, even in America, where most people have absolutely no idea what i’m talking about. It’s super weird
I can't use American recipes for these reasons and also because they measure everything in 'cups'. What the fuck is a cup?
What Jimmy is drinking out of in your avatar.
Not to be confused with the double P cups in mine.
Wouldn't different things weigh different amounts if you filled a cup with them?
Yes, beyond “one cup” being imprecise and impossible to measure perfectly accurately, different things will compress into a cup differently, affecting the weight of the ingredients in your recipe. Weight is the superior method of measurement here.
I called US cups shit on the old board and was lolled at.
Kitchen explosions.
Made cupcakes today for the first time.
Nearly lost a thumb due to inadvertent operation of an electric whisk, but a tremendous success otherwise.
Distressing knowing what the ingredients are.
Easier to shove 3 or 4 down your face when you’re blissfully unaware that it’s for the most part sugar and butter.
Buns. You’re not American.
Who doesn't know what cake is made from?
Athletes, like me.
They were always just 'cakes' because no cups were ever involved.
Fairy cakes for the ones with no icing on, cupcakes for those with.
Fairy cakes is acceptable. Cupcakes, no.
It can go in the bin along with period for a full stop and calling a series of a TV show a season.
Fairy cakes are the ones with a bit cut out, cut in half to make 'wings', the hole filled with jam and icing/cream and then the wings put back on top.
Like so.
Fairy/butterfly cakes. Although if you eat them with a fucking fork you can get in the bin with Mahow.
You'd still call this a fairy/butterfly cake?
The icing turns it into a cupcake for me.
Those are just cakes.
If someone said to me "I've got cake" and then gave me one of those I would not be happy.
A cake.
Some cakes.
Iced or otherwise makes no difference.
They’re buns with icing (note, not frosting) on them.
To me a bun is more of a bread based thing.
Buns are bread. Burger or iced.
"Frosting" is a shit word.
You don’t ice bread.
That fucking roll with some icing on is so British. It’s a hot dog bun with sprinkles.
Interested what you guys call these.

Only ever seen them in the highlands but that sort of iced bun thing above is similar.
They’re bloody brilliant though.
Looks like an iced bun of sorts, although if we can all get behind the name 'Dorset Knob' the world would be a better place.
If anyone decides to holiday in the highland area during corona take it as a personal recommendation from Foe to ask for a dream ring (in a bakery).
Foe loves a good dream ring.
I didn't even know there was a debate about cupcakes being called cupcakes.
Fairy cakes are a kind of cupcake, aren't they? They have that little flourish on the top that distinguishes them from other cupcakes.
I would say buns, but I'll go with Disco over 'cupcakes'.
