Just done both of them again as they look like cracking cards for good prices.

Started picking up players to use once this cycle is over. There's a risk I might be able to get them cheaper if they put all cards in packs, but as I was back up to 2m coins felt Kane's 93 for 60k and Sterling's Headliner for 70k was worth a dip.
Also picked up Jermain Defoe for basically discard as well.
Diaby finally upgraded, well, apart from his pace, which claims 99 but both stats are still 98.
Mertens up to 91 and Sauls HL up to 89. Picked one of those up.
Rinsed some shitters through the upgrades and got a couple of nice pulls and dupes so I did Fabinho. Want Liverpool to win for once.

Kimpembe would be a bit of a kick in the teeth but I'd likely grab him in case I fancy giving five at the back a go, but the other two would be bloody great. I was torn voting, actually, for what difference it makes. Mendes would undoubtedly upgrade on Andre, but Andrew is a bit of an underused beast in my book. Balde's weak foot would give him the edge over Raphinha too.
Unfortunately I think Kimpembe will win it.
I voted for him because I have too many Central midfielders for Ligue 1 as it is and I have TOTS Di Maria on the right.
We really don't need another Brazilian midfielder (even if he does look like a cool Prince impersonator)

Fernandes
- 5 Rival wins = 90

Those two probably offer the best overlap, thinking about it. Cheeky French/Prem combo.
I've now done Fabinho and Fernandes, meaning I have no idea what my first choice centre-mid pairing is. It's out of Kante / Bruno / Fred / Fabinho / TAA / Pogba and could probably chuck in Sissokho / Firmino / Scholes / Gattuso and Bergkamp as other options. For two spaces, as I mainly use wingers
How are they doing the upgrades on those Showdown cards? Is it as simple as whichever player's team wins gets an upgrade?
That Fabinho looks almost perfect for my CDM spot as he is now so I'll be doing him anyway, but if the upgrade system is that simple I'll be popping it on now and doing him and Foden over breakfast.

I get there is a set of silver objectives and that the card is actually outrageous for his '74' rating but two 83s seems a little excessive.
I love the card, but I'm not doing it as a point of principle as they've clearly released it to stop people using them for SBC fodder when they're bored with it.

That 74 rating has got to be a fuckup. 97 strength is mega. Think I might do it as I've only got Hakimi out on my RM position in my Bundesliga team and I packed a Havertz earlier.

It would certainly make 93 Mendy easier. I’d love him as an alternative to Payet, albeit it would necessitate some position change / tactics shenanigans that I hate doing to keep Osimhen on full chem then. Saying that, Osimhen is good enough on 8 chem anyway... I just hate having to use up tactic slots on swapping around.
This is annoying. Had he come out before I did Militao, I’d likely have taken him and ran Modric on 8 chem, but there’s no benefit to Kimpembe over Sarr or Militao. Little salty he got it, given Sarr was out only a week or so ago.
I’ve not even played since Sat. Definitely not getting 21 until it’s reduced or on EA Access again.

I'm running seriously low on cards right now, need to get back into BPM, but lost the motivation somewhat while this best of draws to an end.
I don't have enough to do all of the current SBC's though without dipping into the coins and that seems like such a waste. I guess I could try gold pack method.

The stat upgrade on Foden isn't really concomitant with a three point overall upgrade from what I remember, but it's good enough that I'm a bit miffed at having missed out now that Pope is out and piss easy to do. With Campbell still hanging around and Richarlison being the bollocks, along with some players I've been keeping around for potential SBC fodder I could have built a nifty Premiership team.

He's absolute mustard (I packed him untradeable during FUT Birthday) and he's still up with the power curve, but I would sell him now and buy him back in a week or so. He'll be much cheaper by then, even more so if he wins that SBC vote.
Yeah that's what I'm thinking. Plus I can use that cash to replace him with the base gold versions of Messi/Ronaldo/VVD/Neymar and KDB and still have some change
