That new Star Trek trailer is fucking awful.
That new Star Trek trailer is fucking awful.
Also, some people have apparently seen The Force Awakens. This dude says that it's good fun but that the plot is a bit shallow and very derivative of the old SW movies.
I imagine it would be quite derivative of previous films in the same series.
I can't remember it that well. What rules does it break?
I remember there was something about Zod making him unable to breathe by fucking about with the air in the spaceship...and yet at one point he's flying through space without any issues. Generally though, it's about a dude from another planet who can save everything. I'm taking the whole thing with a pinch of salt to begin with. I just kinda turn my brain off when I'm watching that kinda thing so I don't even really notice it. That breathing thing I only considered once someone pointed it out to me.
The Lobster has leaked. Life is good.
Ben Wheatley's new thing, based on a JG Ballard book.
That looks a bit good. What a film Kill list is btw.
Locke, which might as well be called (Tom) Hardy is immersive and well done.
First DVDScreener of the Oscar season is out, Room by Lenny Abrahamson:
http://www.imdb.com/title/tt3170832/
Room is astonishing, first time in ages I've cried like a fanny at cinema. Devastating.
Got tickets for Star Wars, going on Saturday. In the meanwhile, I've downloaded a Chrome extension that warns me whenever there's a potential spoiler on a page I visit.
I've hear of those. How the hell do they work?
I've installed one and it's dogshit. Warns me on about 40% of pages I visit, including my email inbox.
Just got a warning for this page
Yep, the TTH front page also gets a warning because of the thread about the movie. I guess it's very cautious in that it warns you about every single page that has the title on it.
I reckon I'd rather have the spoilers.
Just watched The Lobster based on DS' recommendation. I thought it was great, although the first half was definitely better, and it dragged a bit during the middle. Good ending, though.
Straight Outta Compton and Brooklyn dvdscreeners leaked. John/How/SvN you know where.
Straight Outta Compton couldn't interest me any less, but I'll grab Brooklyn.
I'm all over Room. My internet is horrific so it'll take four hours to get here, but I'm all over it.
Hopefully these are the opening trickles before the dam breaks. I think we got eight on one day around this time last year.
Shame they are in DVD5/Iso format, hopefully they'll have mkv files or something similar soon.
Straight Outta Compton was actually surprisingly good to be fair, girlfriend loved Brooklyn though so will be on that.
Cheers for the heads up, DS. Room and Brooklyn have arrived.
I'm a twit
Martian has leaked too, dvdscr, but iTunes should be up Tuesday so just wait.
And now Peanuts Movie dvdscr
Swish.
I always love these few days.
Room is incredibly powerful.
I'll be watching it again at the cinema.
Watched Die Hard. Its officially Christmas.
About to watch Star Wars on my own, I'm psyched. Never gone solo before.
First time in an Imax as well.
Is Imax just a fancier 3D?
You still need the glasses right?
You know IMAX isn't 3D only, right?
I do now.
Hopefully they'll be showing 2D IMAX of Star Wars near the end of the run round here.
A great performance by the kid, but I felt the film was missing something. The first chapter should have been a little shorter (though it dragging did help to set the scene), and the second half should have focused more on his mum. The final scene was quality, though.
Carol.2015.DVDSCR.x264.AAC-P2P
Lol that Carol screener is sourced from Vimeo, some lunatic uploaded it there seven hours ago, its still on there.
The Revenant DVDscreener in surprisingly good quality.
Cheers DS.
I'm all over that.
All the Star Wars shit over the last few days put me in the mood to watch the original for the first time in years. I knew going in the effects were shoddy and there was some laughable model work involved, but what the fuck were they up to with this.
Toggle Spoiler
At least with the effects and models they were trying to portray something they couldn't reasonably create, but just fucking bring in a few more guys in hats.
Spy.
Ah, yes. God that was shit.
