A little football teaser......
Who am I?
I’ve never won the Premier League but 3 of my former clubs have.
I’ve been named in a PFA Team of the Year.
My current Premier League team paid almost £30m for me.
Teammates have included Danny Ings, Raheem Sterling, Fabian Delph, Danny Wellbeck, Theo Walcott, Danny Drinkwater, Kurt Zouma, Harry Kane & Kieran Trippier.
Managers I’ve played under include Steve McClaren & Nigel Pearson.
Someone tell me what this is. It’s driving me mad
Aye, got it. I thought it meant PL TOTY. Thank you x
Huddersfield will contribute a few.
Hünemeier
Schindler
Billing? Has he ever scored? Is he German?
Hünemeier did score in English football, but for Brighton in the Championship. Schindler scored one PL goal, and Durm didn't score at all.
Billing has scored in the Prem, but he's Danish, not German. That question will come soon enough.
I don't think Hünemeier is who I thought he was.
Who plays for Norwich now, Moritz Leitner?
Moritz Volz was it?
Stoke centre back, Wollscheid?
Schneiderlin? EDIT: French. Grrrr.
Correct, but has already been said.
Leitner does play for them, but hasn't scored this season. There IS a German on the list who has scored for Norwich this season however.
Loved Volz at Fulham. Also scored the 15,000th PL goal away at Chelsea around Christmas time.
No goals for Wollscheid in his Stoke spell.
I have a list for France ready to go, but it is full of spawny shitehawks from the 90s and 00s who'd pop over for a loan spell, scramble in a goal, and return to Caen or Sochaux to live out their days.
Steffen Freund scored one in the end did he not?
Stiepermann for Norwich?
Tarnat
Hitzelsberger
Great questions, I'm absolutely crap at them. Jan Kirchhoff managed an own goal for us, but that's all I've got.
No goals for Freund in over 100 PL apps.
Not the right Norwich German. 10 goals in the Championship but nothing in the Prem.
Hitzlsperger has already been answered, but Tarnat is a new one and correct, 3 goals for City.
They're fun to set too - find tons of old names that have slipped from memory.
As a bit of help, the clubs that the remaining 7 Germans scored for:
4 - (Bolton Wanderers)
3 - (Manchester City)
2 - (Derby County)
1 - (Aston Villa)
1 - (Manchester City)
1 - (Arsenal)
1 - (Norwich City)
Boateng?
Late replying to this, but no Boateng didn't manage a PL goal. Some final clues for the remaining 7:
4 - (Bolton Wanderers) - Scorer of a PL hat trick, had a spell on loan at Bolton in 2002 from Dortmund. German international who also played for Stuttgart.
3 - (Manchester City) - Attacking midfielder who spent the 94-95 season on loan at City. Was very famously tackled in an England-Germany game.
2 - (Derby County) - Defender who played for Derby between spells at Hamburg and Wolfsburg. Scored his PL goals against Leicester and Leeds.
1 - (Aston Villa) - Central midfielder who was with Villa for the start of the Premier League. Played sparingly and scored once against Newcastle, before moving to Hansa Rostock and more notably, Bayer Leverkusen.
1 - (Manchester City) - Obscure midfielder who had a very brief loan spell with City in 1994 from Dortmund. Played more frequently for Hertha in the 2. Bundesliga later in his career.
1 - (Arsenal) - Only made 6 league appearances in 2 seasons at Arsenal (1999-2001), but did manage to score against Newcastle (and also against Preston in the League Cup).
1 - (Norwich City) - Striker who scored for Norwich this season, but has since returned to the Bundesliga and his old club, where he has scored 4 in 8.
Gaudino for the guy who got tackled by Borris
Bobic - Bolton.
Michel Vonk?
Stefan Schnoor
Stefan Malz
Even I don't know the Villa player. Half remember one knocking around, but not gonna get his name.
It's Beinlich isn't it? |I remember him in the Leverkusen title winning side but all I remember of him at Villa was him being in the programme notes vs Arsenal sometime around 1993 and being about as exotic as Villa got back then.

Next up.... Portuguese goalscorers in the Premier League. There have been 36 in all, can you name them?
I'll get the tricky one out the way: Ronaldo.
Silva
Moutinho
Neves
I'll be the judge of that.
I hope I'm on the list.
Ricardo Vaz Te.
Nuno Gomes
Helder Postiga
Ricardo Pereira
