To be fair to Giggles, I would like to see any of you explain "the science".
Time for some good news.
Countries with the least number of reported cases. Countries over 50,000,000 population ONLY.
Not sure that's good news, there are some obviously massively under inflated numbers there. Brits alone will have caused more than 411 cases in Thailand.
India and their notoriously high hygiene standards.
I'm on board with the good news brigade but those third world numbers are clearly bollocks.
My guess is that we are all so infected with all kinds of viruses that they just outmuscle the coronavirus.
Imagine being on one of those Indian trains.
It probably hasn't got to most of them in a big way yet as there isn't as much travelling in and out, but when Kinshasa and Dhaka get it, fucking hell.
Hong Kong has had to reimpose restrictions because cases started growing again. This is going to be life for ages now. A few weeks of semi-normality, shut down. On repeat. For fucking ages.
Can we get some graphs on the builders merchant purchasing and calculate the true UK death figure?
Complete bullshit though.
How would that compare to seasonal flu?
I'm a twit

All of us that doubted the experts were right, they weren't listening to each other. The twats.
If China is anything like Vietnam, 99% of people use Prepay, not contract. Also, why would these telecom companies cancel 7m contracts after just 2 months of the bill not being paid (also assumes those 7m people don't have DD set up for the fee, which is easy with Alipay). Not buying it.
Me & HoaxEye
Yeah, that telecomms thing is a really bad use of numbers.
I'm not a telecommunications expert, I'm Yevrah, but there must be a myriad of reasons why those numbers would fluctuate by what's a very small number in a population of over a billion.
It's also presented horribly, so it can do one.
It is always worth remembering that China's population is FUCKING MASSIVE.
UK - 0,066,400,000
China - 1,386,000,000
Stumbled across this guy the other day. No idea of his actual medical qualifications, but he speaks sense and has a soothing tone with it. Which may come to be needed as we go through.
Plenty of contractors are ploughing on, they'll be in and out of people's homes and visiting multiple suppliers every day. Some of ours are rubbing their hands at the prospect of school closures because they think they're going to get a load of maintenance work out if it (which would normally be happening at half term or summer hols).
It's rife in Madrid, with over 60% of the deaths from there. Is that the same as Northern Italy?
Ultimately, it's coming for people everywhere.
And on the Madrid thing, how have people in Liverpool been taking to social distancing?
Should we do a live QT Corona special tonight? Yev can you be on the show please.
Will I get some figures from our core network to see the usage drop in businesses? I can then calculate the DDoS attack rate on those public IPs and project potential infected cases across multiple verticals.
I see Boris has sacked off today’s press conference and is having the Environment Secretary stand in. We’ve still got Whitty and Vallance.
It’s hard to look away. I like to know what’s going on but I know I’ll hate the answer anyway.
I’m going to have to make an effort to read more, or get into FM. Anything as a bit of a distraction.
Everything is through the prism of will I get through it (likely), will my parents get through it (also likely but a little bit less so). The vast majority of people, even older and iller people, aren’t going to get this badly. But then you glue yourself to the news and hear the latest numbers and can’t help but switch into ‘WE’RE ALL GOING TO DIE’ mode.
How long before the rioting starts?
I mean we're obviously not, but I can't see how this won't be worse than Spanish Flu, which killed, what, up to 50 million people. Maybe as a % of the global population it'll be less, but as soon as it takes hold in Africa and India it's going to decimate areas to the point where they won't be able to keep up with the number of deaths, let alone who has it.
The Chinese are definitely lying about their numbers though aren't they.
In addition to being a great example of how we're never gonna be able to adjust our ways in time for climate change, this is also a great case study for the common fictional trope of "if humanity only had an outside threat to focus on we would all band together", a la Watchmen or any alien invasion film.
It's very clear we wouldn't, we'd just end up calling them the "Australiens" because they first touched down in Canberra, and say "well they're only grabbing red-headed women with glasses for their probes, so might as well have a pint with the mates".
Isn't panic buying a form of rioting?
