My mam was totally fine with me staying put. I've probably said more to them this week than I would in a fortnightly pop round.
Social distancing
My mom works in a mall in FL, which is still not closed. Fucking idiots.
I had a tedious conversation with my Mum a couple of days ago about why the whole family shouldn't go out for lunch as planned on Mother's Day. Her entire argument in favour of it was just "but it's Mother's Day!".
There would have been about fifteen of us, including one of my brothers coming up from London. I mean, he would never have come given the situation, but she thought he should. Everyone else in the family agreed it was a terrible idea except my Mum, who is sixty, and my Auntie and Uncle, who are both seventy. The three oldest people involved. They were bang up for this "stiff upper lip, carry on regardless" nonsense.
You can't fucking help them mate. They're idiots.
Are we going into lockdown come Friday night??
My family all live quite close together and were meant to be doing a big mother's day meal. Her and my sister both have respiratory things and her and the kids are onlly just going to be home from work / school around the weekend so we've knocked the meal on the head and luckily my parents are fine with it.
I'll probably be safe to go round and see my parents Saturday as me and them will both have been pretty much isolated for a week by then, so that helps a bit.
I can't see how we won't, in London at least. I haven't left the house in over 48 hours now, so other than traffic I don't actually know for definite how busy it is around these parts. Anecdotally it seems bangin'
Although he surely won't announce that when everyone's already in the pub, at the 5PM Friday briefing, will he?
How's your business coping Bam?
Business is good, best start to the year in a long time. I'd take the lockdown now as I'll have plenty to go back to after and it wont be going anywhere.
Traffic around Essex and Greater London is dead, which is really strange.
I don't know about non-believer but probably doesn't think it will reach her. She's retired now and doesn't get out that much. Although my dad's still working and does deal with the public in his job so it could easily make its way back home.
I haven't been out much since last Friday but I still don't really want to add to their risk.
I've been out near me yesterday - the park was pretty busy with people walking about. Cafe in the park also had people in the tables outside. Local newsagent has been busy. Gym today was pretty much empty which is a change from last week.
Im surprised that gym's have not been closed yet, really odd.
How does it work with things like this, as long as you're not licking somebody's face is outdoors basically safe?
I know you can't say to the public "Oh no outdoors is fine" because they'll be idiots and just socialise outside and infect each other but let's say you were just going for a walk yourself or whatever, are you theoretically pretty risk-free?
Social distancing is fine so you should be able to mooch about as long as you're not standing right next to them.
Found the most dangerous fucks being the joggers with their mouth open running past you. Fucking fuck off.
Boris is winding me up. He just flaps shit out of his mouth, like a watered down Trump.
I still haven’t figured out how to do deliveries in work properly. Or at least, both parties are never on the same page.
Fair play. That's how to do it.
He used to be able to think on his feet and had a wit. He can't do that anymore.
Much like Theresa May, but much more so in fact, he probably genuinely cannot believe what he's found himself in the middle of and is horribly ill equipped to deal with it.
Most wouldn't be, but it's breaking him already, you can see it.
We (NYC) are pretty close to a 'shelter in place' order like they have in the Bay Area and every business I know of has mandated WFH where people can. It's been nice weather the last couple of days and when I'm walking the dog in the park, you wouldn't know there was anything going on, its so busy there. However, the streets are dead - never seen Manhattan like it. Brooklyn is always a little quieter but the streets are still noticeably quieter than usual.
With all the mongs about in the UK and the US; if the weather gets good is when I would worry - everyone will be out and about non-social distancing all over each other.
He would have sided with it by now.
Wit isn't just about gags, it's about having a sufficiently quick brain function that you can (in this case) quash uncertainty or respond to points with confidence when people put them to you. He had it, in his 40s, but he doesn't now.
JC would have been an even bigger fucking disaster (due to surrounding himself with thicko commies), but I suspect, when elected, Keir Starmer may inject some adult thinking onto the scene and line himself up rather well as a future Labour PM.
I absolutely am. He's even winning over Dan Hodges and Julia Hartley-Brewer.
Didn't Corbz say if the government recommended the over 70s isolate for their own good he wouldn't obey such an order?
He's basically the dullard version of Boris' dickhead dad.
Man for a crisis.
366 cases here now (74 today). Cinemas now closed the same as pubs. Banks giving 3 months relief to mortgages. Revenue to pay employers €200 per employee that’s they’re still paying that aren’t working. Travel to Germany knocked on the head. And finally the Nordies are closing schools.
He couldn't manage an election campaign, twice. Absolutely no chance he manages us through a global pandemic.
So this corona bill seems ill thought out...
Was that buffoon really on today blowing on about Brexit? Has to be the thickest bastard going.

It must be a nightmare working the wards. I assume they have to keep the Covid nurses and doctors separate to avoid it contaminating the hospital further.
My nan normally buys sterilised milk twelve bottles at a time because it works out cheaper. She went to collect her order today, and they said they couldn't fulfil it because it now counts as stockpiling, so she was seething. What happened to pandering to the elderly? Disgusting.
What is sterilised milk? UHT stuff?
All the supermarkets are opening just for them (and the 'vulnerable') for the first hour of every day. Is that not sufficient pandering?
I'd love to know how that door policy works.

She doesn't care about any of that. She just doesn't like spending money so stockpiles during normal times.
