Vice is good. Sound performances throughout but it doesn't half make you feel shit. Cheney is the dictionary definition of a clever cunt.

Just watched 'Hunt for the Wilderpeople' (2016, New Zealand). Bloody great. Sam Neill is a don.
I still haven’t forgiven a mate of mine for recommending me that. I’ll never get the hour back.
Yeah it's a brilliant little film.
@Jimmy Floyd
Carnies.
I watched John Wick 3 last night. I was a bit surprised that it seemed to be more highly rated than the previous two. I think it's gone in too deep on the nonsense background to it all but the action is still tremendous so I enjoyed it all the same.
I watched and enjoyed Rushmore last night. The Coen brothers version of cutesy kooky movies often leave me v cold but wes Anderson's films have a certain...err, well, warmth. Even willing to overlook the fairly preposterous premise.
The Two Popes is phenomenal. Jonathan Pryce with an award winning effort.
I think I've watched more films in the past week than I have in the last year or two.
I'm more pleased by the fact that Gladiator is still outstanding having not watched it in forever. They did a bloody good job with Oliver Reed's final scenes given it was 20 years ago.
Thoroughly enjoyed The Gentlemen. It's completely OTT from start to finish and Hugh Grant is brilliant. Colin Farrell steals it too, which is always fun.
Sama.
Does the famous table make an appearance?
I assume it is a film predominantly about cardboard-based furniture.
Seen it.
I'm a twit
That just sounds like a weird manchild.
The Sama film is the harrowing tale of a man using cardboard boxes as tables.
Do we still have that picture anyway?
Knives Out is really good.
1917 is a fantastic bit of cinema. Hugely impressive & one of the rare films that lived up to the hype.
Of the other films I’ve seen lately, The Gentleman was also very good, and JoJo Rabbit was endearing even if it’s a bit weird & the accents are terrible.
And yeah, Knives Out is also a good watch.
I feel like even Daniel Craig doesn’t know what accent he’s doing.
I'm a twit
JoJo is worse - half the cast can’t hide their actual accents, so you get Rebel Wilson as the Aussie Nazi & Taika doing Hitler with a South African twang, then you get other people not doing any accent at all.
I watched Fighting With My Family over the weekend seeing as it's now on Netflix. They tell the story in a slightly weird way when you know what actually happened but it was still good fun and not as 100% positive as I expected.
I watched Game Night last night with Jason Bateman and was pleasantly surprised. Really good film, and very funny.
1917 is properly excellent, even if the main lad looks enough like Michael Crawford for it to be a bit distracting.
I, Tonya's pretty good. Everyone's such a fun cunt. I bet that was a blast to make.
Looking through the cast for 1917 I noticed Billy Postlethwaite, sure enough turns out to be Pete's son. How in the name of Christ has that been 9 years since he died?!
1917 is indeed very good. I like this trend towards films being presented in a single shot (I know it was all quite cleverly stitched together). It makes for a more immersive experience.
Watched Bad boys for life on saturday and was really quite surprised at how good it was. Now if you don't like the previous Bad Boys films, get the fuck out of here they are masterpieces.
But this one I was pretty sure they would fuck it up, given it's been about 20 years or whatever, but they did a great job fan servicing the shit out of the film.

"Jaden Smith stars as Martin Lawrence ..."
I can't remember having a strong opinion either way on the original but Bad Boys 2 was an absolute turd.
I don’t remember anything from either film except the “and some Skittles” line.

I watched Dark Waters and it's an absolute disgrace. What a story and how Dupont executives aren't in prison for their actions is astonishing.
I was really disappointed in Knives Out, but I think my expectations were just way too high. I was honestly pretty bored for the first 2/3rds.
See, that's what disappointed me, I didn't find it nearly as twisty and clever as I had hoped. The family was also more muted than I was expecting even if there were some fun characters.
I watched Road at the weekend. It's a documentary about the Dunlop dynasty narrated by Liam Neeson. Predictably, it's put me off riding a bike a bit. William (senior)'s accident was caught on camera so you see his bike just halt and then his body wind up under the wheels of another rider. There's a horrible fatalism to some of it, especially when it comes to William and his two sons. Michael's the only one left now. Bleak.
1917 was really good, but it was still disappointing for reasons I can't quite put my finger on.
Did the brown man ruin it for you like he did for Laurence Fox?
I think Saving Private Ryan ruined it for me.
The random black man was more annoying than the random Indian.
I watched Public Enemies today. Investing in Depp as Dillinger took time, but come the final stretch I had fully bought in. He really should do more serious work.
On a related note Stephen Graham is apparently in everything.
Almodovar's latest is outstanding.
1917 is fucking brilliant.
Picked up Rush for £1.50 the other day. It's alright but I don't rate it as highly as some others. There's little things they've missed I'd thought would be definite scenes. Things like Lauda's helmet being full of blood after Monza, Lauda goosestepping into Hunt's hotel room ahead of the Japanese Grand Prix. Those shots of Hunt's ex-wife smiling and watching the race don't make a lot of sense, either. She'd married Burton at that point.
