Is there any structure to the competitions in UFC or is it done like wrestling where they just call each other out and the business sets up fights?

It isn't as structured as they like to pretend, but there is a ranking for each weight which is loosely used to set up fights. Generally if someone needs a fight the UFC's first call will be to either someone they've previously fought to a controversial finish or with whom the rivalry continued beyond the fight, failing that it'll be someone they've been arguing with on social media or whatever, in both cases assuming the fighters are close enough in the rankings that the fight doesn't look like a mismatch. If they can't get either of those then they'll go to the rankings and see which fight makes most sense there.
Cowboy v Justin Gaethje confirmed for September.
Hakeem Dawodu fighting with what looks like a staph infection on his back. Dirty bastard.
Mike Perry's nose there, goodness me. It was like Andrei Arlovski pressing his face against a window.
There's broken noses and then there's that.
Yoel Romero v Paulo Costa just then was a deeply silly fight.
The salute as if to say yes I'll come and hit you, only to then get smacked right back on the chin was quality.
Vietnam has it's first ever professional MMA event this Friday in HCMC. I just attended the open workouts press thing - it was decent - looking forward to it.
So, it happened last night. Cracking event - decent fights and nice set up. Only downside was no refreshments and it took me 20 to exit the car/bike park. Highlight being Duy Nhất knocking out Che Will.

By 'no refreshments' do you mean that they didn't have a single kiosk selling food and drink? If so that's absolutely mental from an outfit as big and professional as One FC.
How did the Australians go?
The one Australian on the card won.
There's a UFC being held in Melbourne next month, there will be a load of Aussies on that. At the very least I know Tai Tuivasa and Jake Matthews are on there.
I'm guessing what was essentially a standing moonsault isn't exactly typical.
How to gas yourself out after one round was what I got from yesterday.
Whittaker v Adesanya will be one of the best fights of the year, assuming there isn't an early finish. It's been eight years since either of them has been involved in a fight that ended via submission and they're both elite, lethal strikers.
Kiwi bogans are the worst type of bogan.
Kevin Lee nearly kicked a mans head off tonight.

Jose Aldo looks fucking terrible.
I’m a bit out the loop. Is McGregor expected to win this weekend?
I'm a twit
If he doesn't he's finished. He'll never settle for being a midcarder again, and if Cerrone splats him that's exactly what he'd be.
I reckon he'll finish it in the first, but if he doesn't he's in trouble because he never had the best cardio even at 155 and he's carrying a shitload more muscle.
The value bet is Cerrone to finish it via headkick in the third. It's a long shot, but anything where Cerrone finishes it will be and he's always got a brutal high kick ready to go. He's also great at baiting people onto it.
I don't watch UFC but it would be quite nice to see somebody cave his face in for him.
Cerrone will probably stand up and try fight with McGregor. It won’t end well. Over inside the first round is the most likely scenario
McGregor looks about 40 these days due to all them drugs. Hopefully tomorrow is a war but can’t see it lasting more than 2 rounds, regardless of who wins.
That was quick. Well done all involved.
Bruce Buffer's annoying fucking intro lasted longer than the fight.
Shoulder barged him to death
What a load of rubbish.
I'm a twit
Reyes is legit. Probably deserved the draw at least.
Reyes won that, but it's not the robbery it's been portrayed as.
That Felder v Hooker fight was great.
That main event was disgraceful.
The fight beforehand thankfully made up for it. Absolutely awful regardless, the start of the 1st round from Romero paved the way
Jon Jones at it again
They'll probably strip him of his title and then let him have a shot at it within a year.
He is a deadset sociopath.
The best people at their profession are always weirdos
BT3 are showing UFC 202 right now, the main event of which is the McGregor v Diaz rematch.
Forgot how beautiful the combination Cerrone used to finish off Rick Storey was. It was so good it almost seemed choreographed.
249 cancelled, so no mad desert island fight-athon.
Disney and ESPN officials told Dana to shut it down apparently.
Mickey Mouse told him to fuck off.
WAR CRUZ tonight
Get out the threat pee head
Jacare tested positive for 'Rona btw.
That eye on Price
Luque is one of my favourite fighters. His fight with Barbarena was incredible.
