The broadcaster took Monday's show off air and replaced it with a repeat of Dickinson's Real Deal.
    I smell a conspiracy.

I didnt know they actually kill the bull in the end. I thought they put him back in a cage for further fights.

Where do you think the term 'Matador' comes from?

I know what a Matador is but i I dont know the true meaning behind the game. I thought they would just dance around the bull and the same bull is used over and over again like horse racing.

The matador is only in for the last bit, there's toriedors and a bloke on a horse before they get involved.

Nope, they get poked with spears, made to chase the red towel for a while, and killed at the end. And then dragged around the floor for a while.

I have a feeling matador vs fresh bull would be a very different show.

Indeed, which is the main problem I have with this ludicrous game/sport/pat time - what actually is it?

If the bull was a fully fit one and it was a fair fight then fine, crack on. As it is, I hope you yourself die a painful death you scummy little coward.

It's a spectacle rather than a sporting contest. Americans do it better with Rodeo.

Good. Regardless of however much that smug twat pretends that he's trying to help people it's never been anything more than nasty, exploitative television. It's effectively the modern day equivalent of a freak show. "Pay your money! Step inside! Have a good laugh at the unemployed dossers and their horrible, lower class existence!".

Some of the stuff I've read in the wake of this about the way it's put together, particularly what goes on backstage, is horrible. He, and the rest of the people involved in making it, want to be fucking ashamed of themselves.

I saw a quote from one of the production people talking of the casting that went along the lines of "People on Prozac are the right type of mad"

These female helpers are portrayed as "obliging and eager to please", reinforcing the idea that women are "subservient", it finds.

That requires extra controls though, doesn't it? At which point you can just carry a button with you (or do it from your phone) instead of shouting at a plastic box like a pleb.
