In fairness, it would be out of character and a very stupid joke indeed, if intended as portrayed. That's not to say he won't lose his job over it because of mass-hysteria, mind.

He already has done. Sacked.
Just checked it. I would have thought the 'circus' angle was pretty obvious.
I saw it when he initially put it up and the RACIST angle didn't even occur to me. Shows how unwoke I am I guess.
I sent it to my friend as lol look at this quality racist joke, so I'm glad they've sacked him. Racist cunt.
Twitter is in full outrage and full support of the sacking, obviously. Ridiculous really. He's not helped himself with his 'of course I didn't fucking mean that, you idiots' Line of defence, you know, not enough begging for forgiveness.
That tweet really wasn't a good look though. He's not stupid enough to not see the connotations, but he's also not thick enough to think other people wouldn't either.
People are digging up old posts for new celebrities from years ago and punishing them now. We are all aware of social posting and the consequences.
If I were a celebrity I would simply not use social media.
Thats not enough. You need to go back and start deleted posts before you are invited to the table.
Got to work on 'the brand'.
They have to use it, as every fucker does. What I wouldn’t do is ever post anything without someone else vetting it first though.
And fair play to him for not issuing a grovelling apology. It would have made absolutely no difference whatsoever. Once the professionally offended are offended, they don’t rest until there’s a sacking.
Nobody has to use it, they just aren't willing to do without it.
He did apologise straight away, and that still wasn't good enough, because everyone knows what he meant better than he does. Ah well. PG gone mad, as someone said on the Twitter.
He claimed he didn't even know who had the Royal Baby.
I personally don't think it's racist (but I can see why others do in this day and age) but he hasn't helped himself after the event.
There was genuinely nothing he could do after the event. It doesn't work that way.
This PC nightmare shit isn't gonna last that much longer. It'll reverse to where it was in 2005 or so within 7 years.
It's one of those things that would have been in the past a several week long meltdown in the tabloids with everyone eventually settling on doing nothing because nobody involved with any power actually cares.
The tweet/joke had obvious racist connotations. I don't believe he meant them but he had to be thick not to see them. He shouldn't have been sacked but they should have instead done a show of his on it. He was in the wrong for posting it. The Beeb were wrong for acting so quickly on it.Presumably under pressure from the likes of the Sun/Mail who were on his doorstep ASAP, groups that have done much more terrible and offensive things every other day because it suits their anti-beeb agenda to be pro-PC culture in this situation.
If he found a picture with an African elephant, he'd have been safe as houses.
Without wanting to 'whatabout', Alan Sugar tweeted something far worse and far more racist (deliberately so, too) and didn't get SACKED from the Apprentice. The beeb are a bunch of wet losers who make it up as they go along.
What did Alan Sugar say?
I'm a twit
I'm not sure if I'm black enough to get away with laughing at that.
When people in a position of power openly make racist jokes in a public forum, makes it even better.
I missed some excellent "America is lovely" stories this week. I was reading about how Alabama Republicans seemingly want to make rape punishable with a sentence ten times stricter than that of rape and it led me on to a heartwarming story of an 11 year old in Ohio who was raped and, as things stand, is legally barred from aborting the pregnancy that has resulted from it.
Serves her right for being such a sexy little cherno.
I'm a twit
Wild. If that's hate speech every one on this forum is doing a 3 year stint at least.
Everyone I've ever met is.
Some guy just got banned from a baseball stadium for doing that upside down “OK” finger sign that’s been a meme for a while now. Apparently it’s also a white supremacist gesture. Who knew.
So why wasn't Sugar investigated?
It's all some load of bollocks.
Presumably, some journo hack would have reported, simply to extend the story.
Because the Apprentice is worth big money and Danny Baker's 5 live show isn't. Simple as that.
Some are saying it's because the Apprentice is made by a production company, but you think if Richard Osman called someone a nigger on Pointless the beeb would brush it off as an Endemol matter? I don't think so.
Really? The only association I have with that hand gesture is what Google tells me is called "the circle game."
https://www.urbandictionary.com/defi...=Circle%20Game
Unless there is some subtle distinction.
I do that sometimes to indicate something is good/going well. Am I going to get cancelled?
I think it's more when it's the other way up.
Yeah i think that guy did that in reference to the meme, which has soiled anyone who’s done it since then
No, it was a white power thing long before then.
The world has gone fucking mad.
The whole point is that it is just the ok sign. White power groups in the US use it and then go “What do you mean?” so it is impossible to tell if the guy at the game is harmless or this:

If this man was simply playing 'the circle game' then he lost the game. The circle is above his waist, a clear flaunting of the traditional rules. This evidence on top of the fact that he's at a baseball game means that I am compelled to sentence this man to 'probably a racist'.
Jeremy Kyle show has been suspended indefinitely after one of the guests topped themselves shortly after being on it.
How has that not happened before?
