    May football: THE RUN-IN!!

It's title run in time in THE GREATEST LEAGUE IN THE WORLD TRADEMARK.

It's also the run-in in Germany and.... is that the only big league where things aren't already wrapped up? I imagine there are last-day things still to be confirmed in the Championship.

And the Champions League of course but one way or the other that's not what we're going to be hearing people banging on about endlessly for the next few months.

Yes. football is as non-competative as ever.

Wolves season ended on 7th April but they will beat Liveprool at Anfield on the final day, just for fun.

In bigger news Cork City have finally lost patience with John Caulfueld and gave him the road. We're not even half way though.

The Championship is pretty much sorted too I'm afraid. Just 6th place to be settled, and that could happen tonight if Derby beat Swansea.

Derby either make the playoffs and lose or just miss out completely. It must be awful to support them.

As I understand it, no one gives a shit if City win it, because they've no fans anyway.

But if Liverpool win it, end of the world. Never hear the end of it etc.

The only thing I'll really get out of it if Liverpool win is that it'd be funny if Pep was the one to get a million points and not win the league.

Liverpool fans last night are prime reason why nobody likes them. Push the Chinese fella into a fountain, racially abuse him and then cry victim when the Spanish Plebs kick the fuck out of them into the night.

League One and Championship haven't got confirmed Champions yet though think it's safe to say that Norwich are going to get the Championship title. Peterborough and Doncaster are fist fighting for the last playoff and in League Two Newport County, Exeter, Colchester, Carlisle and Stevenage are also fighting for their last spot as well.

Liverpool fans cause this through collective sanctimonious wank. They aren't special though, the same applies to any of the various clubs who try to claim that they represent anything more than the playing of association football in the rough area suggested by the team name. West Ham are just as bad.

Liverpool: Alisson, Gomez, Matip, Van Dijk, Robertson, Fabinho, Milner, Wijnaldum, Keita, Mane, Salah.

Subs: Mignolet, Lovren, Firmino, Henderson, Shaqiri, Origi, Alexander-Arnold.

Not surprised to see Gomez in for a bit of defensive stability, although he can have his moments at right back as well. Will be interesting to see how they line up. Keita in a front 3 or 4-1-3-2? 3 at the back?

Barcelona XI: Ter Stegen, Roberto, Pique, Lenglet, Alba, Vidal, Busquets, Rakitic, Coutinho, Suarez, Messi.

Both teams seemingly still operating on the old 7.45 kick-off schedule.

Looks quite cautious from Liverpool. A bit surprising Henderson isn't in to run around a lot etc.

I'd say it's more because you can dismiss City as having bought it, where as Liverpool have sold 2 of their best players in recent history and improved.

    Comparatively speaking.

Still more than your average bear, obvs, they're no Leicester, but they can reasonably claim that they 'earned it', and they will do. Insufferably so.

I'm assuming it's the usual set up but shuffle Mane up and Keita left.

Nice way to chuck Gomez back into it.

I personally want Liverpool to win the league to piss off the united fans bleating on about how much they don’t want Liverpool to win it because of their fans. Pot, kettle, black much?

Difference is they have just a bit more quality up top. Firmino a big miss.

Going back at 1-0 wouldn't be bad. But if they score again we'll need an away goal.

    Milner.

Tasty game this. Nice to see the referee let the game run. I really don't like the idea of Malcolm and Dembele coming on after an hour, pace has been frantic.

Don’t think the Gomez move has worked. I think get at them with Trent in the second half. Really missing Firmino’s composure in the Barca half.

Robertson is getting so much joy.
