Mark?
Take that, Phonics.

Grow up, Pavel. There is no 'chosen few'.
Fargo has been seriously good. To think the bloke primarily in charge of writing this used to write for fucking 'Bones'.
There's nothing wrong with Bones you dick.
I need to finish Fargo season 1 some day. I stopped when shit went down at the house or whatever, can't remember why.
I've given up on Fargo. I thought the first season was absolutely brilliant and unlike anything else I've seen, but this season has just not grabbed me at all. I don't care enough about the characters, the dialogue has lost its cleverness and fun, and it's just a bit of a drag. It seems like the writers are relying on its audience from the first season too much.
Lorne Malvo aside, who was a fantastic creation, I think the dialogue this season has been far more interesting and playful. They've given the job of lyrical hitman to Mike Milligan this year and while he's not as good at it as Lorne Malvo, he's better than anyone else from the first season and everyone else this year is a step above.
The plotting is nowhere near as tight as the first year, which could be a bit of a problem as they go into the final few episodes, but the sense of place and the command of tone are so good that it'll keep its head above water even if the story does descend into nonsense.
Not enough happening is another complaint. The first season had a really good balance of action, tension and silliness.
I reckon there's been more action and far more tension to this point in the season than there had been last year, but there has been a distinct lack of the kind of oddball idiocy that made last year so funny.
Some of the tension in scenes involving one particular character is sucked out because he appears in the first season so you know he isn't going to die, but with all the others I can only assume the perceived lack of tension comes from you being ambivalent towards the characters.
I didn't see the first season but I'm really enjoying this one. Plus it looks amazing and stars Ted Danson so it was already on a head start with me. It took me ages to realise the other sort of Cheers reference, the mum of the Gerhardt family was Frasier's bit of rough for a while. She's aged.
That must be a part of it. Really disappointed but I'm guessing I'll re-watch the first in the next few years and love it again.
Pavel's autistic version of God Complex really is a joy to behold.![]()
Has anyone watched the rest of The Man in the High Castle as yet?
Jessica Jones ended up being fantastic, slower and perhaps in doing so a little touch more narrow than Daredevil turned out to be; but the execution was flat out perfect, so it's hard to mark it down for that.
I watched the first episode of Jessica Jones yesterday. Thought it was really good; that ending though, christ.
Also watched the first episode of Master of None and really liked it. If I could ever motivate myself to watch actually watch TV I'd be set.
Has anybody seen any of Blind Spot? The trailer is nifty but I fear it's going to be another The Following where I'm all "lol at this shit" and then watch all of it. Same question for The Man in the High Castle. I've been wanting to read the book of that for a while.
Also, my mum just told me she's spotter a teaser for the new episodes (only two of them) of Luther.![]()
Jessica Jones seemed pretty good until she picked up a car. Yawn.
I watched the original pilot of 'High Castle' when it first hit the internet months ago. It was intriguing enough that I decided I'll be giving the series itself a chance, but not so good that I was genuinely excited for it. It's an excellent idea but the execution seemed spotty.
I'm not going to bother with Blindspot at all. It looks like bilge.
Were you expecting a superhero show with no powers?
Holy shit that first Jessica Jones ep. What a way to set up a villain.
Watched the first two episodes of Jessica Jones. I'm quite liking it.
Anyone been watching The Last Kingdom? It's everything I was hoping The Bastard Executioner would be.![]()
I'm a twit
Jessica Jones is good and Lester Freamon turning up in the second episode, even briefly, is a lovely surprise.
They could probably have just let David Tennant play Purple Ronnie with his natural accent though.
Master of None was great.
Weird seeing H. Jon Benjamin in it though. Hearing Archer/Bob Belcher's voice come from an actual human is odd.
He turned up in a 'sketch' on John Oliver and I had the same thought. He has such a distinctive voice.
Yep, I had that in Wet Hot American Summer.
I thought I recognized the lawyer chick in JJ from somewhere, but couldn't place her.
Mind. Blown.
Oh look, the Bob's Burgers team has had another week off. And presumably it won't be on this coming Sunday either since it's Thanksgiving this week. Fuck's sake.
Is anybody watching The Man in the High Castle and is it worth getting Amazon Prime for?
EDIT: Seems there's a load of posts just upthread that I had missed...
I saw an advert for that last night, and as a Prime owner I may give it a watch. The book is brilliant so hopefully they've done it justice.
Just watching the last episode of True Detective (second series). What did we all think? I'm going to guess there's internet rage about it being different to the first series and, granted, it lost it's way around the middle but the final few episodes have been fucking great.
I'm 6 episodes in on The Man in the High Castle and enjoying it.
I tried watching the first episode of The Man in the High Castle last night but couldn't get into it. I thought it all seemed a bit wooden.
I'm quite liking this London Spy thing on BBC2 at the moment, even if it is a bit homoerotic.
I've never liked David Tennant but he's fucking brilliant in Jessica Jones.
Just seen the Luther trailer.
"Police."
"Which police?"
"The police."

Link? I can only find the one from the last series.
I'm really liking You're the Worst at the minute. And Fresh Off the Boat. They're both comedies though. Not sure if that's what you're after.
Also, new Luther.
I thought they weren't making any more.
Five days late, but just in case:
"The police."
Also caught up on Flash/Arrow.

When is Luther on?
A fortnight or so.
Hold the fuck on, has he replaced The Coat with that?
Fuck's sake.
Ah man guys, now I have to start adding Jessica Jones to my list.....
I'll take it out my gym time.
Ep. 8 of Jessica Jones was amazing.Top form Tennant.
Anybody else really disappointed with the end of the The Man in the High Castle?

For some reason I've only just discovered that Mose from the Office is played by Michael Schur, who has written/created some of my favourite TV shows (The Office, Parks and Brooklyn 99).
I don't seem to have missed an episode of Arrow and I don't watch Flash.
What the fuck is going on this week? He was running for Mayor last week and now we're in Ancient Egypt.
