Possible chance of snow here
Possible chance of snow here
Storm Usagi has caused some pretty bad flooding here.
Classes canceled tomorrow because it is too cold. I do not teach on Thursdays.
Another mid 30's day with good humidity and not a chance of rain. Shame about the drought but Brisbane has had a cracking summer so far.
-5c here this morning. Obviously not as cold as Pepe in Mental Land but still a piss take. It's meant to snow all fucking night n'all. Fuck this shit.
Icy here. I much prefer walking and driving in the snow, like yesterday, rather than feeling like I’m about to fall on my arse/skid into a busy roundabout. Plus snow sounds better when it crunches.
I'm a twit
We had that in 2010 during our last proper winter. Any country that regularly hits those temperatures is not fit for life.
Americans seem to call anything larger than an abandoned homestead a 'city'.
Even the threat of a bit of snow has some people losing their minds, you'd think it was actual poison falling from the sky.
Companies and the council etc. love snow as it's a brilliant excuse to continue their usual incompetence.
'Unprecedented weather conditions' pops up a lot, if it was raining fireballs from hell I might accept that as a line.
Also, at what point does the excuse that 'we hardly ever see snow so it isn't cost effective' cease?
We seem to have a little SNOW PANIC every year now.
When the cost of Snow exceeds that of Thousands of Snow-ploughs sat doing nothing 364 days a year, maintenance of them, drivers for them, etc.
Hiring Mexicans would cut the maintenance cost right down.
My ability to handle cold weather is totally dependent on how tired I am. Walking to work in shirt and semi-thick fleece in -3 was absolutely fine this morning, but walking home in 0 after a day of obviously hard graft at the bank was unbearable.
Slight dusting of snow up here. Hopefully that doesn't ice up too badly but I'm sure I'll find out when I head to the shops tomorrow.
This really needs to be can't-get-into-work bad tonight. It will disappoint, as it always does.
I really hope that isn't the case in my enz, as about 2/3 of the staff live out in the sticks and dickhead here would have to do the job of 3 people along with all the other mugs who can walk in.
When it last got super cold and snowy every single fucking bank in town apart from ours closed as well, even though our heating stopped working and our automatic door was stuck on the open setting. I have to pray for nice enough for everyone to get in, because I dread to think what's bad enough for them to close.
No snow in Essex.
How do they get this bollocks so wrong?
Because weather models attempt to be perfect simulations of the real world and that's impossible
Besides, i'm sure they err on the side of caution. Their models can predict a 30% chance of snow and the weather service will issue a warning, because it's better to be prepared for nothing than unprepared for something
It did snow, it was just followed by rain. Which the forecast said it would be here.
More snow for us. At least that means I'm not walking out onto ice.
They do, the warning system is done on a grid with likelihood on the x Axis and impact on the Y axis. In Essex the cross was in the the 'unlikely but potential disruption' position.
People just read the Daily Mails front page and assume the Met Office don't know what they're talking about if they're not snowed in the next day.

It's sixteen degrees in Glasgow today.
We're all going to die.
Nah, it doesn't feel like it. It's fresher. Just remember last year we were snowed under for a month.
Shiiiiiiit.
We're supposed to get some snow today too.
Yesterday I was just driving around and ran into a state park. The road was open but covered in snow. I said wtf and went in but then BOTTLED IT once the car started getting stuck. Did my best impression of Richard Burns on the way back.
The wind is getting pretty mad here at the minute and the lights just flickered. Fucking power better not go out.
It's meant to hit us in the early hours and last most of the day here. I'm out on a fucking building site - in the arse end of Suffolk - all day signing up future tenants as well.
Walking home through that wasn't fun.
It's crazy windy here too, sustained wind speeds of 50 km/h with gusts up to 70
Fucking hell, thunder and lightning now.
No, i mean kilometers / hour.
What are you even talking about? It's pretty much exactly the same wind speed that the UK & Ireland have been getting today and yesterday.
Don't mess fam, I checked wind reports from various parts of the British Isles and compared them to the wind in California specifically so I wouldn't sound like a pussy complaining about the wind
Moans per hour.
You're definitely thinking in miles per hour.
Today's highest wind speed in the UK was 69mph (nothing special) at Bealach Na Ba, which is definitely a place.
The strongest gust in California today was 39mph

Pre-empting his I WaS tAlKiNg AbOuT yEsTeRdAy post,
Yesterday Bealach Na Ba recorded 98mph
California recorded 54mph
Pussy.

Our highest yesterday was Malin Head at 130km/h.
