    My three money sinks at the moment are:
    1) cold brew coffee;
    2) eating out; and
    3) buying stuff for my dog.

    Well, and videogames.

    Do you brew your own cold brew?

    Nicely done man. I'm still getting nicotine via a vape so technically half quit. First couple of weeks, after a 16 year 20 a day habit, I wanted to kill everything in sight but finding it easy as now. The money saving is the eye opener really, £40 for a three month's supply for the vape, which is less than one week's spend on cigs.

    Its a mug's game - but its so fucking satisfying at the same time.

    It would save me money if I were to do so, but no.

    We buy cartons of cold brew from a shop across the corner.

    In Edmonton, I just went to this cafe called Transcend every day for cold brew, which cost me between $10-35 a week depending on who happened to be working to the till. The Christians working there never gave staff discounts or freebies.

    Absolutely. Roasteries will have pay to attend cuppings where people will listen to people who have been to ORIGIN!

    Im surpressing the urge to talk about different recipes Ive tried and the different countries that go best with sparkling water etc. I hate myself.

    ...do you make YOUR own cold brew? Tell me in detail.

    A large part of my outsourcing it is that I'm really social, so I enjoy the experience of going to a cafe.

    You would love the roastery experience by the sounds. All extroverts happy to talk shop about everything eg. the latest crop from kenya and the new double fermentation washed process...

    People that are wankers about coffee are worse than wine wankers who are already very bad.

    Cheers. TBH if I'd had any idea of the emotional rollercoaster then I'd have gone with a vape/some kind of nicotine supplement too.

    Fair play though. Not easy however you go about it.

    Despite knowing my fair share of coffee afficionados and having been exposed to the Secret Artes behind it, my taste levels are still these:
    * fucking garbage
    * it's fine
    * good

    Unfortunately, I now find it's a lot harder for coffee to be good. : moop:

    It's just coffee, so why is it becoming so hard?

    Pretty easy to get a flat white around here from cafes I just stay away from half assed atempts at anything black.

    Im far too embarrased to publicly discuss flavour notes and preferred origin.

    The guys next door live off takeaways to an unhealthy degree. Their recycling's full of newspaper and trays. I don't get it. There's two of you. Cook something.

    What's cold brew? Is the drink itself cold or is it made cold and then heated up?

    Coffee that has been steeped in spring water for 18 plus hours usually in the fridge. Mixed with milk or sparkling water I prefer sparkling as it is a nice afternoon pick me up. It is stronger than normal coffee. Served cold so perfect for Brisbane summers.

    The people downstairs from me regularly get deliveries from a takeaway so close to my house that I need only walk about ten yards from my garden gate and I can smell it. Incredible laziness.

    The postal vote rates are abnormally high in Glasgow and Newcastle compared to any other British city, iirc. Where does the cultural laziness come from?

    EDIT: just looked it up, 18% nationwide, 44% in Newcastle. That is dramatic.

    Why does a postal vote imply laziness? Going out of your way to arrange such a thing is far more effort than having to walk to your nearest primary school.

    Whatever it implies, there must be some reason why it is ridiculously high in the north east and the populated areas of Scotland.

    The populations are probably less mobile than more vibrant areas, so more susceptible to organised canvassing?

    Children.

    You know what. I wanted to add some emphasis to that, but there is no word you can use that doesn't leave you on the spectrum between Savile and Hindley.

    "Fucking Children"
    "Bloody Children"
    "Shitting Children"

    So yeah. As you were.

    Does't this just imply corruption?

    I have no idea about Newcastle, but isn't Glasgow fairly legendary in terms of local political corruption.

    It's famous for Knife crime too. Actually, London is famous for Knife Crime and Government Corruption too. And Turkey.

    I'd have thought I was on to something, but Northern Ireland ruin it with their love of bombs and drill bits instead.
